There was an order women (60s) working that was so dismissive to a young lady who politely asked question. It was evident to all in the store that another associate apologized to the girl. The snobbery and rudeness of the older women was shocking to me. No one should be treated with such little regard. I wish I knew the associated name I would call her out, but I just left the store after the incident. read more

Bluemercury is my go to place for skincare and makeup needs. Today was my first time shopping at the Hinsdale location. The store is attractive, clean and busy with customers. I was immediately greeted by sales associate Heidi. She was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the product I purchased. Not impressed. Thank God there is online shopping available. They really profile you at this location. If you're in for a quick small purchase, they don't bother giving you good customer service- in fact, I don't even think they know what good customer service is. Laura, the manager is so rude and judgmental. In fact, most of the staff here sucks. Before you know it, they'll be out of business like most smaller stores in the area. read more

Blue Mercury is my go to if I'm out of make up and need it fast. I can park right outside, and run in and run out. No trying to find a place to park in a busy mall..its super easy, and one stop shopping. Raul, ( Hope I got the spelling of his name right) was wonderful. I brought my daughter in last month to have someone teach her how to do her makeup. He was extraordinary. Made her feel like a princess. He recommended Bobbi Brown, and we ended up buying the foundation, powder, eyeliner, and mascara. We should have taken a before and after. She looked amazing! This was a girl who swore she would never wear foundation or eyeliner, but to her SURPRISE and MINE, she absolutely loved the new look. If you ever want to have your makeup done, go to him! He is by far, an artist. And he can take a beautiful face and make it more beautiful!! Run, don't walk, into this place! You will DEFINITELY leave happy!! read more

Forget Blue Mercury! The service and overall customer service experience at Blue Mercury's Hinsdale, Illinois location was terrible,I had gone to a different Blue Mercury a few months before and had a great experience so I was looking forward to going to the Hinsdale location. I was looking for some new products and was hoping to get some assistance from the staff. The first person at encountered dismissed me when I asked about a birthday e-mail I had recently received from the company . She pointed to two other staff members and told me to talk to them. I went to the make up and began looking around and trying some of the testers. I waited a little while until a older staff member asked if she could help me with minimal enthusiasm.i asked about a few of the products and my color choices. She was not interested in helping me. I could have chosen any color in the makeup and she would have told me it looked good. She was snooty and made me feel uncomfortable. I purchased some products and I found out the birthday gift from Blue Mercury was a mini service I needed to schedule. I asked as I was leaving for a card with the location so phone number so I could schedule the appointment. I couldn't wait to get out of the store where I spent a fair amount of money. I felt very uncomfortable and essentially received no help. I reached out to the corporate customer service. That was an utter waste of time. Later when I looked at the card from the Hinsdale location, the phone number wasn't even on the card. My advice. Don't waste your time and money buying products at Blue Mercury. I don't know where their salespeople get their snotty, bad attitude. I recently went to Nordstrom and purchased cosmetics and Jo Malone products (which Blue Mercury also carries) The service was wonderful at Nordstrom and the salesperson was very nice and gave me several samples with my purchase! I would rather spend my money at a place with nice, helpful people. read more

Hanadi is a full time esthetician at Bluemercury and she is AMAZING. I have had lots of waxing services over the years and Hanadi is by far the best. She makes you feel so comfortable during the appointment and is so patient. For a Brazilian wax, Hanadi makes you feel so calm that you almost forget what she is doing. Also, the wax used in the Salon is awesome! Takes out all the hair and is not painful at all. Honestly, Hanadi is so good at her job that I no longer dread the idea of getting a wax because she actually makes it an enjoyable experience. read more

Even bigger than the one in Lincoln Park!! This is one of my all time favourite stores. I had THE best facial ever today by Nancy... she was even written up in the Tribune! She does everything from microderm to lash tints and waxing... and with access to all of the best products from the store will recommend what would be best suited for your skin. Megan did my make up for a special event and made me look stunning. The only complaint regarding Bluemercury's policy is they charge $20 for applying lashes! Really? I just purchased the lashes from you and dropped another $200 on products. The least you could do is waive the the application fee like Sephora! read more

If you asked me what rating I would give B.M. before today, it would have been 3 or 4 stars. I have been a very good customer for the past few years. I have had many eyebrow & bikini waxes over the years. Today may be my last time there, after the aesthetician removed a layer of skin over my left eyelid. Super painful & ugly. I had to put antiobiotic ointment over the wound. I intend to address this with management tomorrow! I have always thought their return policy was poor as they will not refund your money paid for products they sell...store credits only. read more

I love having this store in Hinsdale as I do not have to travel far. Nice selection of products, watch it tho! a lot of them contain sulfates and EDTA! Friendliness is important to me and lately I feel that I am just bothering the staff if I come in for small purchases. They are much more focused on making big sales to new customers. Great selection of products! I'm very glad to see that they carry Bobbi Brown and NARS. The staff seemed to know a lot about the products. For a "local" business, the customer service wasn't as personal as I would've liked it to be... but was satisfactory. I don't believe they offer makeup applications, which is a downside. read more

Hanati was an ANGEL -- I felt so comfortable during my Brazilian and she's so sweet and funny too! She makes sure that you know what she's going to do before she does it so there's no surprises, and she's really quick and efficient. The wax barely hurt at all and it was all over before I knew it.
