If you're hoping to buy fish, and you're an excellent caregiver to the ones you have, do not go here. They incriminate you, judge you without knowing your circumstances and may even possibly deny you to purchase a fish, just as they did me. I have 3 tanks, an angelfish sanctuary and they blatantly refused to sell me two small veil-tails in fear of 'overcrowding'. I blame her ignorance for her poor judgement, but I also understand nobody's perfect. read more

I have had two visits canceled last minute out of the last 3 visits. This one today way canceled 11 minutes before my appointment, with my two dogs in the parking lot, walking in the door. They offered 20% off my next visit, but that wont cover the gas it took for the wasted travel, or the car wash needed after transporting my St Bernard and Husky. If my dogs actually make in to be groomed, they do a nice job. read more

Do not recommend grooming here. I believe that the groomers should be knowledgeable on breeds and the correct way to groom them. If a dog should not be shaved because it is very likely the fur will not grow back correctly, the pet owner should be advised. Maybe make the client customer aware, maybe say something like, are you aware shaving this breed is not recommended, it is likely his fur will be damaged and not regrow! I am so very upset with myself and with the groomer for not informing and or advising me. My beautiful baby's fur is ruined forever. I will never forgive myself. But I also feel it is the groomer job to recommend and advise based on breed. read more

Went in for a bath, slight trim, ear cleaning, nail trim and brush. Got back a short haired dog whose nails had not been cut and ears not been cleaned. This review is for grooming...first of all more expensive than any other place I've brought my dog in Nashua but that is beyond their control. Dropped off my dog and they need a 4 hour window to groom him. Petco is 2 hours. I booked the works for him which came with a bandana or bow. Later when I picked him up he had nothing, I had to ask for one which when I dropped him off I saw a dog with bows on already. I asked where to pay they said the front register. They were so busy on the phone and not welcoming. No update on how my dog did. I got all the way to the register with my dog and they said I need an invoice. I went back to grooming to get an invoice and there was no apology. I get it you're busy but the level of service I got for a $72 hair cut was way below my expectations. I will stay with Petco or Hudson Groomery! read more

We will not be going back. We dropped our 9year-old lab at 1:30pm today for a bath and a nail trimming. At 5:30pm my fiancé called to check on him because, even on the busiest day, it shouldn't take 4hrs. He was told that they would check and call right back. Fast-forward an hour, no callback. At 6:30pm he left to go get our pup whether he was finished or not; 5hrs waiting to get groomed is too much for any dog let alone our 9year old. Our pup was damp, desperate for water and the bathroom, plus we were charged full price with a "sorry for the wait." If they were under-staffed we should have been warned or rescheduled. We are very reasonable and don't mind waiting, but our pup deserves better than a 5hr wait. We absolutely won't be returning to PetSmart. read more

Unable to write a review on PetSmart site. Guess they don't want to hear it. I never again will go to the W Lebanon NH store. I should have been clued in by the sign "Help wanted for grooming- no experience or training needed." Ordered bath, furminator, and nail grind. They shaved my Great Pyrenees back side and half his tail. And it wasn't a neat job- it was messy and amateur. The charge was $150. They did not trim his feet or grind the nails they clipped them. He had a couple mats underneath but because we groom him regularly he was generally just shedding. Since they were so rude we decided to cut our loss and leave before they did anything else. By far the best grooming experience I have ever encountered with my two yorkies! I'm pregnant and had pregnancy brain the morning of my appointment which was the day before Thanksgiving.. I was over an hour late because I mixed up the time. I called the girls at the salon and they said if I hurry they could still take my two dogs.. mind you they were SO busy! When I picked my dogs up they were perfect!! I wasn't expecting their cuts to be so perfect since I crunched them into the schedule so late.. So rude bitch at the fucking counter says to me what shots I replied all shots for a 8 week old pup. She repeated it again guess she didn't understand all shots. do not go to this store to buy fish. i had gone into this petsmart on several occasions and noticed that the betta fish on display all looked sick or dead. i went in looking to buy a fish and even one of the betta fish containers were broken and leaking water and the employees did not care or notice until i brought it to their attention. i purchased one of the betta fish that appeared healthy at the time. i set everything up to the best of my ability and took good care of this fish but noticed he was acting really strange and not normal. three days later my fish died because petsmart sold me a sick fish. read more

