The pharmacy is embarrassingly slow. It usually takes over 30 minutes inside and drive thru, no matter how many workers are there.

Your best bet will be a place like this one where you're going to pay 2-3X more for an item than you might at the supermarket. Chalk it up as "convenience." :-)

I was surprised by the amount of items in this seemingly small store. The aisles were packed with stuff. This is not a very large store but there is a terrific selection. I was able to get my drink and was happy they used Styrofoam which I LOVE. I know it's bad for the environment but it keeps the drinks cooler so much longer. Bad on me. Yes, this is a convenience store but it's not your typical convenience store. They had the regular fare of chips and candies. There was just more to this quaint little store. It has a different energy. You got the feeling they weren't rushing you out of the store like so many other places. They had all sorts of tobacco choices, as well. A clerk even offered to help me which never happens in other stores. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were helpful and nice. A smile goes a long way in customer service. This store is easily accessible and it was easy-in, easy-out. Prices seemed reasonable, as well. Downtown Lawrence is a few blocks away so this is a great location. Highly impressed and pleased. Will go back again.

Until Quik Trip decides to rebuild on 23rd or open a new Quik Trip out in Western Lawrence, the Kwik Shop out on 6th & Wakarusa is probably the best option. They have a decent amount of fuel stations and the prices are some of the lowest n town. Especially if you have points built up on your Dillions grocery card. The fuel stations are well lit and clean. The window wash tubs are sometimes empty as are the paper towel dispensers. Their air station for tires is rather lackluster. Inside the Kwik Shop you will find plenty of snack, drinks, hot grill items (well, not always), pre-made hot food, toiletries, grocery items, and various other nick-nacks. Their soda fountain machines are pretty good. Not too syrupy and they offer crushed ice! Yea, some folks love crushed ice and I'm a fan as well. The griller items which consist of taquitos and hot dogs seem to be a popular choice at Kwik Shop. The doughnut case which is primarily Krispy Kreme is stocked with cookies, muffins, brownies, and donuts. Not a huge fan of Krispy Kreme but the other items in the case are really good. The coffee selection is actually decent for a service station. In my opinion it is better than Quik Trip and I'm sure many will debate this. The coffee is served the old fashioned way in glass carafe's and always fresh. If not, ask the attendant to make a fresh pot and I have never been refused. I really like the light roast and sometimes venture into the vanilla flavored drip coffee. Use your Dillions card and build up points to get a free coffee. Large selection of snack foods with Kroger dominating the selections. Grocery items a re a bit expensive but that is to be expected n a gas station. The cashiers are usually friendly and personable. Another bonus is the RedBox machine sitting out front. Not too many people use this machine for some reason. Always has a large selection of movies available. I really like this Kwik Shop location as there are some other good one's in Lawrence.

I had not been inside a Kwik Shop in many moons. I was prepared to expect the worst. Surprisingly, this shop was very clean and well-lit. The bathrooms were sparkly and not at all what I had imagined. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Since I was there already, I decided to get a drink and a snack for the road. I found everything to be very stocked and arranged neatly. The products were orderly and eye catching. There seemed to be a visual rhythm to the placement of the drinks and snacks. All the self-serve stations were clean and well attended to, as well. Products were easy to find and there was no dust on anything. Put that on my list of things to hate about most convenience stores. This store also had a supply of fresh foods in a cooler type area that I found to be appealing. This store was top notch in terms of cleanliness and product selection. This is always a busy store and that is a good sign! Constantly a stream of people in and out. This store is on a busy street corner so that helps. Interestingly, there is a great deal of construction going on right now and the roads in front of this store are blocked off. Still there was a great deal of customer traffic which was amazing. The reason for my lack of 5 stars is because of the clerk behind that counter. She could have cared less for my existence on earth. She did not smile, she did not acknowledge me, she was just taking up space. I was quite disappointed because that late at night, a smile would have been nice. Nope, not getting it out of her. Other than the crusty clerk, this is a very good store for those convenience store needs.

Most of the time it's clean, however I have caught it messy a few times. The shelves are always stocked, but I think that has more to do with the cost, than unavailability. They have crushed ice, which is the biggest reason I visit (I'm an ice eater) and it's closest to my home. Be warned though, there is not enough gas pumps, so you usually find yourself waiting for a spot, and the snacks/food is way overpriced. Quik trip has better snack prices. Besides that it's a cool place to get in and out of

Yep, that's reason to pull the car into the big parking area this area provides. The store carries most of the things you'd expect in a small Hispanic grocery of this size, but here's what got my attention: they have plans to open a street style taqueria with sit-down service in the next few months. Now THAT I can get behind. Chatted up a couple people working and they seem to know their stuff, planning to have tripas, pastor, lingua, barabacoa... the good stuff. The store also carries a mini assortment of home needs for the medicine cabinet as well, handy for some of the apartment buildings behind this complex, assuming they ever discover it. Asprin/Advil, toiletries, etc. With the plethora of pizza delivery joints in this complex, you'd think they'd discover it. Yea, maybe not. PIcked up some hot chilis, mayocobas and a Mexican soft drink. Big spender. Enjoyed the people working here, now keeping an eye out for that taqueria when it opens. If you come: it's in the far corner from both entrances. Credit cards accepted, including American Express.
