We also received an email on Monday morning reminding us of the upcoming visit. I arrived at the store on time only to be informed our appt had been cancelled. The clerk mentioned customers were either called/texted about cancellations - which clearly was not the case. Stuff happens, we understand. This is unprofessional and disrespectful to your customers, I wasted my time and had to re-arrange my work schedule to accommodate your groomer. We were not offered another appt to perform this service. With automated systems in place, how hard is it to alert customers when there is a schedule change? We've been clients of Country Club Kennels for the past five years…read more We've always had real difficulty boarding our two dogs. We've boarded in three different states in multiple facilities, and each time its just full of trauma, and if our dogs could report us to an abuse agency they would do just that. When arrive at Country Club both of my pets are eager to go inside. They are greeted like family members, and they immediately run to the back of the facility so they can go to the outdoor area. We've also done grooming too, and our dogs look great and they are not freaked out. We use Country Club for boarding at least four times a year. If we didn't have them we would have a very difficult time going anywhere without our dogs. Finding Country Club has been a huge difference for us.

Yesterday I took my two stubborn huskies to The Merrimack Doggie Spaw for the first time, I was…read morerefer by a friend to go here because I was in search of a crate free groomer. Kodiak and Maya absolutely hate bath time, we typically only bring them to a groomer in the spring to speed up the grooming process and just bathe them at home the rest of the year when they're just dirty and need baths! So needless to say, they're a bit difficult to handle when it comes to grooming... BUT The Merrimack Doggie Spaw was amazing! My dogs literally look the best I've ever seen them after a grooming, theres virtually no shedding left to be done (which anyone that owns a husky knows how rare that is this time of year)! Dallys was awesome, there were some issues with my dogs acting up (Maya having a melt down in her play pen while Kodiak got a bath and Kodiak trying to escape the bath) and she handled it great! I loved that she didn't lecture me on their behavior like some people have, and recognized that it's due to stress, and came up with a plan on how we'll handle their grooming next time to save one of them from hurting themselves and to make her job easier! So if you want you're dog to look amazing and get exceptional service, definitely book a "spaw" day at The Merrimack Doggie Spaw!

HUSKY DIARRHEA GONE!!!…read more I have a 5 month old Siberian Husky. She came to me with parasites and very soft stools. She was treated for parasites by the vet, and is now negative. but diarrhea has been persistent. Even the anti-diarrhea med has had no effect. I tried bland diet, and that didn't work. I was at my wits end, and decided to make phone calls to find kibble for sensitive stomachs. I called Food For Pets in Amherst NH, and spoke with DOUG. After explaining to him everything that I've tried, he recommended a recipe that would get her stabilized. The recipe had 3 ingredients: Canned pumpkin (100% pumpkin, no spices), cooked steel cut oats, and boiled ground turkey (99% fat free). He gave me the proportions for my dogs weight, and he said not give any treats. I was to feed her three times a day with this recipe. The goal is to get the dog's bowels stabilized, and once she is stable, then we can introduce kibble. The kibble that the breeder recommended, although it's a good food, it was probably too rich in fat for her. The vet wanted me to keep her on the anti-diarrhea med, and also add a probiotic. Well, it only took 1.5 days of being on this recipe, and her poop started to firm up! it's been 3 days now, and her poops are perfect! My puppy feels so much better! She was irritable before, and restless all night. Now, she is calm, and sleeps the whole night! I'm so grateful for Doug at Food For Pets in Amherst NH! His breath of knowledge on dog foods and health, has saved my puppy from developing further bowel disorders! I'm now working with Doug on introducing a low fat, high fiber kibble and probiotics. Food For Pets will be the only place I'll go, for my dogs food! Thank you Doug, for taking the time to hear my story, and for helping my little puppy heal And thank you Jesus, for guiding me to Doug

The owner/trainer of this facility is not a good person. Don't take your dogs here…read more We tried to take our 5 mo old puppy to a class here. He is a big puppy, around 43 lbs when we brought him. We had our puppy for a month at this point and know that he always barks at new dogs until he gets to smell them. He has never shown any sign of aggression (growl, snarl, showing his teeth, etc.) and is actually very submissive when playing with other dogs. When our pup saw the other dogs for the class, he barked at each of them to say hello and couldn't wait to play. When we met the trainer, our puppy barked to say hello (again, this is normal behavior for him, just a vocal dog). We were turned away at the door because our pup was too big, too "dominant", and too "aggressive". Without even working with our dog, he immediately said we need to get bitter apple spray and a pronged collar for him. To top it off, he said "your dog has a chemical imbalance in his brain". Incredible rude and uncalled for given that we just met him and he doesn't know us or our dog. I tried contacting the facility after this to get my deposit back and they have not responded to any of my calls or emails. This place is just not run by kind or honest people. There are better training facilities. We are now working with a trainer who took the time to meet our dog and understand him. She loves our puppy and commonly "jokes" about how he's so smart and sweet she wants to take him home. He's a wonderful, very trainable, very sweet boy. If you are looking for positive reinforcement training, this is not the place to go. If you have a big dog, this is not the place to go. If you value the trainer caring about your dog, this is not the place to go. Just don't go here.
