I arrived at 6:00 PM (the Pharmacy closing time) to pickup a prescription, and waited while the car in front of me received their prescription. As I pull up to the window, they literally closed the window in my face. I went inside and was told they just closed the register. I talked with the Manager about my experience, and his response was they close promptly at 6:00PM. After using Walgreens as my pharmacy for over 40 years, I am now looking for a new pharmacy. The value that Walgreens once provided is no longer there. Tonight my wife goes without medicine, because the Customer is no longer a priority. Looking on GoodRX, I see the HEB pharmacy next door and Walmart down the street both have my wife's medication 30% cheaper. Tomorrow I will make my last visit to Walgreens to pickup my wife's prescription. Life is too short to be using a business that no longer values you as a customer. read more

If I could give a zero for the pharmacy I would. To consistently tell me my medication isn't common so it isn't readily available and always out of stock is a load of BS. I have been getting the same prescription every month for over a year with this being a problem 95% of the time. Medications necessary for people to function and they just tell you "Our apologies we can get it to you in the next few days". There have been one or two amazing people in my time coming to this pharmacy but beyond that, this place should be the LAST place you decide to bring your medications. read more

The pharmacy needs major help. One it is extremely hard to get ahold of someone due to the limiting automated system. Once you get access to talk to someone you will be on hold for a while it took 50 minutes to talk to someone for 3 minutes when only 2 people where ahead of me. Keep in mind I did this in the evening and when I went in person it was very slow. I don't see how it could take so long with so many people behind the desk and so little customers. They ending up only needing 30 mins to fill my script but If I didn't call it could take days which has happened before read more

I'll be using HEB now, this was the last straw. They received my prescription, I called at 1 pm to get it prior to their closing for lunch hour at 1:30. She said she would get it ready before then. I arrived at 1:28, and they didn't have it ready. So now I'm waiting for 30 minutes with no one here, during my working day, as I don't live close by, for them to go and return for lunch, all because they didn't do what they said they would and assist a customer. read more

I've used Walgreens as a pharmacy for years and it only seems to get worse. Today I dropped off a prescription at 10am, they said it would be ready at noon. I get there at noon, it's not ready, and they say it'll be ready at 3. I get there at 4:30, still not ready. They say it'll be ready in an hour. I tell them I'm going to the gym nearby and that I'll come get them after I'm done. 2.5 hours later I show up, still not ready. It's now 7:30pm, and I've been 3 separate times. They tell me they're waiting on just 1 of 3 prescriptions and that it will take a few minutes, so I sit and wait. After 10-15 minutes, they inform me that "the dosage on the paper isn't clear enough to read" so they tell me they'll "try" to call the psychiatrist tomorrow. I politely tell them that I have been there 3 times already today, and ask why they couldn't have told me that way earlier. No response. When I ask what time or if the medication will even be ready tomorrow, no response. Needless to say I'm switching to a different pharmacy. read more

The staff here is nice and clearly they work hard, unfortunately the pharmacy staff is so overworked the service is terrible. I sat in the drive through line for nearly an hour today before even getting to the window. And there were only 4 cars ahead of me. And you know if the staff is overworked like this, they're definitely underpaid too. I wish I could support them because it's clearly managements fault, but for my time and my morals I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same. read more

San Marcos' first 24-hour drugstore has what you need in the middle of the night for that which ails you. And for those things you forgot that just aren't worth the trip across the Interstate to Wally World. The store can be busy at times, and due to the proximity to campus, there's little going incognito at this location. It's also located proximate to a couple of tricky intersections with long lights and lots of traffic, so entering and exiting can be problematic at peak times. At the same time, when you need it before 8 AM or after 10 PM, this is one of the few games in town. read more

