I don't usually go to other Walgreens because I'm pretty loyal to my neighborhood one, but I stopped in here because I needed Chapstick, and I'm happy I did. The store was super clean, organized, and well-stocked. I especially loved that they keep the clearance items up front near the register. It makes it so easy to spot good deals. I even found Pantene hairspray for only 93 cents, which honestly made my day. The staff was friendly and everything felt calm and easy while I shopped. The pharmacy technician who works at 10:30 am on Wednesday not only did not ask for my ID once, I also caught her kicking around the medications while she was looking for mine. That's not someone I would trust keeping my meds safe. I won't be using this Walgreens as my pharmacy anymore. read more

I don't review things often but I had a really negative interaction with a pharmacy tech tonight. My objective in sharing this experience is to hopefully encourage the staff here to practice both compassion and stress management versus taking things out on the staff. I work in both client and patient services in the veterinary field and while I understand human med/pharm and animal med/pharm are different, clients and interactions are quite the same. You're helping people who are coming to you because something is wrong. Sometimes they are stressed, sometimes they are frustrated, sometimes they are tired and they take it out on you. Especially with the pandemic, I understand how battered these technicians can become. They take daily abuse. I get it. Like legitimately I do, because that's what happens to me in my position as well. I say this to highlight that I go out of my way to vmbe patient, kind, and polite to all client-facing staff, even when it is not reciprocated back. Tonight I came to pick up meds for my husband and my daughter. Both have been really sick for weeks with bronchitis. I'm sick too, but I'm Mom, so I take care of everyone. The pharmacy us normally open later but they were closing at 5pm today. I made it with just a minute to spare and the pharmacy tech at the register told me to hurry up and slide into the gate if I needed help. I thanked her and did. When she helped me, I asked for the meds for both my husband and my daughter. Only my husband's was ready. The tech hastily said I could go to the 24 hr pharmacy for my daughter. All I asked was if there was any way they could have it now, since it's just an ointment. It just needs a label, no counting. I said please, I was polite, I didn't raise my voice, I tried offering a smile. The pharmacy tech stopped what she was doing, held her hand out at me, snapped "Ma'am" at me and raised her voice at me. I am autistic and social interaction is difficult for me in "normal" situations and even more difficult in stressful situations or conflict. I tried apologizing and said I wasn't trying to cause her a problem, I was only asking, but she just kept raising her voice over me and drowning me out. I immediately shut down and started welling up with tears. The gentleman next to me was kind enough to ask if I was okay and said the woman was being mean to everyone. I will say that this particular Technician has, in the past, been rude before as well--to myself and I've seen her be rude to other customers. She does not usually have a lot of patience. While I sat there and tried not to have a full-blown panic attack, she asked me to tell her my phone number from across the room. I tried to tell her but my voice kept breaking and making me raise my voice and yell to her only further caused me anxiety. I couldn't look at anyone. I had to call my husband when I was done so I didn't have a full blown panic attack. I'm telling this experience because as an autistic person and just as a human in general, I am imploring this person and other people in this pharmacy to remember that you chose to work with the public. You chose to work in medicine. You will deal with people who do not understand your processes, who are sick, who are stressed, who have special needs. You have no idea what's going on in their lives or what they're going through. So I implore you to do what I ask my toddler to do when they're having a moment--stop, breathe, and respond vs. react. I'm sorry you were having a bad day and I'm sorry if people before me were rude to you. I didn't deserve to be treated that way either. read more

For pharmacy only, so just to begin I've worked in Stockton Kaiser pharmacy one for almost 20 years now so I know my ins and outs of the pharmacy today I was texted/emailed. My medication was ready for pick up so I go over to your pharmacy after searching for about 30 minutes someone comes up to me and says oh we're sorry your med was scanned ready by mistake. It's too early. What an inconvenience that was. it is a controlled substance so I understood. I was kind of surprised myself that it was ready so I said OK that's fine. I'll come back tomorrow and pick it up. Then she proceeds to tell me it's not due till the 13th. It was picked up on May 14 for a 30 day supply and you can pick up a controlled substance one day early May has 31 days in it so if by my calculations now you can correct me if I'm wrong if I pick up on May 14, my husband starts his meds on May 15. I count 30 days that shows June 13 and they allow you to pick up a controlled substance one day early that would be June 12 doesn't take a mathematician to figure that out anyway she proceeded to continue to argue with me for another 15-20 minutes after the inconvenience of me coming all the way down there because there was a glitch in the system that scanned my med ready for pick up when it really wasn't, Every time I go to this pharmacy there is always a problem. Your techs are not knowledgeable at all. She was rude and and unapologetic. Basically just wanted to pass the buck and have me talk to someone the following day. and when I asked her about May having 31 days, she said oh we don't do that. We don't count days like that plus in February there was only 28 days so you should have two extra days and I'm like what what was she even talking about so My Husband just goes a whole day without medication cause you don't count 31 days or in your mind he must have two extra doses because there was only 28 days in February just so unprofessional, and a weird thing to say like I said, not knowledgeable. read more

Recently got into a car accident and had a Dr from the ER prescribe medication to pick up at this location. I came the next day around 12:30 and it was still not ready. I was told to come back in 30 minutes or before they go to lunch. (Their lunch is from 2-2:45). I came back literally 5 minutes before lunch time and was so scared that the drive thru would not help me. Surprisingly the tech still did and I was very grateful since I was in pain and needed the medication. She was nice and the experience was fast. It's definitely a hit or miss, but this visit I was pleased and thankful for their help. read more