Took my dog to get her nails trimmed. On Tuesday, they told me it would be $20.00 on Wednesday, I was charged $22.00 - INFLATION?? The person only did half the job. Only trimmed 2 feet NOT 4. Did not do the grinding but charged me for it. The nails were so jagged that they cut my seat cushion in my truck so now I have to get that fixed. Corporate was no help after half hour on the phone. Our dog, Benny, has had some serious behavioral issues, and we were at our wits' end. We rescued him 2 years ago when he was 15 mos. old. He came from Georgia, and was abused. We were torn apart, thinking that we would have to re-home him. He was biting, he bit me so bad, broke skin and bruised me. It was a decent bite. We are a family of five with three girls, and none of us really wanted to see him go to a new home. Enter: PetSmart on Cellu Drive. I went in for a shock collar, and came out signed up for 4 hours of behavioral dog training instead. Was it more expensive? Not by much... But Definitely worth it. You never know if a shock collar is going to make the dog worse... Our trainer, Christin, REALLY knows her stuff. She spent her time with us, and with Benny, and she is expert. She deserves a raise. Her demeanor is pleasant, and Ben really loved her and loved being attentive with her. Of course, we also use the groomer there, and our fave is the grooming salon manager. I think her name is Nicki. She is personable and loves her job. Other than that, this is our fave animal store to go to!!! read more

I can't comment on the grooming, this review is aimed at Banfield and the sales floor. The sales floor is always neat and tidy, associates are always around to help when needed, and I can always find what I need! As far as Banfield goes, it is the BEST Vet I have ever taken my animals to. I have used other Banfields before and I have felt like my pets weren't receiving "personal" care. But at this Banfield EVERYONE know and loves my Spoo (or at least they tell me they love my puppy!) Brianna at the front desk is always cheerful and greats us with a smile each time and the various techs we have had are all sweet!! We have only used Dr.Haydon and we will continue to have her as our Vet forever!! As one of "those" Pet Parents with a Dennis the Menace Poodle she handles all of my concerns without being patronising and with a very understanding answer. I cannot sing her praises enough, she takes such good care of my little ****head!! We love it so much there we drive almost two hours to take our animals there. Went to Petsmart in Nashua, Royal Ridge Mall. I was with my wife and 2 kids. We came to buy a hamster. My wife asked to see (not hold but see since they were all sleeping and in hiding) the hamster and the staff member, Jennifer seemed annoyed at the request. She even said "most people do research" before they come to the store. We actually had done a ton of research which is why we were there. I called this morning to ask a question about dog food, the girl I spoke to was rude and hung up on me! I'm sorry you had to do your job. I've been in there as well a few times to pick up some stuff for my pup, and ask a few questions to the receptionist at Banfield, she is down right nasty and should not be working with the public. If I could give 0 stars I would. From an EXTREMELY SLOW female cashier to price gouging. Charged my card and claimed they didn't. Then charged me again for the same item at the correct price. Got my emailed receipts, and guess what... was charged twice. Manager refunded me "a little extra for the inconvenience"... aka the difference between the incorrect price and the price on the shelf, a whopping dollar, that I had initially paid! If you do date shop in store, make sure you check every items price on their website, it's guaranteed to be cheaper online! Also, forget about picking up in store. Took my 1st dog for puppy training with Barb and it was worth the time and money. I then took the next stage class with Barb, and Maribeth, as my yorkie needed a little more training. Not only do you learn to train your dog properly, but you also have an opportunity to socialize them with strangers and other dogs. The prices are cheaper than Petco and they have a great selection of items for dogs, I can't comment on cats, birds, etc as I don't go to those sections. I use the grooming service for both my dogs (I got a 2nd yorkie) and sometimes I think they could have done a better job, or cut too short. Today, Friday the 13th, I locked my keys and cellphone in my car. The manager got me a coat hanger to try, and helped me. Let me use their phone to call AAA. Offered me a soda while I waited, and gave me a chair so I could sit at the door looking for the truck. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

