I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable, unprofessional, and disrespectful treatment I received at your pharmacy's drive-thru today. The initial employee at the window was extremely rude, dismissive, and unhelpful from the start. I came through to pick up a medication my insurance has covered previously. Instead of assisting me, the employee spoke to me with attitude and insisted my insurance "didn't take it," then repeatedly told me to call my insurance--even though only one car was behind me. I contacted my doctor immediately, who sent over a different prescription that should have been covered. Before I could even finish explaining, the employee told me to "move forward," again with attitude, even though I was simply trying to confirm whether the new medication was covered. She raised her voice through the intercom, claiming people were calling the pharmacy about the line, despite there being only two cars total. When I came inside, I was told the medication "did not exist," which was both incorrect and completely unprofessional. At this point, the manager, Rozina, came up--yet instead of de-escalating the situation or correcting her employee, she raised her voice as well. Her behavior was even more unprofessional than the employee's, which is unacceptable for someone in a leadership position. This entire interaction showed a complete lack of customer service, training, and proper management. No customer should be spoken to or treated in this manner by staff or a manager. I expect this issue to be addressed immediately, and I would appreciate confirmation that appropriate action will be taken. read more

Just experienced a very rude and condescending employee (Jasmine, Shift Lead) who was not being helpful at all. I came in with photo needing to be printed and she was very reluctant to help and made some rude comments to me. I'm not sure what I did to offend her (other than walking into the store), but it was very unwarranted and uncalled for. read more

Insanely slow drive up window. Waits of 40 minutes are not uncommon. Unfortunately, due to lane barriers, customers cannot pull out of the line once they queue up. The slow moving, over-tasked workers in the pharmacy act totally unfazed by this and act as if this was normal. There's no good excuse for these delays. Walgreens needs to either pay these people more and/or improve working conditions to decrease the obviously frequent turnover or get higher quality staff. read more

Horrible pharmacy. I was extremely ill and needed a refill on a medication. It was literally one pill left and they said it'll take an hour. I arrive within that time and guess what it's not ready. Waited 20 minutes in the drive thru to pick up a prescription. Couldn't get out of line - as you are trapped by store on one side and a curb on the other. I finally went in as my sister was driving. There were 2 people taking care of 2 people! No one thought to check the drive-thru. There were FIVE cars waiting! All trapped because once in line - you can't get out. I am a physician and trying to get my kids vaccinated here was a terrible experience. I had appointments and they weren't prepared at all. The tech had to keep asking the pharmacist the dose for a 4 year old. My 4 year old barely flinched, I was holding him tight, and the tech withdrew the needle and had to inject him again. He kept wiping the bleeding area with an alcohol wipe hurting my little guy. When my 7 year old was having a hard time, the pharmacist came in and told her if she couldn't calm down and do it soon her tech needed to get back to work. 1. She told my 7 year old if she kept being upset she would get out of it. 2. I made appointments. I understand understaffing but it's poor patient care to cut my appointment time short because you are understaffed. read more

The pharmacy here was pretty great when it came to an Rx for my toddler. I moved to the area several months ago, so this Walgreens is new to me and I only used it for the first time the other day. I called asking how long it would take and whether or not it (liquid med) could be mixed with juice, since my pediatrician wasn't sure if mixing could impact the effectiveness. The pharmacist was kind and answered all of my questions. Additionally, the Rx was filled within 25 minutes - faster than it took me to get from the doctor's office to Walgreens! I didn't realize the meds came bubble gum flavored. Not thinking he would take it, they were able to quickly flavor it with orange for me. They were patient and, again, kind. This Walgreens location is clean, neat, & well-stocked which I do not find to be true of all Walgreens. The floor is usually well-staffed and all the employees I have encountered have been polite and helpful. The prices for health & beauty are competitive with big box stores and there are often sales. The pharmacy is often very, very busy & sometimes understaffed. Yet even when this is so, I find the pharmacy staff to be patient & helpful. Prescriptions are filled swiftly no matter what. If you have a sweet tooth, this location does exceptionally well at stocking the latest, freshest, seasonal, limited-run, popular candies, but get there early in the season! Web-ordering with curb pick-up is convenient. However, this location needs to rethink the drive-thru. When the pharmacy is backed up inside with face-to-face customers, the customers in the drive-thru cannot be served. In addition, it is not clear to drive-thru customers that they must push a call button to get service. We have called the store from inside our car more than once because of being behind a customer who has failed to see & use the call button. We now avoid the drive-thru. I urge this store to examine its procedures for handling drive-thru customers and to consider clear, multilingual signage and indicators for the drive-thru call button. read more

