Alina S. did my hair and makeup for my wedding. We had a small, intimate ceremony with family, but I still really wanted to feel special and bridal while also looking like myself. I normally wear very little makeup, so I asked for something natural with gold and brown tones. Of course it felt a little more glamorous than my everyday makeup in person, but it photographed PERFECTLY. Alina was incredibly sweet and easy to talk to. My now mother-in-law came along with me, and we both really enjoyed talking with her throughout the appointment. Another stylist also stepped in to help with my hair, which I really appreciated. It was obvious that they were making an effort to keep everything moving and make sure I was happy and ready on time. My only feedback is really more for Ulta's bridal scheduling than for Alina. It seemed like regular salon appointments were booked pretty tightly around my bridal appointment, and we started a little later than expected. Everything ultimately finished on time, but there was definitely a moment where I worried about the wedding timeline. I'm a pretty low-maintenance bride, so I mostly just felt bad that the stylists seemed to be under that kind of time pressure! For something as time-sensitive and once-in-a-lifetime as wedding hair and makeup, I think giving bridal appointments a little extra breathing room would make the experience even better. Maybe providing a survey or pre-appointment questionnaire to make sure everyone is on the same page, prepared, and know if specific wants can be expected to be fully accommodated would help both parties. None of that takes away from how happy I was with Alina's work. I would absolutely trust her with my hair and makeup for a larger wedding or another special event. She will always be a little part of why I love our wedding photos so much. One caveat for all who are interested: if you are not used to threading of any kind, prepare yourself for pain. They told me that the henna I have used to strengthen and relax my curly hair had destroyed my hair and that my grey hair would never be a nice texture. That no product would help. I told her that I was desperate for an immediate solution, even an imperfect one while I waited to hear back from her. She said there were none. I decided to look for the L'Oreal product anyways. It was $14, so I bought it. Lost business over $14. The Loreal product is wonderful. My cuticle is closed, and my hair looks the best it has in years. I greatly appreciate the salesperson who showed me where to find what I came in to buy in the first place. I was happy to pay extra to be pampered with a protein treatment. I will find a different salon to do so. I've dealt with enough hair stylists who do what they want rather than listening to what their customer is asking for. The hard sell is not what I needed. This is not how you should get clients. It's a good store. Clean, and well staffed. Maybe just be careful of the folks who will tell you that your hair is a lost cause - it may only cost $14 to fix your problem, but they are selling a service not fixing your issue. Disappointed to find that hair at Ulta is no different than taking my car to the mechanic. Refusing to listen to the customer, trying to sell services that are unnecessary, and refusing to provide simple solutions if they can't make it expensive.

The staff was very nice and again, very quick, but the trim at the end was basically just for show and none of the baby hairs above my eyebrows or in between the brows were covered. I didn't notice some of the missing pieces until I got home and it was pointed out to me, but for the money, I wasn't as thrilled as I have been at other places. I would also love if they had some sort of rewards program because that would definitely incentivize me to go back, but for now, I'll stick with my usual! They couldn't show me anything, only a text message they had sent. I checked their website and Terms & Conditions afterward and couldn't find a cancellation fee mentioned anywhere. I told the manager I was objecting on principle. She told me I "can't afford it," said I'm not allowed back in the salon, and said that because I had pushed back she wouldn't refund the fee. The manager said I was lucky they only charged me 50% and if I wanted they could charge me 100%. When I asked to speak with the owner, staff refused to give me their contact information. Asking to reschedule shouldn't get you an insult and a ban. Before you book here and leave your card on file, be aware of how they treat customers whose plans change. I'll update this review if the owner makes it right.
