Horribly bad customer service. Most of the employees of the pharmacy are rude, lazy and unhelpful.

I know they think I'm a drug addict or alcoholic because of the meds I take and that is why they are treating me like a drug seeker. It's not the first time this happened to me at a compounding pharmacy. My prescription price was raised $25 without notice. I was already paying $125 out of pocket. LDN is prescribed for many reasons I'm disabled from medical negligence. My emails have not been answered as to why the price has gone up. Nobody in that pharmacy has been kind.

I walked in and was warmly greeted by Steve, the pharmacist. I was so taken aback I thought he must be talking to someone else but no. The effusive greeting was for me. Nice. My doctor had called in the prescription so it was there and waiting for me. Steve took the time to tell me what it was, how I should take it and mentioned a number of side effects that I could have from the meds. Not unusual for a pharmacy but this guy was just so darn nice in the way he did it! The walls of this small shop are full of items to purchase from therapeutic stockings, to bandages, to cold meds and other drug store type items. They even have a small cooler stocked with juices and waters which was great as it enabled me to begin taking my prescription immediately. Another plus? There is free valet parking out front so you can jump out of your car and be in and out in a flash (especially helpful when you aren't feeling well) This place probably gets all of its business from the doctors that are in the building that it occupies, as there is no outside signage, and other drug stores may be more convenient. And like other drug stores- they take insurance so this was no more expensive than where I usually get my scripts filled. But for that small town feel of a real pharmacy, without all the big box hype, Elm Plaza Pharmacy with Steve at the helm is a perfect choice.

The pharmacy manager is a condescending prick who will YELL at you when you question their authority. Even though you are a pharmacy manager, you still have NO DAMN right to YELL at a customer over the phone. Regardless of the situation, you don't yell at the customer over the phone. I replied that I would arrive "in 10 minutes" and arrived on time. Once you arrive you send an "I'm here" and theoretically they bring you your pre-paid order, hence Curb-Side. I waited the required 5 minutes then called the phone number to theoretically tell someone I am here. No Answer. I walked into the store and straight up to the counter for the Curb-Side person. She even had the shirt on identifying her as the person who did not bring out my order...maybe she didn't notice the "I'm here" because she was on her personal cell phone. Matter of fact, she did not notice I was standing there until her coworker said her name to get her attention. Apparently at Walgreens "working" at work is optional. She not only didn't bring out my order, but she had to go to the back of the store to get it. So much for Curb-Side being a functional option.

Absolutely Inexcusable Treatment -- Walgreens Hinsdale (Willowbrook Road)…read more I recently visited this Walgreens to refill a critical eye drop prescription for my advanced eye disease. This isn't a casual medication -- missing doses risks irreversible vision loss. I called ahead at noon, spoke directly with a technician, confirmed they had my drops in stock, and was assured one would be held for me. I confirmed twice. My doctor also called earlier to make sure everything was set. I arrived promptly at 7:15 PM, only to be told they had nothing on hand. I patiently explained that I had spoken to someone earlier, gave my name (Lee Robinson), and asked them to check. For 30 minutes, I waited while they attempted to reach the technician I had spoken with. Understandably, mistakes happen -- but what unfolded next was unacceptable. For the next 45 minutes, I begged for help identifying any nearby location that could fill my prescription tonight. Instead of providing clear answers, the staff simply rattled off Walgreens locations without providing addresses or verifying inventory. When I asked which stores were open late, they vaguely pointed me to a few -- but again, no real help, just dismissive answers as if I was interrupting their evening. At no point did anyone -- especially the head pharmacist, Tanya -- show even basic empathy or urgency. I wasn't treated like a patient, or even a human being. I was treated like an inconvenience. Tanya repeatedly ignored my questions, avoided eye contact, and carried on with other refills while I stood there desperately trying to ensure I wouldn't miss my medication. Walgreens -- you are in healthcare. People don't come to you for fun. We come because our health depends on you doing your job. I didn't choose to have a disease that steals my sight. I didn't choose to rely on these drops to stay alive, functional, and able to see my kids grow up. But your staff made it abundantly clear that my situation wasn't important enough to warrant even minimal effort. The complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic human decency displayed here was disgusting. Walgreens, you should be ashamed. I will never return to this location.