I stopped by yesterday and was told that it still wasn't ready but I could wait 25 minutes for it. when I called it in, the recording said that I would be contacted if my prescriptions were not ready for pick up when promised. That did not happen. I said I would come back the next day. I went today and still no prescription filled. I asked why and was told that they just "hadn't gotten to it." You shouldn't have to wait a week for a prescription. Especially with no call or other information from the pharmacy to tell you that your prescription is delayed. Do not go here. Went in to get my blood pressure taken for an appointment I was about to have. They needed my BP taken in advance. It was quick and easy, however I asked for the pharmacist to put it in writing for me to show to my doctor and he couldn't do that for me? So that was pretty much useless. Anyways, I was pretty frustrated. But I also needed to buy a couple things. Got up to the register and Paula changed the whole experience. She was so friendly and personable, totally brightened the mood and truly made going to Walgreens worth it. Give it up for Paula. SHE gets five stars. read more

This is in reference to the pharmacy. I had a prescription to fill, I told the pharmacy tech that I didn't have insurance. The initial price she gave me was kind of high, so she worked her magic and got it for me under $15! I was so appreciative that she took the time to help me with that and was friendly and personable the whole time. I wish I knew her name so I could give her proper credit. This walgreens is the has most unprofessional pharmacy that I have ever encountered. I went to go pick up my birth control prescription (which normally includes three months worth of product) yet there was only one month worth of product when I later opened the box at my house. I called and asked why I was given only one month worth of product and I was simply told that they gave me a partial refill and that I needed to come back on a later day to receive the rest. I thought all of this was weird because on my box it said that I was given three months worth of product but I most definitely did not. When I called a week Later I was told by a very rude lady that they gave me the full prescription. I told her that they definitely did not and she got into a full on screaming match with me. She told me that she checked the camera footage and the pharmacist looked at the box (DIDNT OPEN THE BOX) and confirmed that my full prescription was in it. I asked how they could possibly know that my full prescription was in the box if they didn't open it and she just kept repeating "we gave you the full prescription" so now I probably will have to pay out of pocket because of their negligence to confirm they are actually giving out what they say they are. Thinking about contacting my insurance about fraud because they are charging for product that they are not giving out!!!!! read more

So I have had bad experiences with the pharmacist here before, as described in my last review, but out of habit, I recently had my daughter's prescription sent here. When I picked up my prescription, the pharmacy was chaos, and I had my two very excited kids with me. The staff were friendly and I had my first OK experience with the pharmacist. I was pretty surprised. I thought MAYBE just MAYBE I should give them another chance based on the visit. When I got home, I put the medication (still in its bag) to the side for later since it needed to be taken with food. After my daughter had dinner, I opened the bag, as soon as I pulled the bottle out of the stapled-shut paper bag, I felt a sticky liquid on my hand. The bottle had spilled in the bag due to the lid not being put on properly. I was super annoyed because the medication with insurance was $40, my 16-month-old was grumpy and ready for bed, my 4-year-old (who the medication belonged to) was curled up and ready for movie time, and I really didn't want to have to load them up and drive back to the pharmacy. I called and explained to the staff member what had happened. She kept saying "the cap is childproof" and told me that they wouldn't provide the lost medication back to me. I had no idea what the cap being childproof had anything to do with the issue at hand. She told me she would speak with her manager. After a pause, the staff member came back and told me that they double check the lids, so a spill being on them was not possible, and that there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with her manager. Enter the pharmacist. I explained that I didn't understand what the issue was as the lid not being put on correctly was on them - I had just taken the medication out of the bag and the bag had liquid on the inside from the bottle, the medication wasn't a narcotic, and it was for a child that needs it. He informed me that there was nothing they could do and that they weren't at fault - I was. He informed me that his staff member told him I told her I spilled the medication. This didn't make sense, since she had argued that the medication spilling couldn't be on them, since they double check their lids, so how could she also claim I had taken responsibility if she was denying what happened. I told him his staff needed lessons in listening skills. The pharmacist told me the lids were childproof. Again, this doesn't have anything to do with my argument...it was like they didn't know a childproof lid could be put on incorrectly. I felt like I was in the movie, Idiocracy, dealing with the president's staff ("but electrolytes are what the plants crave"). The pharmacist told me he personally put the lid on my daughter's medication today and knew for a fact that it was put on right. The thing is, it was filled early yesterday - so if he was working in the morning yesterday, he remembers one medication he put the lid on after filling god-knows how many medications between then and now and specifically remembered that this medication he remembers putting the lid on correctly for belonged to my daughter? I asked him again how the liquid medication spills IN the bag if I spilled it, since his argument was that he did everything right and I probably just spilled it when trying to give it to my daughter. He ignored my question. I told him I'd take a picture of the bag and the bottle with the obviously wonky lid and send it to his GM. The pharmacist was totally rude throughout the phone call, to the point that I didn't mind insulting as his crap continued. He repeatedly ignored my question: "how can the bag the medication was stapled in have medication all on the inside and all over the bottle?". He said he'd contact my insurance to get an override and tell them I spilled the medication. I told him that was unacceptable and that if a moron had put the lid on correctly, I wouldn't have to be arguing with him at length and wouldn't have to wait and hope for approval from the insurance company for something that wasn't my fault. I offered since the beginning of the conversation to bring the bottle and bag in so he could see it, but he ignored me and continued to deny they put the lid on wrong. I told him my kids were loaded up and ready to head back so I could finish the argument face to face with the bag and bottle, covered in medication, in hand. He told me he'd go ahead and refill the bottle himself. I went through the drive-thru and was able to get the medication re-filled. Let's say this prick bought himself the douche he so badly needs to get the sand out of his butt and the seal on the packaging was broken - wouldn't he take the product back to the store and demand an exchange? Good riddance, I made the mistake of having medication sent to this Walgreens out of habit and they once again proved that they are incompetent and that the pharmacist needs training customer service and how not being a self-righteous prick. read more