You must read this! I have to say this is the best customer service experience I have ever had. Not many people would go so far out of their way as Sean Carmack did. I work at a company in Boston and we have an employee who frequently travels. He's on vacation at home with his dog so we wanted to give him a gift to show how much we appreciate him. I looked into Bark Box but they only ship on the 15th of each month, and this is something we wanted him to have during his time off. I called Pet Smart in Nashua with an odd request--to see if they did any sort of pet gift baskets. They don't but that didn't stop Sean from making one! Sean stayed on the phone with me the entire time. He asked for a price range and went entirely out of his way to gather toys and treats. I understand this was a special request and I was impressed with Sean's ability to make this work for me. Beyond his patience and search for the best gifts, Sean was taking time out of his day to deliver this for me. I have never experienced this type of dedication and kindness from anyone in retail or service industry. To top it all off, I could hear Sean assisting customers in the background. He sounded super friendly and knowledgeable. Sean truly helped me out beyond my expectations. Give this guy a raise! read more

This place is too expensive for grooming, and lately they've been charging an extra fee for 'extra brushing', claiming the dog has too many tangles. I've been taking my dog there for 6 years and they never did that before; the last two times it's cost me a small fortune, even though the dog wasn't in that bad of a shape. Even if I specifically asked them not to charge me extra because I'm unemployed, they did it anyway). Sorry, but 'extra brushing' should be part of the grooming cost, especially at $60 a whack. I volunteer for a local animal rescue and help care for the rescued cats housed at the Petco down the street. One of the cats, Dee, is longhaired and, as a found stray, was brought into Petco with very matted fur that was impossible to brush. Petco doesn't offer cat grooming, so the volunteer coordinator made a Friday 7am appointment for Dee to be groomed, to which I volunteered to take him. Petco's employees didn't arrive until after 7, so I couldn't access the cat for his 7am appointment. I called Petsmart and explained the situation, and they said it was no problem. Dee and I arrived for his grooming at 7:15, and by 8am I took a handsomely shaved and trimmed (if very grumpy) feline back to Petco. I really appreciated that not only did Petsmart give me any guff about being late, but the groomer also took really good care of Dee in a gentle and efficient manner. He looks so much better and, now that's he's over the initial indignity of the grooming process, feels better too. Hopefully this handsome guy will find a home soon. read more

The store is separate from the pet hospital, Banfield. Not sure why some reviewers can't distinguish between the two. This review is focused on the store. Pricing, customer service, and post-service are all on par or better than competitors. They allowed me to return two separate items, dry and canned cat food (one due to recall, the other because one of my guy wasn't tolerating it well). As for the Banfield satellite, I will say that, while pricey, they discovered the tumor in my cat that their regular vet had not. Vet was forthright and didn't try to sell me on follow-up care, knowing that I have a vet with whom I'm already established. I think that Banfield is like a training stop (an internship, basically), for vets-in-training, leading to a high turn over rate, so it's reasonable to assume that some reviewers have legit claims when they feel they got bad service from one vet, but that doesn't mean they're all bad and it shouldn't be a reflection on Petsmart the store, which is separate from Banfield the veterinary practice. read more

