What's happened to our WAG pharmacy!? It used to be so good and quick. As of late, you're lucky if you can get your script same day, let alone after 1 day. I ALWAYS have to call and then go down and wait. Because it never fails that when I call and they say yes it'll be ready in 30 minutes when I show up it's not ready! So frustrating. Do better WAG, I know you can because you used to. Actually thinking about transferring to Publix across the street. read more

Wow! What an excellent pharmacy and store! I'd never had te opportunity to visit this location but tonight they saved the day! We are long time Walgreen's customers. I know which stores have pharmacies open until 10 and that the nearest 24-Hour pharmacy at this time is in Sun City Center. Somehow, though, I'd been unaware of this nearby Walgreen's whose pharmacy is open until 9 PM. The folks here were very easy to work with and made sure my mom got the meds she urgently needed. I regret I didn't get the names of the folks who helped me, but I plan to go by there and get them so I can update this review and praise them. Regardless, I walked away with a sense that it's a well-run operation and you'd get great service from others here as well. read more

Pharmacy review: (Address: 3890 Van Dyke Rd, Lutz, FL 33548) Kayla has poor listening skills. Every single time makes you repeat your name 2-3 times & date of birth 2-3 times. After that asks for spelling of your name. Kayla pretends to be calm in other words, she is not genuine, and takes her time at the window very slow. This has happened each time so that is why we've finally just decided to review her. Kayla needs training in listening. read more

2x in 2 days 1st they told me my prescription would be ready in an hour. I get here an hour later and the pharmacist is out to lunch and I have to wait 20 minutes to get my prescription. Second time I call the next day, my prescription will be ready in 30 minutes. They tell me this time I get there an hour and a half later and it's still not ready, these people you talk to on the phone they don't care what they promising you they do what they want. Walgreens is my current pharmacy. If not, I am not sure I'd go there at all. The problem is they sell many of the same things as the blue logo with yellow star and red bullseye logo box stores, but not necessarily cheaper prices. They do have a rewards program, but I was a bit miffed when they went to their new system and I lost $30 worth of points. I seldom make enough purchased to make the points worthwhile. Walgreens also hosts Redbox rentals, which will draw me in for movie drinks and snacks so kudos on whomever made that partnership. You can also make and order online picture items such as calendars, cards, and other assorted gifts, which is cool. Outside of that, the staff is helpful, though when busy can get backed up. Walgreens is definitely more niche for me and there are many along routes I travel so they'll still get some of my business. read more

Pharmacist and staff were more interested is chatting than helping customers. Was on the drive thru line...4 cars behind me. No one that I could see waiting for service at the counter inside. Four employees and the pharmacist standing around laughing and talking while I, and everyone behind me, waited for 17 minutes!! People behind me started honking! Ridiculous. read more

They say management makes all the difference, such is the case with the Walgreens at Van Dyke and Dale Mabry. Here you have a nice store with friendly staff, convenient supplies and stationery, but their pharmacy makes all the difference. The pharmacists here really care. They will work with you to make sure that the doctor didn't goof up with bad handwriting or that everything is ok with medications. The pharmacists treat you like you are an individual, not just a number on an insurance form. Not only are they friendly and polite, but these people are extremely kind to the elderly and children. I have witnessed this on several occasions. They go the extra mile to make sure you are well and taken care of...This is truly appreciated and keeps this customer coming back. read more

The drive through line is always 5 cars deep no matter time of day. The second lane is never utilized. Multiple people in the pharmacy working yet it takes 45 mins in line to get a car through. Need some efficiencies put in place to better serve the amount of volume that frequents the store. read more

I've had good experiences here. Kim, the Pharmacist, is nice and professional. I love Kathy in the makeup section. Truly, all of the staff here have been helpful. There are definitely times that have taken longer due to lines, but that is expected. read more

