I have been going to this Walgreens for the majority of my life, but the past two and a half years have been the worst experience I have had at an establishment. The manager is incredibly rude and gets angry if you ask a simple question. Recently I went in, and pressed the customer service button since nobody was at the counter. The manager came up to me at my side and rolled her eyes, and said, "What do you want," in an extremely ill-mannered tone. I made my voice more high pitched, as it typically comes off nicer towards people, and I proceeded to say I needed my photos under my last name, then told her I could show her my online receipt. She rolled her eyes yet again, said, "No why would I need to see that, just tell me the size of your photos," in another obnoxious tone. Prior to this, I have simply just walked around the store and she was watching me as if I was some sort of beast, or animal. She follows teenagers around the store even if they are simply buying GUM. She sets a timer for teenagers in the store, claiming they only have five minutes to search for an item. I would understand if customers were being rude, but she simply envies people that are under the age of twenty, even if they are nice. I hope this attitude changes, and I certainly hope I won't have to encounter this every time I step foot in the Walgreens on Gilbert Avenue. read more

Worst Walgreens pharmacy I have ever been to. The first time I had a problem with this location, I had refilled a prescription set to be picked up at 4700 Gilbert location. I receive the ready for pickup confirmations via email once processed. I showed up to pick up my prescription and the pharmacist told me it wasn't there. I was told it was at the Walgreens in La Grange. I explain that would make no sense because the confirmation is for the 4700 Gilbert location in Western Springs. I drive over to the Walgreens in La Grange to be told by their pharmacist that it was at the Western Springs location where I just came from. I drive back to the Western Springs location and go figure....they had it all along. Second issue I've had with this location. I order a refill and get confirmation it will be ready for pickup Friday at 2:00 PM. It's now Sunday and I showed up to pickup my prescription where I was told they weren't showing any orders for myself on their end. I explain, again, that would make no sense as i've received confirmation the prescription would be ready 48 hours prior. The pharmacist tells me they close in 30 minutes. She won't have it for me until tomorrow. I leave and receive a text 15 minutes later that my order is ready for pickup. This location has proved twice now that the pharmacists are complete disasters and extremely unorganized. Very unreliable and wouldn't waste my time ever trying to come back here. Perhaps some basic training would do them well. read more

Absolutely do NOT recommend this Walgreens. The lady in the pharmacy can't even switch insurance I called earlier about changing. Then I call to fill my daughters prescription and change the insurance AGAIN on the pain medicine from my work Injury and the lady put me on hold 1 hour later still on hold. . . Still can't fill my kids medicine I will switching to a completely different Walgreens. Tried to talk to the manager maria and all she can say is she is in the front of the store. Absolutely ridiculous then the lady gets on the phone and I express my frustration and she says she gonna hang up the phone. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HORRIBLE PHARMACY TO ANYONE! If your rude this is the place for you! Now my daughter and I will be without our medication. read more

The woman at the drive through must hate her job! She seems so annoyed all the time, and when you drive up, even though she's standing right there at the window, she makes you wait for several minutes before she speaks to you. She never smiles. She never says how are you, not even a greeting. It just makes it so uncomfortable and I feel like if someone is going to have that job they need to be kind and helpful. She is neither. read more

Terrible. Overpriced items. Rude worker. I went into the Walgreens with my friends with the intention of buying something, but the entire time the worker was eyeballing us for no reason. I was planning to buy a lighter ($3), this was already overpriced. When I picked it up the worker saw me and yelled "nuh uh nope no playing with that put it down". The dollar store was around the corner so I went there and bought 3 lighters for 1/3 of the price of a Walgreens lighter. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here. read more

My father-in-law uses a catheter. He ran out of the lubricant. I called every single big box drug store to no avail - even other Walgreens. They all said they didn't carry this product. My father-in-law went to this particular Walgreens and they sold him ...... wait for it.......KY Jelly. What??????? He is not having sex with the catheter - he is inserting it in pee pee. Had a prescription filled for my son here. They verified the address and information and I drove home with it. Opened the bag and I found a bottle for 270 1mg Clonazepam addressed to a completely different woman. Information on the outside of the bag was completely correct and the bottle on the inside was clearly not for a 12 year old boy. How is this place even still allowed to be in business? I did take photos but for the other individuals privacy I won't post them. These people could have killed my son. read more

