I'm disappointed with how my recent return was handled. I purchased the product in NYC and only realized after returning home that I was given the incorrect shade. I brought it back to the store, but I was only two days past the 30-day return window. I understand the return policy, but given that I received the wrong shade, I was hoping the manager would make an exception. Love this location! The girls are SO sweet and though I know the brands decently well these make up artists are RIGHT there happy to answer any of your questions while being incredibly knowledgeable and so very sweet! It's so refreshing when someone loves their job and is EXCITED to help you like these girls. I swear I can get lost in here and they are so helpful guiding of where brands are and what highlighter they're wearing what trends are up to date as we as women know the make up world/beauty industry is consistently evolving and what not. Their Patrick Ta make up brand display was looking immaculate which I LOVE. It's a smaller but very fast growing, popular, and excellent quality brand them always having everything in stock, organized and neat? Absolutely marvelous. I got another one of their beautiful blushes, and some skincare. What a wonderful location!! Service varies from time to time, I usually have a good experience. On one occasion I was in need of a lipliner that was of similar shade to an older one I had (I had gotten it from another country). I asked an employee, I believe her name was Destiny, and she was so kind. She brought me different options and we swatched them, kept looking until we found the closest match possible. Usually they have most things in stock which is a nice plus. The selection is good. I've also done in-store pick up a couple of times and it's always been a quick and easy process. On another occasion I picked up and it was the wrong item, the girl who helped me was so sweet and immediately went to grab me the correct item, doubled checked that it was the proper shade. I've only had one iffy experience which was when I asked someone for directions to a specific brand and she gave me some attitude. I really just didn't see it, didn't really understand the need for attitude. I like this Sephora, however, and will continue to shop here. I also love that it's next to Trader Joes! read more

I frequent this location because they always have what I need in stock and the employees here are always nice and helpful. Not to mention, this location is ideal because it's located in Lincoln center that houses good eats, Safeway, and Trader Joe's. Today I got matched for foundation and concealer. Vilma is awesome. I'm so excited we finally have our own Sephora that's not inside of JC Penney! I was always deterred from visiting that location because I really don't care to go to the mall. I am usually an Ulta girl but I do like having Sephora as an option as well because Ulta just doesn't carry some of those really high end brands like Charlotte Tillbury. Also, I feel that Sephora employees are far more knowledgeable about the products than the ones at Ulta. My visit was quick and I mostly browsed but so far the store looks very organized and clean. They are following all social distancing guidelines and have a system for only allowing so many people inside at a time. The lack of customer service, professionalism, and employee competence is really concerning at this location. This recent visit, I asked an employee by the fragrance section if I could purchase a fragrance through her (she had her payment device for card payers) with my card. She tells me to go in line and that when I get to the front, someone will then grab the fragrance for me. So I go in line, and when I make it to the front I tell the cashier that I'm purchasing fragrance. The cashier tells me to go back to the fragrance section and that someone will grab the fragrance and check me out on their device. *Mind you, I've already tried this method and was told to go in line. But nevertheless, I go back to the fragrance section, show the picture of the fragrance to this other rep from my phone. She proceeds to take a picture of it on her own phone, which is fine with me--I figure the more clarity the better. She comes back in a minute with a different fragrance. I show her the actual bottle of the fragrance in their store. She goes back and returns a minute or so later with an entirely different fragrance (diff. bottle, color, etc.). I show her again both the actual bottle in their store and the picture on my phone (the one she also took a photo of), hoping to reach clarity with her as she seems to be having a hard time identifying the fragrance from their collection. She appears to get frustrated as she sighs and says that this other bottle is the only other option and they don't have it. *The app literally shows the item is in stock at their store, and this employee has clearly shown incompetence at being able to identify the product even if it's in front of her. I was able to get the item at another store in town. They were surprised to hear that the previous store clerk reported that they didn't have it as the item again showed that it was in stock. read more

