I have done business with Rite Aid for two years and never had a reason to switch until I moved here to SM. The transfer from my San Diego Rite Aid and the Santa Maria Rite Aid was a DEBACLE!! I went to Walgreens across the street and got stellar service & the clerk even saved $70 off my prescription by suggesting a program & she took the time to realize why I was there to begin with & suggest other OTC products that could help my condition. Very unorganized Covid testing. Waiting 49 minutes after an appointment for them to deny testing.

Pharmacy is terrible. After finding out that CVS didn't have the medication in stock, I went to Walgreens. I asked if they had the medication in stock and it took over 25 minutes just to find out if they have it. Then once they realized that they did, it took another 25 minutes to fill it. Meanwhile the person who needs it is at home post-surgery in pain. Zero urgency, zero coordination among the workers. There was a line of 9 people while I was there, not including myself. The nurse here doesn't know what she is talking about. I was advised by the doctor to go buy pedialax for my baby 8 months old , and give him half a dose . So when I got there it says 2-5 years old on the box, so I asked the nurse at Walgreens if I could give the half to my baby . She said " no this is not for babies , they make it for infants too( the company) and we don't have it in stock currently" . Guess what ? They don't make it for infants , but because of her answer I had to go to 3 different pharmacies in the middle of the night to find an " infant pedialax " for my baby's constipation. If you don't know the medication you sell in the pharmacy then I can only imagine you don't know anything so your advice was useless and very stressful for a mom who was looking for something that doesn't exist thanks to you. Never ever will I enter this place . Not only you charge the same thing 3 dollars more than target , you also don't know what the hell you are talking about and you made me wait with a baby who was in pain for 15 mins while you were shoving medication in boxes for other people. I have used this pharmacy for over 9 years. In the last two years they have become so overwhelmed with prescriptions that they never have them ready. Always an excuse; contacting Dr.,reviewing RX, out of stock. I can never reach them by phone. I have to constantly walk in, wait in line and ask about the RX. They then say oh sorry there was a mis up and we are working on it now. Then I wait another 15-20 min. for it to be filled. They really need to be honest and let people know they are overwhelmed! I do not recommend using this pharmacy. Go anywhere else. They are dishonest, overwhelmed, will not answer the phone and make you wait for 20 min in line every time you need a refill. I have been going here for YEARS for my prescriptions. I went in today and the girl at cash register up front she has a pierced lip was so rude to me and couldnt help me with anything. I thought retail was supposed to be about customer service? I work in customer service and believe me it's challenging but dang. This customer service makes me want to NEVER come back. I get my photos from here as well and I always have to wait by the photo booth forever.. and employees will walk right by me eating something or make a point not to make eye contact. Whoever is the hiring manager really needs to think about who they hire and make sure they have good customer service or train them to because I really love this store but the customer service sucks and I believe that should be number 1 in retail if you want your customers to refer and come back. read more

Gotten same 5 prescriptions for 2 years literally every month and I mean every month there is an issue with one prescription at the minimum causing multiple trips or dAtes on prescriptions pick ups to be messed up on the 30 day cycles because again always their issue I don't understand. stopped using pharmacy starting this month fed up with it read more

I recently switched to this pharmacy because frankly it had a drive through. Well that was a bust and didn't really work out at all. The pharmacy staff made me feel awful, the asked me tons of questions phot copied my ID and look my paper prescription. I came back 4 hours later for them to say sorry we can not fill this for you,, the pharmacists was joking around with other employees and he made me feel like a drug addict, I'm sorry I didn't know that filling prescriptions was that in incident for a pharmacist. I went in to get my prescription for test strips refilled. From the very beginning, I could tell that they didn't want to help me. Then, when I asked if they could find out if I qualified for a newer model, I was told to go online and find out. On my box, it said check online or ask your pharmacist. She told me I would have to get a prescription from my doctor and I replied that is not what it says on the box. Then, they blew me off and said they would not help which I could tell from the very beginning. If they are the only game in town, we are in trouble. I buy from Walgreens because we travel and they are located in places where we go but these folks are really sad!! I will go here only if I have to read more

There is something going on in that pharmacy. They are either incompetent or someone there is a theif. I was only given half of my pain meds, yet the count was checked twice? Unfortunately for me I did not find out untill I got home. The pharmacy manager is pleasant enough, but it was like talking to a brick wall. I will NEVER use them again. I dropped off a prescription and waited 1/2 hour. Then I get a call that they are not only out of the antibiotics, but they don't take Anthem Blue Cross from SB School District, one of the largest employers in the county. Go to Costco or Rite-Aid. read more

The pharmacy service in this store is a mess. There is always a line. And if you try to go through the drive through it's a long waiting time. Been coming here for the last 6 years and the service just getting worse and worse waiting in line for 35 minutes and still waiting!!!!

