I only see Dr. Buxton once in a while, but it is always a great experience. He is thoughtful and concerned, but also funny and makes you feel at ease. As a routine, I see a dermatologist once a year for cosmetic reasons. Having had much experience with dermatologists for many years, I can say that my first appointment with Dr. Buxton was excellent. He is very considerate and highly competent. Since he is the only physician in his practice, arrangements with his staff are efficient and convenient. During the current pandemic, such efficient and trustworthy service is especially important. In contrast, before calling Dr. Buxton's office for an appointment, I called a different practice having a few physicians. I kept getting busy signals and could not even leave a message. I then called Dr. Buxton's office for an appointment, and all arrangements were easy and rapid. In the future, I will continue seeing Dr. Buxton annually. read more

I don't go to many specialists, so when I found the need for a dermatologist, I had nowhere to look expect my coworkers. One of them recommended Dr. Buxton, as she had gone to him for years and he was located just down the street from the office. Going to him was a wise choice. First, the guy knows his stuff. I had several questions and he never even hesitated or had to think about the answers. I know that sounds very basic when it comes to a doctor, but it's reassuring nonetheless. Also, he is incredibly respectful of peoples time...I got in early, and was back in my car before my scheduled appointment time had even begun! My coworker said the same thing - Dr. Buxton values other peoples time, which seems rare in the medical profession. Heck, I wish he were a general practitioner, because although I rarely go to the doctor...it's even rarer that I go to a specialist, and he's a good guy. read more

I tried to make an apt. With Dr.Baxton, my insurance was 'lut of network' his office personal assurred me I would be charged in Full. As a provider myself. I am aware the id a provider contracts with an insurance company; they contract at a reduced rate. Why wouldn't a small deduction also be provuded for a patient paying ' out of pocket??? I guess they don't have to and they can. I guess that extra money, is highly valued. Sad! Though others might like to know. If you pay 'out of pocket'you pay more then the insurance companies... I have an actual skin disease that is affecting my overall health. Dr Buxton did nothing to biopsy, look under microscope, or actually diagnose. He was rude, said picking at my skin is the problem, and prescribed a cream that my pharmacist said is 50 bucks because it is not covered by insurance because it is made out of things found in any kitchen and contains no actual medication. Meanwhile, I have had to be referred elsewhere and if he had taken the time to actually figure it out, I would have less scars, would have been able to keep my job and be back to myself instead of it progressing this far, which turns out is affiliated with Lymes disease.