Nope! I have been here twice. The first time when it first opened and again last week. The first time was great, but this last time solidified my decision to never return. This is why I prefer to order everything online. They are unprofessional and rude. No one greeted me upon arrival or even acknowledged me. I was walking back and forth around the store, looking for a certain product and not one person asked if I needed help. The lady saw me!!! One nice older lady walked up to me, brought me a basket, and we talked for a min. She probably thought I was stealing lol. At check out, the cashier was rude! She was kind of nice at first, but Just before she gave me the receipt, her mood changed. Like wth? I grabbed my receipt and walked away. As I was walking out, two women that worked there were chatting by the door, they didn't say, "have a nice day" or anything. The service at this location is inconsistent and stock varies. My last visit a woman named Jennifer was very kind and explained the store's current promotion. At the register a woman with a chin piercing and dark hair was very kind and inviting to the customer ahead of me. When I got up, it was like a light switch. She was disengaged and seemed bothered by helping me. My visit before that I noticed an employee doing a concealer shade match and placed the applicator directly on the customer's face. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I had scheduled a makeup appointment with enough time in advance for an anniversary party I am attending tomorrow Saturday. I just got a call today, Friday at 3:34pm from Sephora letting me know that they didn't have an artist for the time of my already scheduled appointment. That they were very sorry. That all their other artists are completely booked with graduations. That's all they said. I just couldn't believe it! I am very disappointed!! I asked her what am I supposed to do now? She just replied, "we are very sorry". Unfortunately, that doesn't help me, I said. The lady didn't even offer anything else to try to ease the situation. Terrible service the several times I've come to this Stockton Sephora store. Employees are lazy and unhelpful. I was waiting for about 10 mins in the designated online order pickup area for someone to tell me to get in the main line. The line was long took another 10-15 mins. If I'm ordering online shouldnt I be able to pick up my order without the long lines? What's the point of line ordering then. I will just get my orders shipped to my house from now on or go to ULTA. This location never has fragrances in stock and testers are always empty, it's a little frustrating. I go in the store specifically to look for a new perfume of my liking and i always walk out empty handed and it's always a waste of my time because the testers are sitting out empty. I'm also not a big fan of their customer service here. I myself work in customer service and understand some days you don't have the energy to be around people or sometimes you're having a bad day but every single time I come in the store I have an unpleasant experience with their employees. I don't really care to not be greeted it's not a big deal to me since I like to browse on my own but when I do need assistance it's hard to get help or even find available employees. Everyone's standing around talking to each other and seem annoyed when you ask for help or they aren't very knowledgeable about the product . I always feel like I'm better off going to a different location or just ordering online. Went today which is a Thursday and got there a few minutes after opening. To be honest was a bit nervous to go to this location due to the bad reviews regarding customer service. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, asked if we were looking for something in particular and offered a shopping basket. We (my daughter and I) were actually greeted several times throughout the store and always asked if we were doing ok or needed help (and no we didn't feel like we were being followed or watched despite our beautiful brown skin). Anyway as we were shopping found out that there were 2 gentlemen speaking to the employees. Appeared that they may be district managers or so. Could that be why they were so well staffed for a Thursday morning? Could it also be why they were extremely nice? Possibly? But in any case, on this visit the customer service was definitely there. Store was also clean and pretty well stocked as well especially for a smaller store. Plan to visit again and hopefully the customer service will be the same. read more

I came in and asked for a fragrance sample and they said they no longer do that while they looked at me like I'm a social pariah. Then the employee suggested I purchase a smaller size of the perfume I'm looking for and when she went to the back to get it, she said they're sold out. -__- So I ended up purchasing the discovery set of fragrance, and let's be honest, they're the sample size which used to be free, now companies just want to nickel and dime you on everything, the checkout price was higher than what was labeled. I brought it to their attention and just waited a while for them to make the adjustment. Next time, I'll just purchase online without the hassle of waiting around and being told no and get glares when I ask for a sample like I'm a homeless asking for money. read more