horrible customer service!! called to see if my script was done 3 times for a total of 1 hour 20 min on hold, was told my ins won't cover so I go in to present my good RX card & was told it would be 20 min or so to adjust my bill, I leave, go eat & come back over an hour later & now they say since my doc was a tele doc based out of another city that they will need to have a call back from the doc to confirm meds. I spend another hour playing phone tag with the doc & then when I return for my script they are suddenly out & won't have any till March 2023 So I got jerked around for an entire day, made 3 trips to walgreens all for a med they HAD to know as they were lying to me & sending me on wild goose chases that they were out of. I will NEVER enter that or any other walgreens again!! Walmart pharmacy has amazing customer service, no lies no BS you just walk in & pick up your script! When I went in today it wasn't super busy So that's not my issue. I asked for a specific type of insulin needle and when I told the cashier at the pharmacy they don't look like the ones I use she said those are it. After I got home and looked at them outside the package they were the wrong ones.. I called the pharmacy and talked to I'm assuming the cashier and was told once they leave the pharmacy they can't take him back. That's fine with my insurance I can go to any pharmacy any pharmacy so they lost it's us a lot of business over 6 bucks which was theie fault in the 1st place. I'm choosing to go somewhere else which is my right. Also I'm not choosing to go on all the social media platforms and express my displeasure at their sad excuse for a pharmacy. Just remember if they can't get insulin needles right how can anyone expect them to get medicines right. Continue to use this pharmacy at your own peril. read more

The store itself is fine, but the pharmacy sucks! Tonight wasn't my first bad experience with the pharmacy, but after so many you finally get fed up enough to write a bad review... Tonight they said they didn't have the refill request I placed yesterday for my diabetes test strips. She said she'd put the request in again, but I'd have to come back tomorrow to pick them up. (Keep in mind you can buy these over the counter, straight from the box... It's just cheaper to go through a prescription). So apparently they were too lazy to go get a freaking box off the shelf and give them to me. I'm paying $120 for these test strips, but I guess that isn't worth their while. I get home and decide to change the prescription to another Walgreens closer to my house, when I see the refill request she put in was for lancets, not even the test strips... Total incompetence. It just shouldn't be that hard. read more

Horrible service at the pharmacy!!! I was quoted 20 minutes to wait for my daughter's prescription. We waited in the store. After 35 minutes, after never being called, I waited in line to find out the status of my prescription. I waited at least another 5-7 minutes in line to check on my prescription. Then, the pharmacist told me that they didn't have the medicine in stock. I was angry. Why didn't they tell me that 25 minutes ago? I could have waited even longer if I hadn't checked on it. I was outraged. On my way out the store, I told the manager on duty. (May 1, 2013) He looked at me like a deer in headlights and said, "I'm sorry." That was it. He didn't really care. He went back to talking to an employee. This was not my first bad experience with this Walgreens. I had a similar experience but attributed it to them having a bad day. No more. I will never go back to Walgreens again, especially the one on Van Dyke Road. I will take my prescriptions to Publix, and never step foot in that place again. read more

I have been a customer of the pharmacy for 7 yrs and I am finally transferring all of my prescriptions! The quality of service has gone way down and they never have my medicine with complete refills. I have to make 2 trips to get all my medicine. I received a prescription that was the WRONG medicine!! what if I would have taken that medicine? I have also got a prescription for my dog...the Wrong dogs name was written on it! when will it end at this pharmacy? I feel it is best for my health that I just go somewhere else for my pharmacy needs. The store is nice but pharmacy needs new management. read more

I'm frustrated with the Walgreens prescription plan. I purchased the Walgreens plan, on their suggestion, to provide discounted rates on certain prescriptions if my insurance plan costs were higher. Unfortunately they never actually check if their plan provides lower costs. So, if I don't catch it, I'll pay 50.00 for a scrip that is 15.00 on their plan. This happens almost every time someone in my family picks up the prescription!! Even now, I sit here while they look up my husbands Walgreens plan that I did renew, but they show it expired several months ago. The pharmacists seemed excited when he said " your Walgreens plan expired in February"... I said, WRONG. Check again. Now I wait while my refund is processing. Get it together Walgreens, don't offer a program you don't actually use effectively. read more

Not ready to help patients. No formal training to techs. I would just stay away from these shady people. And it's not like your prescriber has ordered control meds. Even for regular skin infection prescription the pharmacist has no idea about the drug and would not help in calling dr. Office and helping. read more

This particular Walgreens(Van Dyke)has the worst customer service in Tampa. There willingness to go over and beyond is nonexistent. Fortunately there are other places to go, but the manager needs to be replaced and find a new career. Some people shouldn't deal with the public and she is a prime example. Walgreens fire this employee. At least demote her to tech she's not worthy of a leadership capacity. I'm sure this isn't the first complaint. read more