Gemma Disclaimer: This review has nothing to do with the hard working folks at the Pharmacy section. Well, it has come to this. I have been patient long enough. This review comes after five abysmal visits to this 24 hour Walgreens where, in the past, I have found pretty good service. Yes, even despite a parking lot that takes no prisoners. This location recently underwent a big renovation, although the word 'renovation' is not the word I'm looking for. Whatever they just did to this place it is now chaotic and inefficient. But their biggest problem is their new check out system. I still can't fathom what they are thinking. Yes, you will see a service associate. But watch and wait as one, two, four, six, or more people form a line that goes no where. While you wait, be entertained by a myriad of employees talking to each other, working oblivious at a nearby register on "something" yet ignoring the obvious, walking in striking distance with a box of Snickers replenishing stock as the crowd gathers. And finally, when you cannot take any more, when your arms are ready to drop, help is finally called. I can't be the only person who senses a problem. I also can't be the only person who hopes that neighboring Walgreens don't do the same and ultimately undergo a zombie like transformation. I think I would rather take my chances in their parking lot. read more

If I could give this Walgreens zero stars I would have. The store itself is not that bad, the problem is the people in the pharmacy are probably the rudest people I have ever met. This seems to come from the top as the people that are running the pharmacy seem to be very very rude that treats her employees with zero respect, which then cascades to the customers. I have run many large businesses and have always tried to focus on service as the key ingredient to success. One thing that is clear is if you have a bad employee it can taint the entire team and this person needs to be removed to fix the problem. If I was Walgreens execs I would take a close look at this pharmacy and talk to the employees to understand why they are treating the customers so poorly. This can be fixed, and I hope Walgreens takes the time to realize that the poor attitude and poor service is causing their business problems and will continue to cause them problems in to the future. read more

I came to this location specifically for the photo processing. My son had a disposable camera that needed to be developed. I had tried to go to the Oakbrook Terrace location earlier in the day, but they do not develop film anymore. We waited in line behind another customer. When it was our turn I told the associate that I wanted to process the camera. She asked for the phone number, she did not verify the name on the account. Then the phone rang and she answered the phone in the middle of our transaction. It was obvious that it was someone she knew. Then the associate said, "Hold on a minute." I thought she was speaking to the person on the phone. I was mistaken. She left the counter and went in the back. When she came out she picked up the phone and told the person what time they needed to come in to work. I was so shocked by her behavior that I could not say anything. I also want my son's pictures, so I chose not to ask for a manager, tonight. I will pick up the pictures tomorrow and I will speak to a manager. It was obvious that the bar is set low for customer service. read more

Literally, my mom and I do too. lol This one is clean and the workers aren't as creepy as other Walgreens employees. I find what I need and I bounce. * Review is for the Pharmacy only. This is not my regular Walgreen's so I can't comment about other aspects of this particular store. Went in last week to "drop off" a prescription for my grandpa. Was told it would be about 15-20 minutes. I thought that sounded fair, so I proceeded to walk around the store and just look around to kill some time. Surprisingly, no more than about 5 minutes later, the prescription was ready. I literally asked them if they were certain MY prescription was ready this quick - and it was.. For this alone, I must give them 5 stars. Maybe it was coincidence, or perhaps simply I walked in at a slow time. Based on reviews below and my overall knowledge of Walgreens in general, I understand this probably isn't the "norm". Either way though, I was in and out in under about 8 minutes for a prescription, and that is commendable. read more