This place really changed my perspective. I applied they called me back for an interview. But unfortunately I didn't answer so I called everyday, left messages, left messages with coworkers, even spoke to I think was the manager and kept getting brushed off. They would say they would call back so I would wait a day then call again and again nothing. I did it for two weeks, when I finally had enough because it shouldn't be that hard to get someone to reach me back or give me a answer to schedule an interview. TI get an email saying they've chosen someone else which upsetted me because you didn't even give me a chance. I think that's very unprofessional. Even though I live across the street I'll just be going to another location from now on since my service isn't valuable for what so ever reason. I was really looking real forward to that scholarship and the fact I didn't even get a chance when I tried to reach out multiple times is upsetting. Went in there super excited to pick up a few things before my trip, couldn't find what I was looking for so I was trying to find a employee but the store was pretty empty so I was confused. When I am in town, I will go here! I am so happy they finally opened a Sephora on Pacific close to my boyfriend's workplace. I usually go to the mall JCPENNYS just to go to Sephora. I always get greeted here and all the friendly employees. I finally got some new liquid blush that I am dying to try! Also, helping me find a liquid foundation match is so easy now! One of the employees, Jessica, helped me find a color match for rare beauty. She was patient with me answering questions that I had. All the employees are patient and nice! Upon walking into the store I was greeted in a friendly way by the lady at the front. That was really nice, she asked what I was looking for today, and I let her know that I was wondering if I could buy some things with the points I've earned and she let me know that I did not need a purchase to use my points for the products. There was a specific product I wanted to get with my points and she did let me know that it might have been online even though I did get it from this location last week. So I go to the cashier and she was so nice to the gentleman in front of me and was smiling and cracking jokes with him. Then when it was my turn her attitude completely changed. I then asked if I could get products with my points, I even asked if they still had the product I wanted and she said it was online probably. So instead I got a different product with my points. I asked her for two of the same product and she was confused about which product I wanted even though she just grabbed it. Something about her seems off putting. The whole interaction was very unpleasant as if she did not want to help me and was judgmental because I wasn't purchasing anything and instead using points. At the end of this interaction there wasn't even a "thank you have a good day". The cashiers name was Valerie. I have over 2,000 points and I thought it was ok to use them since I did earn them. Terrible customer service! I scheduled an appointment to get my make up done in store for my maternity photos over. Month in advance. I took off work early and drove 30 mins to the location and when I got there they said we don't have a make up consultant on Mondays and there was nothing they could do for me. I was obviously very upset and asked why the system allowed me to schedule an appointment if they didn't offer this service on Mondays or why no one called me to let me know I could not get this service. I went to get PROFESSIONALLY color matched in November. I literally wore this makeup 3 times, when my son saw me who is a makeup artist for Chanel he said it was too pink and wrong undertones. Due to holidays and illness I didn't rush so I exceeded their 60 day return policy. But it was their error they are the so called professionals who obviously don't know what they're doing. This time I was advised to get a totally different shade they stated they could see the other shade was not right. I could understand if I was taking an empty bottle but it was almost full. Literally I only used it 3 times I don't wear foundation every day. I have been a loyal Sephora shopper getting my shampoo, conditioner, eyebrows makeup but no more I refuse from now on I'll go to Nordstroms. This happened to me with a gift card given to a relative who went to use it and found zero balance. They will neither secure their gift cards nor make it right when their customers are scammed. The Sephora is the best thing I ever dreamt of here in Stockton California. I was astounded when I heard Sephora was opening up. I was BALLS OF THE WALL crazy for it, it was like Chicago finally winning the World Series crazy. I lost my...sugar honey ice tea . I ended up talking with a sales associate whose name I can't remember but he patiently tried to help me find Clarins UV (sold out) then he showed me his favorite (Dr Gross UV) and let me apply a sample and the texture was great. Unfortunately he had just sold the last bottle to another customer but I found it at Kohl's Sephora for half off!