Generally I had no issues with using this pharmacy, but my recent visit was particularly bad, enough to make me consider moving all my business to a different pharmacy. I have been a long time customer with a chronic illness and was trying to pickup a Rx that was ready to go. It was 10-15 minutes until close when I entered the queue which I thought would be fine for just a pickup. There was only one person in front of me but they were having some difficulty with insurance or something, whatever the problem I just waited patiently assuming I'd be fine since they saw me waiting before closing time. To my surprise, they shut the window on me without even letting me say why I was there. I'm giving 2 stars because the staff in the convenience store was polite and listened to my concern though they could not help with the pharmacy's behavior. Luckily I didn't need the medicine urgently but even so a trip to the pharmacy is inconvenient for several reasons that I won't get into here. Now I have to make a second trip, just overall feel poorly treated as a customer. read more

the Walgreens appears to be a clean safe store. yesterday, the person at the pharmacy in front of me had tattoos, smelled unbathed and was acting very nervous. He asked for syringes and I was surprised the pharmacy sold him a packet full. no questions, ID request and asked what he wanted them for. He paid with a bunch of crumpled up ones, stuffed the needles in his pants and just ran out the store. I went to fill 3 prescriptions for my daughter. Because one of them was for oxycodone I was told it would take a little longer because of the extra work (I guess because of all the drug abuse with prescriptions these days some require extra security). My daughter had just had surgery and was due for another round of pain medicine in 20 minutes. I cannot tell you how grateful I was that they put a rush on it and had it out in less than 10 minutes. read more

My doctor called in a prescription for me on 12/29/14. I went to this Walgreens to pick up my prescription two days later. The medicine I was prescribed was not what I received. Luckily, I did not take the meds because they were to be taken on a specific date. I was called by Walgreens 8 days after I picked up the prescription and was told that my doctor's office had called in the wrong drug. I called my doctor to verify this, but they did not accept the responsibility of the mistake. Regardless of whose mistake it was, the pharmacist should have caught it. Instead of the correct meds, I was given five days worth of antidepressants. Who takes 5 days worth of antidepressants?!? Today I went back to exchange the clomipramine for the correct drug and had to ASK for an apology!!! I understand that people make mistakes, but having to ask her to tell me she was sorry was ridiculous! Own up to the fact that you screwed up, Lady! I will never set foot in this store again.
