Previously she had only stayed with friends, and that was most often still in our own home. There are multiple boarding and day care places in Portland with great reviews, but my goal was to try to keep her in a home, which should be more familiar for her at the grand old age of 10. AJ and Li worked great with my schedule, are friendly and loving, and they OOZE a love of animals. They took her running with them (NOT something she gets at home!), skateboarding, and to multiple parks nearby for frolicking. And even with a number of dogs and cats at the home, everyone got along great and she had plenty of friends to keep her company if she felt frisky. St Johns isn't as far as people make it out to be, so don't let distance from your home keep you from using their services. I was panicky due to family visiting and running out of time, but they offered to pick her and her items up, assist with mail/trash/etc while we were gone, etc. Take a look at their full list of services when planning a trip and you'll see they are very helpful. I'm glad they were able to take Adalia in while we were hiking!

They made arrangements to have Molly and, I believe, Christine come to my home to meet the kids. So, while I was interviewing them they were interviewing the cats. I finally took the plunge and signed up. It was fantastic----knowing the kids were going to have food, water, clean boxes and plenty of attention. I say plenty knowing full well that 24 hours of continuous petting and cuddling is barely meeting the minimums as far as the cats are concerned. However, when I got home they were content and happy and well fed. Molly was kind enough to send me text messages and photos of the kids while I was gone so I knew they had really been there---lol---and let met see I was not being missed much. The security of knowing these ladies will come in and care for the cats is a tremendous relief for me and makes it possible for me to do some traveling. One of the really neat things was they were already well known in my apartment complex as they visit some other pets here - so my apartment manager knew them. And gave me good reports on them before I signed up. I will certainly recommend Sit and Stay to anyone who needs pet care from caring qualified professionals.

My baby means the world to me and I would seriously die if anything happens to him. My husbands friend told my husband about how he boards his dog at Sit Stay Fit so we decided to board Loki here as well while we were in Dallas. Jamie took such a good care of him and she sent me updates daily which was why I never worried. Im so happy we found out about Sit Stay Fit because i don't have to worry about where to board him when I travel and I know he'll be in good hands.

On the positive side, the staff were consistently friendly, kind, and clearly care about the dogs. They created a welcoming environment, and we appreciated their kindness. Unfortunately, the experience itself didn't quite work out for us. Our dog is an intact male, and he ended up in a group with all females, one of whom had recently gone through a heat cycle. The facility allows females who have recently been in heat, but unfortunately their scent just isn't conducive to a group social setting like this, especially for young intact males. The first week this happened we assumed it was just a temporary challenge and gave it the benefit of the doubt, but the issue continued during our next session. The scent was simply too distracting for him- and even other females were distracted by the scent. Our dog who normally socializes well in other group settings, became too fixated and overstimulated for any type of learning or appropriate social interaction. We really tried to give this facility a fair shot and came back again hoping for a better experience, but ultimately our dog had to remain leashed the entire session time, which completely defeats the purpose of a social/play session. We have now found a facility with stricter guidelines around females in heat.

Ruff Mutts - Waiting for Rae's arrival no doubt!!!

My 2-year old Australian Shepherd was very perplexed when we moved to an apartment in the city, and…read moreRae has made that transition both smooth, and a joy for both of us. My pooch, Luka, goes with Rae on her Dog Park Adventures. Rae comes to our apartment and picks him up, takes him out for a few hours to an off leash dog park, and then returns him home. Rae is consistent, always shows up and does what she says she is going to do. She is extremely flexible, allowing for wiggle-room in your schedule if needed, and will always ensure coverage with one of her other walkers if she is unavailable for whatever reason. The pricing is fair, very comparable to other similar businesses. Rae goes above and beyond and even teaches Luka new commands, practices his old ones, and works through any behaviour issues that might arise both in the car (which causes him some anxiety) as well as at the park. Luka has learned to listen better through spending time with Rae, which has improved his behaviour at home in general as well. Rae even has a very active Instagram/Facebook account, which is incredibly thoughtful and brings me peace since I get to see a smiling, waging, running, playing, jumping picture or video of Luka everyday he goes out with Rae. To top it off, they go to the park rain or shine, and Rae always ensures Luka is wiped down well and that our bedroom doors are clicked shut to save our bedding from doggy smell. It's the little things that truly make Rae exceptional at her job, and Ruff Mutts the only place I will go for our dog walking needs. Most of all, Luka LOVES Rae. She has a special nickname for him, which, if you say out loud, will get his tail wagging so hard he loses balance. "Rae Today!" used to mean little to him, but now he knows it means he gets to go on an adventure with his friends. It has improved his quality of life, and allowed me to take a breath in between my many commitments. I would recommend Rae to my best friend, my mother, and a stranger on the street-- if you haven't had the joy of curling up with your pooch after a DPA day, you're missing out on the best cuddles!

Rae is so good at communicating changes/updates to clients, and she works with a team of knowledgeable dog walkers who genuinely love and care for the dogs they spend time with every day. They are reliable, they always show up on time, and they've clearly put a lot of work into helping Daisy become a better-trained dog. My dog gets SO excited when Cali or Theresa arrive to walk her. They send me pictures of the goofy things Daisy did and give you a little update after each walk. My dog comes home happy and tired after her walks, which is exactly what I want. I'd recommend Ruff Mutts to anyone with an active dog in Portland.