Today has been one of the top 5 worst days of my life. I am so sidetracked and spacey. I walked into Walgreens to load money onto a card. The guy helping me was very nice, and very professional. After finishing my transaction my daughter and I left. We got all the way out onto hammer lane. A Walgreen is a Walgreens, right? There seems to be more Walgreens now than McDonalds...there are now three alone on Hammer Lane in Stockton. Why do I go to this location? It's closest to where I live. What sucks about this location? Just that...the location. Its on the corner of Hammer Lane and Kelly Drive. If you live in Stockton you know what kind of neighborhood Kelly Drive is. I don't always feel completely safe coming here. Plus they knocked down HAMMER SKATE to build this. Besides that, I come here mostly because of the pharmacy...this location isn't open 24 hours like the one down the street, but I really don't like going to Walgreens to get prescriptions at midnight anyways... The manager of the pharmacy here is awesome! He's a younger guy and every single time he has helped me the customer service was exceptional. i can't even give this store a "not good" rating. It was absolutely HORRIBLE! I waited in line at the pharmacy for 10 minutes to ask for help in finding something. They sent me to the wrong isle, but I still looked at the whole isle to find the item I needed. No one from the pharmacy came out to help. I went back to the pharmacy to find help again and finally the pharmacist (instead of the three other employees working in the back) came out to help, but he didn't know where it was either. This store is not enforcing the wearing of face coverings. When I shopped there the other day over half the people entering the store while I was there were not wearing face coverings. I am planning to shop elsewhere. When I asked one of the managers she said that they cannot refuse to serve people who need medications, even though they have drive through available. Today I went in for a pack a cigarettes and of course they asked for my id even though I'm 61 PLEASE!regardless i always ask that they not run it just verify my age. You can verify my age without scanning my drivers license her answer "because we can" isn't good enough for me. She then proceeded to state well do you want to speak to my manager? No I said, but she kept right on talking about procedure and getting fired irritating me more. I finally said look I get it your doing your job but I'm done talking about it to someone who can't change policy and I'm getting angry and your badgering me now so let it go I'll write to your corp. headquarters. She was too much I'm sure I irritated her too but I got her point she didn't need to keep going. It started too feel like a lecture which I didn't need or require, In this day and age with identity fraud I don't like to give out more information than necessary to purchase something. They already track your purchases with the rewards card now this. I have been to several walgreens in California and in other states. The experience I had today was THE WORST experience I have ever had at a walgreens. I went into the store to use the restroom and purchase a drink. I saw there was a long line at the counter, so I looked for an available associate to assist me. Then, I saw an associate leave the counter. I asked if she could let me in the restroom, and she waved her hand at me and said in a rude manner, "You'll have to wait a second." A customer in line commented to me that she must be having a bad day. The customer also told me they were waiting for their photos that they ordered at 1 pm, and now 4 pm, the manager barely started working on their "1 hour" photo order when they walked in! I looked around and could tell the employees and customers were disgruntled by her. She seemed to set a negative tone for the employees, and I found out from a different associate that she is a manager. I would not want to work under this manager, and I feel bad for anyone who has to encounter or work with her. Once I entered the restroom, there were no seat covers, no hand soap, and no paper towels, and the restroom was a mess. The store had a line, but the store was not that busy at 4 in the afternoon for the bathroom to be in this state. I called Walgreens corporate, and hopefully, they will handle the situation accordingly. I'm just thankful this was not the store manager. I hope this gets the stores attention. I stopped at this store today specifically to buy "Not Your Mother's Knotty to Nice Detangler," a highly rated haircare product that I read, after an online search, was available at Walgreens. I looked up and down a couple of aisles but did not find it, or any other brand of hair detangler, for that matter (although there were several detangler hair brushes). During my search in the nearby aisles looking for a detangler, I heard three or four overhead speaker announcements, loudly calling for "Customer Service Associate needed in the Cosmetic aisle." Well, first of all, I did not ask anyone for assistance in the Cosmetic aisle. And it appeared to me that I was the only visible customer in the store at that time. Second, no one ever approached me to ask me if I needed help finding anything. I may have spent about 10 minutes looking for the detangler, and since I did not find it, I left the store. There was a male staff person standing by a register near the front of the store, watching me as I was leaving, but he did not say a word as I exited the store. He could have at least asked me if he could assist me, or said, "Have a nice day," or something... That entire shopping experience was rather odd and felt uncomfortable to me, which may be why there were no other customers shopping there. After thinking it over, I decided I was probably being secretly monitored for suspected shoplifting. Let me finish by saying that I will never return to that store, or any Walgreens again. If I could give Walgreens a zero (0) star rating, or better yet, a negative five (-5) star rating, I would. There are plenty of well-stocked, customer friendly, sales oriented stores in the area. This is a newer store right by my local gym and not far from my house. It's located at the corner of Kelly Drive and Hammer Lane. I've tried it a few times in the past but I needed a few strands of X-mas lights for my tree so I ran over and they had what I needed and it was on sale. I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the counter person was. I have never gotten this type of attention before at a Walgreens. Unrushed, she explained everything to me about their rewards program, gave me some good tips and sent me on my way with a friendly greeting. Walgreens is like a tumor that is sprouting on every five blocks. This Walgreens seems small compared to other Walgreens I've been to. I don't like the placement of check-out though. All cash registers are on one counter alongside the window with one line. I hate standing in a single line and having to pay attention to which cashier is calling me--I'd rather be daydreaming . It's like waiting for your # to be called at the DMV. Why can't we just pick a cashier to line up at like a normal grocery line?? Oh well, whatevers.. Other than my nitpickin' check-out problem, this Walgreens gets some ghetto Kelley Drive folks along with customers that come in with workout clothes smelling like a sweaty gym sock.
