Yesterday I went to Walgreens in Skokie on Oakton to get something for my cold. I normally get Mucinex DM because of a heart condition. The pharmacy no longer carries that, so I purchased Wal-Mucus D. The receipt clearly shows return value of the full amount. I brought the product home & checked with my doctor, who said NO! I went to return the product the next morning & was told I couldn't return the product & that I signed something stating that. $28 gone living on social security. Time to change pharmacies. read more

Walgreens as been a staple in Chicago since 1901. I took this picture to share Walgreen's legacy. I have been going to Walgreens for years. I love the parking options they have (large parking spots!). I especially love the extra points they offer and getting a coupon with your purchase is a plus. I signed up with their website to get my receipt emailed to me which is helpful since I am switching to paperless options. My go to activities at Walgreens: picking up snacks, printing my photos, getting gift/birthday cards and picking up items for my home. Staff is friendly and helpful. I live so close to Walgreens that I can walk there. read more

I attempted to contact this pharmacy to resolve an issue a patient had with a script written by my colleague. I was put on hold for over 35 minutes, then was put on a different hold for another few minutes before being hung up on. Not once did I speak to a staff member. This is unacceptable. read more

Conveniently-located Walgreens for the local Skokie-ians, this particular location is opened late, but not open 24 hours. The merchandise selection is also limited and unorganized, but I have been coming here for years to drop-off/pick-up prescriptions. The pharmacists are relatively nice and are efficient, but with a long wait, it's better to call ahead or come back at another time for the pick-up. There is a parking lot, but getting out onto Skokie Blvd or Church can be a little tricky with oncoming traffic. Pharmacy is messed up. Disorganized, inefficient, and internal staff issues. I went for vaccines. Had an appointment & arrived 15 min. early, but had to wait an hour (45 min. past my appointment time) even though there were 4 people working and no other customers for at least the last 1/2 hr. One staff member was rude and angry toward me without provocation. He and another staff member then got into a loud argument that had to be broken up by the pharmacist. The pharmacist said my 1 hour wait was was because his staff had not prepped the vaccines, so he had to do it himself. Pharmacist seemed like a nice person, but seriously, that issue should have been identified and addressed much earlier in the process. All in all I will never do another vaccine at that location. read more

The worst drug store. I waited more than an hour On the phone to talk to Someone in the pharmacy. They hung up and again I called and waited one hour and 35 minutes then they hung up. I called my doctor and changed my pharmacy. My doctor couldn't get through to give me my prescription. This place gave my brother and I a heart attack. read more

People are nice, but the trash laden storefront, worn pharmacy area, and neglected and decrepit bathrooms are off putting. Overall--dirty.

Pharmacist (Majid) is super-nice and helpful as can be. He remembers everyone's names and relationships to family members and is always cheerful no mater what hell is breaking loose with a million customers - everyone wanting instant attention and minimal English. read more

Daughter has a painful earache. Dropped off prescriptions at 4:00 told we could wait 30 minutes or come back in an hour. Took her home gave her Tylenol. Went back at 6:00. Told I would have to wait a " little while" 20 minutes later still not ready. I get mad and they finally put it together. It was sitting ready all the time. Get home only to find her most important ear drops are not in the bag. Call back and they tell us they are out of it! No one tells us, no one gives a shit. People are waiting and waiting everywhere. They Suck. Corporate needs to hang out there and fire them all. Lies, incompetence and no one cares. I told the store manager and he mumbled something about them always being too busy and running behind. CVS here we come. Saw the stock was down nearly 10% today, you can see why. Impossible to get you prescription on time. I just wasted an hour and a half waiting for my prescription which I never got. Just watched people come and leave without their prescriptions. This is very frustrating. This place is very disorganized!!! Never going back again!!!!!!! read more

I have no idea how in the world people are commenting about how good the pharmacy is. The pharmacists here have to be some of the rudest, most incompetent people I have ever meet. Let's start with them FLAT OUT lying to our faces when we went to get a prescription. We had been in earlier that day, and they said they received the prescription but needed to fill it. Came back an hour later. . Looked us stone-cold in the eye and said (quite rudely), "No. We never got this." After 15 minutes, found it in the printer. There is no possible way she just forgot, considering we had a long argument about it while we there a mere hour ago. Even if she had forgotten, she spoke to us like it was somehow our fault that she didn't see a prescription in the printer. The next day, I went to pick up another prescription. The prescription has a specific manufacturer on it. I cannot take another manufacturer, as I am allergic. They said they did have some in stock. Trying to figure out why they couldn't follow the actual prescription that specified the manufacturer. (Let me also point out that I had gotten a call the night before that the prescription was ready, but we still had to wait 15 minutes because they hadn't filled it yet). Another time, they were waiting on my insurance to approve a medication (which I'm sure you'll be surprised to hear, they already had- the pharmacy couldn't find the approval). But in the meantime- they told me it would take about 15 minutes. I waited for a full hour, then finally went to check. They said, "Oh, we got the order and approval about an hour ago, just after you came to pick it up. Did you want us to refill it?" What kind of baloney question is that? Obviously I want it filled. Never apologized or anything for making me wait. When I told them I was upset, they said, "That's just how we work here." Bottom line: Choose any other pharmacy. read more

I came in because I had my makeup done and needed to do a touch up. I didn't think Walgreen's would carry anything special but regular qtips. it turns out their studio 35 dual tip applicators were being what I had in mind! The cashier Khadeeja had been great friendly and professional. Their was a customer before who was looking for problems and handled it calmly and brought in a manager. She definitely makes this location stand out, I will definitely be coming back again! read more

This is a quick and easy. On the way home. Place is organized and well stocked. I've had to pick up my RX from the pharmacy multiple times and they are sometimes slower than what they first quote you. The staff is pretty helpful when it comes to locating items that I can't find. read more