This might be THE worst Walgreens pharmacy on the face of this earth. There is rarely less than 6 cars in the drive thru line and another 12 inside. Doesn't matter the day or time, they are understaffed and so incredibly slow. I just waited for 30 mins in the store with one person ahead of me in line to pickup a script, no one even looked at us. I left the store, dropped 2 of my 3 kids at school and came back. Waited in the drive thru line only to find out they wrote the script for the wrong family member (confirmed mistake by Walgreens and not the Dr) and now they can't give it to me and I have to wait another 15-20 mins for them to re-bag and label the meds for the correct family member. The lady at the window was incredibly rude rather than apologetic for their mistake. I've said it 100 times, but today it's forsure - I'm never coming back here again. Don't waste your time filling scripts here, I'm sure there are other great pharmacies around. read more

While the store is fine, the pharmacy is a complete mess. Drive thru lines for pickups are crazy long, and often cars will just sit for 20-30 minutes before someone inside pays attention. Definitely switching pharmacies because of this. read more

It's not fair but I dropped the stars on this Walgreens because of how awful the parking lot was. You can't see at night because the lights blind you and barely illuminate the lot. Signage is awful. In general I thought I was going to accidentally plow through pedestrians when trying to see if Walgreens was actually there. I would feel bad about giving a bad review on this place based on their parking lot but it's a friggin Walgreens okay they won't mind and I happened to be using the parking lot to go there. They should complain about this review to the property manager because those lights need to change. read more

The pharmacy is okay,but expensive. Don't ever buy anything on sale - it's always a problem. They scan the original price, then aren't able to figure out how to fix it when you SHOW them the sale price ticket on it but it scanned at 3x the sale price. The check out people are dumb as rocks and even the manager couldn't figure this simple thing out - they just don't listen. By the time he wanted me to pay $71 for merchandise that was actually $50, I told them to just keep it and walked out. I'm done with them since this is the second time it's happened. read more

Barabara - who mostly works the drive through- is very rude and essentially inept. She on multiple occasions has told me she cannot renew my prescription as I have had a change in insurance. She's the only one who tells me this - there has been no change and my insurance works everywhere else. Too bad this is my closest pharmacy. I will happily travel to other Walgreens to avoid having to deal with Barbara denying my prescription coverage. What a joke. She has no business in a customer facing role. read more

Service in drive thru is pathetic, don't expect to be greeted or fast service anytime day or night.

The pharmacy at this location is extremely frustrating. Prescriptions are rarely ready despite giving them hours to fill. It seems like they often do not check their voicemail or faxes, which seems like a fundamental part of being a pharmacy. Recently I tried calling for an hour to see if my prescription was ready. Never got a human to pick up. When I arrived at the pharmacy and discovered my prescription was not ready, I said.. "I tried to call." I got the response, "we were a bit busy so we were not answering the phone." Huh?!? So now I can sit here for 30mins and wait for you to fill this because you decided to stop answering calls from your patients??? The pharmacists themselves are a mixed bag, but mostly extremely short and rude. The one thing this pharmacy has going for itself is the drive through. Regardless, we're switching pharmacies. read more

The employees at this Walgreens have been so helpful to me during this pandemic. Tim responded to my calls for necessities by gathering the items needed, charging my credit card, and bringing them to my car . I needed Gatorade for my daughter who was recovering from the virus and he was very thoughtful in making sure I got exactly what was needed. Walgreens is Walgreens. They are convenient and usually quick. I can be in and out, if I am focused, in a matter of minutes usually. This is the place in Western Springs where you can get that birthday card, poster board for school project, gum, cough medicine, milk or batteries. They also have a decent selection of chocolate candy bars, mind you, not just the Hersey kind. Lindt, etc... The pharmacy is usually well staffed and you can quickly go in and pick up your prescription. You can always get the Walgreen brand of over the counters for a good price and I have never had a problem with them. During the holidays, they are of course stocked with lots of Christmas items, decent stocking stuffers for the little ones. Also nice for your Easter Candy, etc... I do like in March they usually have SouthSide Irish shirts that have the goofiest looking leprechaun but makes the best gift for like $5. Drive through pharmacy nice to have but check the hours. read more