This review is for both the store and the groomer, although most of my ire is with the groomers. I've only just moved to NH from quite a ways away, and this is unfortunately the only close place to get my dog groomed that doesn't have a 2 week waiting list (my job means I never have any idea what I'm doing that far out). This is my first experience with Pet Smart grooming. We bought a Martha Stewart Scooper set, and so far it has broken twice. The first time, the seals that hold the bag onto the scoop kept coming entirely off, so we figured it was just a defect with the item and went to exchange it. The very rude woman at the register told us we were putting the bags on the wrong way, and that's why it was breaking. I was confused, and very nicely tried to explain that we were doing exactly what the directions on the box said (had them right there with me and pointed them out). It's not rocket science- there seems to be only one very clear way to attach it. She insisted that we should do some crazy maneuver, and said if we exchanged it, and kept following the very clear directions that EVERY type of scoop has, we would just break it. She did, in the end, let us do an exchange, but she was very grumpy the whole time and was very difficult and short with us, yelling at me when she had to re-enter my phone number for the pet perks multiple times because I apparently muttered. So far I have only used the grooming service twice, both times for a "pawdicure" that I scheduled an hour in advance. The first time, I paid for extra scissoring in between my dogs toes and on her feet (she's long haired). My dog is older and can be groomer shy, but my old groomer never had an issue and always gave me back a happy, trimmed up dog. I made sure to let them know that she was a little scared and to please be gentle with her. When I mentioned how I didn't want the cologne spritz but I liked the bow/bandanna idea (on the website it is mentioned as part of the service), both employees there seemed confused at what I was saying, and had to go ask another employee if those were included. At this point I was doubting their abilities, but she needed her nails trimmed and I figured it couldn't be that bad, right? It's a nail trim for goodness sake! They told me they'd call over the loud speaker when she was done, and not to wait near the grooming area since if she could see me, shed likely be difficult for them. I understand that, and figured I could browse around for a little while. Well, I got no call, and after 30 minutes I decided to peek over and check, and lo and behold was told shed been done and sitting there for ten minutes. Almost nothing was done- her nails were hardly trimmed, and definitely not ground, even though that is the whole reason I got the pawdicure instead of just the nail trim, and I had made a point to say that I really needed those both done. There was no bow/bandana, and they charged me $9 for that "extra scissoring", which apparently meant "trim one or two stray hairs". I chalked it up to inexperienced college kids with no training, working minimum wage, and said id never be back. Well, another two weeks went by and I still couldn't find a groomer, and I really needed her nails done so I wanted to give it another go, figuring maybe I will get someone more experienced. Alnost the same thing happened! No bow, two different employees who seemed to have no idea what I was talking about, and no call on the loud speaker. How on earth am I supposed to know when to pick her up? A I supposed to just peak around corners at the window the whole time, hoping she doesn't see me and start flailing? This time her nails seemed done well, at least, but since it costs just as much for the pawdicure for a nail trim and grind combined, it's really annoying that the extras are skipped and theres so much hassle. Maybe it's just this store that needs some re-educating, because no one seems to know about the services they're supposed to be "experts" in. read more

I had a bit of an emergency this morning with my long haired Himalayan cat. He had a large poo "issue" on his behind and it was nearly impossible for me to remove myself. I called the North Nashua Petsmart as they have groomed my cat many times in the past. The girl on the phone told me to come in anytime and they would fit my cat in. I drove right up and they groomed my cat while I waited. This is hands down the best grooming salon in the area and to be able to get immediate service in what I considered an "emergency" situation makes them even better in my eyes. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIIN!!! I brought my 9 year old Bernese Mountain Dog in for shampoo and grooming at 2:00 this afternoon. I explained to the staff he is getting old, and his hips are weakening. At 7:00 pm, he was still being brushed...that's fine. Then, to my HORROR, I witnessed my dog FALL off the grooming table...still tethered by the collar to a pole on the table. I rushed in and told the staff he was done. The staff was very apologetic, and told me I could bring him back for further brushing. I THINK NOT!! The manager was apologetic and offered me 50% off services. My dog is home; obviously exhausted and hobbling. We will see how he's doing in the morning. Thank you, but we won't be back. read more

I had an outstanding experience at this PetSmart just off 101A in Nashua NH, principally because of a man/employee named Rhys, who proved to be a very helpful, kind, professional person, of good character not often found in big box stores (not in Massachusetts anyway, maybe it's less unusual in NH). I was incapicitated and needed help in getting a 40-lb box of cat litter (the unscented Arm and Hammer, the only one my cat and I can stand, we both hate those powerfully scented ones...people, just scoop out the box when your cat goes, that's the least you can do for them, when they are kind enough to go in the box for you!! They hate those chemicals.) The store didn't have smaller sizes. Rhys helped big time by moving half of the litter to an empty box (after getting OK from his manager) and brought the two 20-lb boxes to my car. It made all the difference. I also enjoyed learning about Rhys' pets. Good Man. It was a very good experience in an otherwise very painful, difficult day. THANK YOU, Rhys, and Petsmart. Thanks Petsmart for having the UNSCENTED litter, can't stand those putrid chemical-scented ones. read more