This pharmacy is terrible. On multiple occasions I tried to speak to a pharmacist through the automated service only for the phone to ring and then go back to wait music multiple times. Myself being a person who is familiar with the customer service industry finds this unacceptable. The pharmacy staff is very short and unapologetic every time I go in or call, aside from a younger employee who is friendly. As I frequently spend a great deal of money on prescription medication it would be nice to be treated politely. read more

Absolutely incompetent pharmacy. They gave my wife the wrong prescription. When I called, they said the doctor would have to re-submit. They said they would contact the doctor, but they sent their fax to the wrong office for my wife's doctor. I followed up with the doctor, and the doctor confirmed that her original prescription was correct, that the pharmacy messed it up and that she (the doctor) re-submitted the prescription. 1 1/2 days later, the annoying automated system said that there was no prescription waiting for my wife. I tried to talk to a human being, but the annoying automated system kept transferring me around in circles. I guess this is too complicated for this pharmacy and my wife will just have to live with the pain. read more

I come here all the time to fill prescriptions for my dad. I like to watch the sale flyers and take advantage of some of the great sales they have on the necessities like TP and shampoo and such. Sometimes I even have a manufacturers coupon which makes the savings even greater. I've never had a problem finding a sale item in the store. They are always well-stocked, unlike the CVS just down the street on Roosevelt. The only reason I kept the rating at 3 stars was because the pharmacy is ridiculously slow. This seems to be a very busy location, so they really need to hire some more people. read more

My go-to pharmacy since it's so close to work. They have the typical layout so you know where you're going and good inventory so you're sure to find what you're looking for. The cashier sometimes gets a little busy, but parking is ok and so is access. Has a drive-thu as well. read more

I like this walgreens I go there all the time. There are a few cashiers I talk to on a regular basis. There are a few people in the pharmacy dept that have an attitude problem but..other than that-- I love it. If they offered a loyalty card -- I would have like a million points. read more

I've been to my fair share of Walgreens drive throughs many times, but this location has the longest drive through wait I've ever experienced. Even if there is only one car in front of you, just assume you're waiting 15min plus in line. Same goes for inside the store. I actively avoid picking up a prescriptions because I have to account for 20 - 30min after work waiting for it. They need more techs or a better system. My husband waited in line today for over 30min with only 3 cars in front of him. Hire more people! read more

Friendly staff at his location. When getting medication the pharmacy is on top of questions and recommendations from the pharmacist and if need health advice they are willing to assist further. They usually have good deals and their rewards program seems beneficial if you spend enough money on things you're going to buy anyway. read more

The pharmacist there and the technicians have always been super nice and friendly when I've gone. Maybe if the Yelpers here complaining about the pharmacy should give it another shot, they'd change their minds and reviews. Maybe Walgreens heard you all and got better pharmacy staff? Again, I have never had a problem with this Walgreens. The pharmacist went the extra mile for me, once, trying to get information from my doctor, who faxed the script without including the dosage. I felt so bad for her having to keep trying to phone in, being put on hold, told he's unavailable, then having to call the after hours service, etc. It was truly a nightmare, but she was so nice about the whole thing with me. This is the worst place to get a prescription filled. The internet connection is down all the time. I went to pick up my meds and wait in line for ten minutes just to be told that they can't confirm my insurance because there internet connection was down and it goes down anywhere from 10 minute to two hrs and to come back later or maybe tomorrow. Plus the people behind the counter were rude and acted like we were inconvenience them. Who can you run a pharmacy and not spend the money to get a good internet connection. The Walgreens brand is going downhill the people act there act like we should fill privilege to have them wait on us. I have left and had my prescription transferred to a different pharmacy and will never go back their again. read more
