Now... some of the people I've run into here, including Wheaton Police officers.... that's a different story. I have had bad interactions with police, homeless and the typical uppity Wheaton-ite here. I'm not sure if people come here and figure since it's a convenient store they can act like turds, or they are turds in general. The store has a descent amount of stuff here and for what I typically get, they hardly ever ran out of it. I will miss the old owners, the new Staff seems nice (Naomi is running the store now) and hopefully they continue to stay that way.

My friend's slurpee was bubbling over and spilling and she was yelled at to get out. Then I was having trouble swiping the card and was told to hurry up in a rude tone. I stopped in to get a bottle of Coke and was amazed at how dirty it is in there. It's picked up, but not clean. I just wanted to get out some cleaner and start wiping down counters! A good mop would do wonders for the floor. This place has all the stuff you can't live without - lottery tickets, bottles of soda that cost way more than the store, paper plates, etc. I guess you could stop in while you are doing some laundry down the mall and kill some time! There were lots of people coming and going from here what I stopped in, so obviously convenience trumps cleanliness for them, but not me.

There were at least 5 people waiting in line after me and the ONLY person checking people out, had to go talk to the pharmacist about another problem I had with them not filling a prescription that I received a text saying it was ready, and she neglected to have any of the other 4 people working in the pharmacy fill in for her while she spent at least 15 minutes sorting out my problem. Finally, after she got my prescription filled, someone came to ring people up. And there was someone in the pharmacy who appeared to be from corporate with who I assumed was the store manager, both completely clueless to what was going on. The woman helping me never said a word to him about the issues going on at the moment. And by the time she finally got my meds I had been in the pharmacy for well over 40 minutes and was so sick of waiting for these incompetent people that I wasn't going to stick around to complain to him. I should have, but had no patience left.

Because of the staff shortage you will have to wait a lot here. Wait at the pharmacy, wait at the clinic, wait at the register, you get the gist. I had to adjust my rating based on the wait factor (never do the pharmacy drive through after 4pm!) as I know what it was like before. I think there should almost be an option for a review during covid, because it has affected this spot a ton. Be kind and patient to the staff here. We all need more of that!

Today, I had my first unpleasant interaction with an employee at the CVS at Geneva Road and Pleasant Hill. I am 69!years old and was sitting on the floor at the end of an aisle, looking at greeting cards on a lowest shelf, when an employee approached me and, in a tone I found rude, told me to get up. She explained that someone could come around the corner and not see me. However, when I was squatting very low, with my bottom only about an inch above the floor, I'm quite flexible at my age thanks to yoga , she said that position was okay. Hmm... My head and shoulders were in essentially the same position as when I was sitting, so I did not understand why she considered one position acceptable and the other unsafe based on visibility. There were no other customers or employees around us during this conversation. I understand, and appreciate, that employees have a responsibility to address safety concerns. My complaint is about the rude and dismissive way she spoke to me and the inconsistency in her explanation. A polite request and a clear explanation of any store policy would have made this a very different experience.