It's 9:30pm and we got up to the register where one guy was already waiting in front of us with no cashier around. We waited a couple of minutes before I decided to go find someone to help us. The girl I found called someone I believe named Crystal to come help us. She came up to the register and was very apologetic to the guy in front of us but when it came to us she didn't greet us other then asking for our phone number for the rewards. She then proceeded to check her notifications on her Apple Watch as our transaction completed, didn't ask us if we wanted our receipt and only asked if we "wanted all these coupons" still without looking up from her watch. We said no, and she said that we were all set while we had to reach over the counter to grab our two items from in front of her monitor. It was just oddly horrible service, it almost felt like a joke. This is my first review of a cashier and it's completely justified. read more

Six cars in the pharmacy drive through. Just wanted to DROP OFF a prescription for pick up later so I went inside. For some reason they had combined the 'pick up' line with the 'drop off' line. Nine people in line. After 5 minutes the same two people were at the counter. Left a little frustrated. Poorly managed or under staffed, I don't know, but I won't be going back there. read more

Dropped off my prescription after leaving urgent care. After waiting in line for at least 30 minutes, the young man at the counter takes my prescription and tells me to come back in an hour. Not wanting to drive home and then drive back again I did somethings in the area and came back an hour later. Waited again in line for 15 minutes. I was told my prescription wasn't quite ready. After the lady helping (not helping me) called the pharmacist over. They then decided they couldn't fill it because the physician didn't determine what strength of the medication ordered. They didn't bother to call. Told me the clinic probably wasn't open and they would called in the morning. I left in tears, still in pain and found some over the counter medication to try to help in the meantime. I called the urgent care which is still open and they said they were just waiting for them to call them back to verify the strength. I wasn't the only they gave the run around to. They really need to get their act together. I plan to find another pharmacy read more

Had such a great experience here last night. I needed one photo promoted for a special occasion today! I called first they said I can do it so I headed to the store around 9:30. I did my one photo order and it said it would be ready for 40 mins or so! Which was odd to me! There was nobody there except for a few employees! I headed to the nearest employee and asked if he can possibly print it for me because I didn't want to have to come back in 40 minutes! He said no problem and got to work on my request! His name was hector and he was sooo very friendly. He had a few technical issues with the terminal and had mentioned he was new. I did not even care that he was new his friendliness made this minor issue not a problem at all! When another coworker came over to help he realized there was a technical issue as well so I ended up checking out in the front! I am from San Luis Obispo, CA and Morro Bay, CA. I have condo's in both for convenience (I am an attorney). Anyway, a long trial went on in Santa Maria for about two months and I was forced to have some scripts moved to Walgreens in Santa Maria. I alway wanted to try them out since I had only used Rite Aid and CVS in the past. Walgreens is a great place. Customer service is excellent at this location. The prices are still not as low as CVS but they are fair. Rite Aid is just ridiculously expensive for generic meds. I give five stars to Walgreens. Probably the best in Santa Maria but if you are close to SLO, go to CVS. You always get cheap meds, even without insurance. Just steer clear of Rite Aid. read more

Walgreens if the fastest and most reliable pharmacy I have been to. Even someone as cheap as me is content with the prices there. The food there also makes a pretty satisfying snack. How many times has a pharmacy messed up your prescription? Or there was too much time taken on your prescription? If any of the above sounds familiar, look for a different freaking pharmacy! Walgreens is the pharmacy for you; go there for your next prescription pick up. Seventy percent of Americans live within five miles of a Walgreens. (Pharmacy) I was placed on an automatic hold for 55 minutes, when the woman answered she placed me on hold immediately after except she instead hung up on me. I was going to switch to their pharmacy but they have the worst pharmacy customer service and that is well known. I switched to this pharmacy because of the drive through. I was prescribed medication after a major surgery. The pharmacist on duty asked that I come in because she needed to speak with me. I had just had major surgery! Had to go in with my mother. She was horrible. She questioned me about the medication as if she was questioning why I needed narcotics after a surgery. Not just a simple procedure mind you! The only reason I gave the 3 stars was because I called and spoke with the manager/pharmacist. He apologized for her behavior and also informed me she was no longer there. Didn't say if she was let go. That's not what I wanted. She simply needed to be spoken to. Maybe she had. Several times? The pharmacist I spoke to today was amazing. Very helpful. Hopefully I'll be able to give 5 stars one day. read more

Terrible customer service! I'm recovering from a c-section and very uncomfortable. I put my toddler and infant in the car and headed out at 10:00pm to the drive thru pharmacy to fill my rx. There was a car in the closest lane so I pulled in to the second lane. The pharmacy tech was talking to the customer in the closest lane for approx 10-15 min while I waited my turn, in the mean time, two cars had pulled up behind that customer. Finally the first customer drove away and the tech said to me, "the speaker you're at doesn't work very good so you're going to have to pull in to the other lane (which would make me third in line rather than being helped right then)" and she proceeded to send my rx paper back to me. I started to tell her that all I was doing was dropping it off (I was going to come back an hour later to pick it up) so there was nothing further she needed from me besides my rx paper (she had all my info b/c I have filled Rx's there before) but she hung her receiver up while I was still talking! So incredibly rude. This lady is Hispanic, mid 40's, with bangs. She is consistently the rudest one there. read more
