Why would you expect so much? All the bad reviews are unfounded and based on unusual experiences. Yes the lines are long but the cashiers are efficient. It's open 24hrs a day so I always go when no one is there and I have a very peceful experience. The pharmacists are caring and much better than stop&shop across the street. The store is undergoing renovations too, so hopefully it will be even better. read more

I never had any problem with this store. The staff is very helpful. It opens 24/7 and I can always find the things I'm looking for. Given that this is the only 24/7 store in Malden, what else more should you expect? 5 stars. read more

They came up one month short on my heart medication twice in a row. All they had to say was must be someone here on the premises. Im here all day with a big Rotty single. One moth short on a 90 day and one month short again on a ninety day supply. That's it . Today is CVS sending everything there. read more

I frequent this Walgreens due to it being close by to my house and more times than not its late night after work. My fiancé and I stopped in last night and left with smiles on our faces due to Candie, whom I've labeled the nicest, most pleasant woman alive. So refreshing to see her behind counter, she is always so happy and cheerful and anyone that checks out with her leaves there with a smile. I know not too many people write reviews about Walgreens but she deserves to be recognized. Thanks for always putting a smile on our faces. read more

First of all, Walgreens offer a membership card to you, and every time they ask you: "do you have a Walgreens card"? But the card that you show doesn't have any effect on anything. The same price, no discount, no offers, no sale, no coupons, nothing. Also I feel frustrated because there is not a good verity of goods here, not as much as CVS. Could do much better. There are parking and the location is very good. The other thing is long waiting time that occasionally happens. In general, I'm still happy that we have them around :) read more

I'm not in the GAME of writing bad reviews, but this Walgreens I MUST comment on.... This Walgreens is the worst of the worst, it IS much bigger than before, but they seem to have filled up 80% of the new space with GARBAGE (literally). The registers are also the slowest I have encountered. before the unwarranted expansion, the store was half the size, with a pretty big Blockbuster Video next door. Blockbuster unfortunately went out of buZiness, and the powers that be had the brainstorm of doubling its size. GRANTED that part of Malden Center already serves PLENTY of lowlifes, but this Walgreens "respectable" clientele seems to have disappeared and this location is Chock Full Of EBT recipients. This store was MUCH BETTER berfore the expansion. They had two Indian (Pakistani) women working there who really knew their stuff, and were also pleasant and efficient. I have not seen them lately, They also screwed up the parking pattern. You used to be able to enter through Main Street (the MAIN drag), but you are now forced to enter through Centre Street (if you are travelling Southbound). If you're going in the opposite direction, this makes Walgreens a "no-no", and we proceed up the street to CVS, which has PLENTY of on-street parking. I like Walgreens better than CVS, but NOT THIS ONE! read more

By far the most horrible Walgreen pharmacy I've had to deal with. They never have the prescription on time. I've received a call stating my prescription is ready to be picked up; once i get there to pick it up, they said it was still processing. A week later, it wasn't ready still. They've messed up my prescription before. You have to constantly call every day to get an update and no one seems to know what's going on. read more

I've long frequented this Walgreens. I've payed 50% premiums on things because they were in a drug store and not a super market. I've been pleasant and had my head bitten off by their clerks. I've been mansplained by people stocking shelves. I've purchased milk and gotten home to find it's a week past its sell by date. The straw that broke the camel's back? Tonight, I went in to pick up a prescription I called in yesterday. Now, I was wondering why their "automatic monthly refill" hadn't automatically refilled my last two prescriptions, but okay, fine, things happen. Then, I get there tonight, spend ten minutes waiting in line (because they didn't have my prescription at the "express window"), and find out that they didn't refill the prescription I phoned in yesterday. I asked why I didn't get a call or any notification, and the woman at the counter just said, "It's a glitch with the system. It happens. It sucks. We can't do anything about it." Um, what? You know there's a problem with the system, you don't fix it or even warn customers about it, and when it happens, you act nonchalant about it? So, I asked them what they were going to do about it. I'm here, I've made a trip out of my way to get this prescription that was called in and was supposed to be ready, and their response: "There's nothing we can do about it. It's not our fault, it's the system. We know it sucks, but that's it." Um, again, no "I'm sorry" or "We'll try to rush this order, since it should have been ready when you got here." (I mean, how freaking long does it take to put 60 pills in a plastic container?) In fact, the cashier was downright rude. I explained that I didn't have time to wait or really to come back, and she acted like it was unreasonable for me to expect a prescription be ready when Walgreens said it would be. (I was there after a 14-hour day, the detour home from the T added 30 minutes to it, no, the prospect of waiting for them to be ready when I couldn't trust them to be ready when they said they would be was not particularly appealing.) That said, I didn't raise my voice, I did not say anything rude, but I had to pry to get any answers from her. As in, I told her I couldn't wait and she was just like, "Okay then." So, I asked her, "When will my prescription be ready?" And she's all, "I already told you." Um, no, you didn't -- you told me when it would be ready if I selected the "wait around for it" option. If there isn't a difference in the amount of time it takes when you choose wait for it vs. come back later, then why do you ask people to choose one? So, yeah. Done. Over it. The pharmacy has long been slow and filled with clerks who are discourteous at best, and I can take my prescription and my business elsewhere. So, I will. read more

The most important role of any pharmacy is that it takes its responsibility as a dispenser of prescription medications seriously. Any time it cannot fill a prescription as written it must inform the prescribing physician. A pharmacist cannot make a substitution without alerting the customer that there needed to be a change. My son had been taking the same dose tablet of a medication daily for over 10 years. A pharmacist at this Walgreens substituted tablets that were twice the strength but looked nearly identical. Neither his doctor nor I were told and I didn't notice. I overdosed my son as a result. He suffered no long term consequences, but he could have, as he had a toxic blood level of the medication when checked in the ER. I got a heartfelt apology from the manager, but needless to say our family's prescriptions are now filled elsewhere. read more

Pharmacy workers are very unprofessional, not friendly. They had me waiting over an hour for prescription eyedrops. Two of the girls saw me waiting and still didn't move my order along. Could see if I had a crazy order... Eyedrops??? Really need better trained staff. read more

This walgreens is awesome. It is so big now, it feels more high-end. They almost always have what I am looking for in stock. The leadership team is always so so so nice to me. Some know me well, others are just sweet to the bone. I see a lot of new faces, but some team members from a few years ago are the nicest people you can meet (even during their overnights!)
