Ulta is like Home Depot for girls. It is a magical fairyland! So many pretty bottles and sparkling…read moremakeup! It is a wonderland of makeup. I was a bit overwhelmed when I first went there because of all the makeup. Rows and rows of makeup and girl-stuff. It was difficult to soak it all in and process the selection I think I stumbled blindly from aisle to aisle, looking at all the products. It's all in a name. I loved that they have such a wide selection. You can find brands from Dior to Revlon. There is no shortage of selection at Ulta. Truly, there is an amazing array of products from makeup to skincare. There are makeup brushes, curling irons, diffusers and so much more. The everyday items they have for purchase is a wonderful idea, too. The store in Lawrence is well lit and bright. It is great to try on products in the natural light. The store is also well laid out and it is easy to navigate. The main problem I have with the store is the lack of help. On my first visit, I was there for a particular product and could not find it to save my life. The store was busy that day and I kept that in mind. I tried in vain to find someone to help but it was nearly impossible. I finally located a CSR and she was mildly helpful. She did not volunteer any information but if I asked her to right question, she would give the answer. She did not seem very enthusiastic about helping me. She also tried to help other people at the same time and that was slightly frustrating. She did give me one product recommendation and I was very encouraged by her sudden interest in my situation. However, when I got to the register I discovered the item was WAY overpriced and I nearly had a panic attack. I purchased the product out of frustration to save my life. There was a long line behind me that was breathing down my neck, daring me to take too much time with my purchase. Overall, I am pleased with the store. They need to get more help and hire people with a great deal of enthusiasm for the customer and the products.

Blow OUT or BLOW STYLE? What's the difference to you? Because I am a curly haired gal, I…read morespecifically asked for a blow dry experienced stylist when making the appointment. I was disappointed on this visit. My initial experience: The staff take EXCELLENT Precaution for all consumers with temperature checks and asking all questions about any potential exposure - KUDOS to the management team. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about products which I have appreciated on visits. This time, I thought let me test out the salon and get a "Blow Out" - I knew as soon as I sat in the chair and the hair stylist dried my hair that I was not getting a blowout, which defined by my previous experience is like heaven. A blowout is when the stylist works your hair straight, so that it lasts a few days. So that you can feel glamorous walking out the door. Don't get me wrong, Liz was great, she was appreciative of my thick hair, treated my scalp tenderly, explained the products and explained how she might use a flat brush vs a round brush on my hair. I did NOT feel glamorous at the end. I asked about the heat setting not being applied to my hair, why she didn't work my curly roots, and when she was done, I told her "this wont last a day". my roots were curly giving me volume. Liz explained perfectly well about hair and scalp care and did her best with my hair. She was engaging and a great conversationalist. AND I appreciate her attempt to work with my hair. I have coil 3 curl and was not content with what a "blow out service" is at this salon. If you are looking for a "Dry Bar blowout / blow dry service" - this is not the place. They have an awesome selection of products with great prices! - in search for a local hair stylist that knows how to work their blow dryer for curly hair.

They keep me looking my best, and their skin care products have done WONDERS for my acne prone skin. Since I've been using their products, my skin has cleared up to the point that you would never have known that I have struggled with acne my entire life. I am so grateful to Aestheticare and their staff for the services that they provide to me. Aside from the amazing services that they provide, Aestheticare is currently holding a special event where they are donating 100% of the proceeds to Bert Nash here in Lawrence. That level of generosity is unprecedented and shows that they not only care about the betterment of our skin, but the betterment of our community. Aestheticare, thank you for everything that you do! There are many places in town to choose from when it comes to the care of your skin, but if you're looking for the best, to me the choice is clear. I will be coming here for years to come, and I couldn't be happier to say that.
