On my most recent visit, I was driving home from a family gathering in Manhattan, and we all treated ourselves to little milkshakes. Honestly they are really decent little treats for a gas station. I actually looked at him like he was crazy because it was a Sunday afternoon. He assured me they were still open. I have to confess that I did not entirely believe him. LOL. He said, "They can fix it in 10 minutes and it will cost you about $16." Yeah, right. So I headed Westside 66 and kept my fingers crossed. The cashier told me to pull around back and they would look at the tire. Honestly, within ten minutes... the tire was fixed and it cost $16. I could not believe my good luck on finding this place. The mechanic who worked on my tire was nice, professional and he knew exactly what to do to get me fixed. He did not waste time with small talk and he got me right on my way. The cashier was very nice and courteous. She, too, was professional and very helpful. I appreciate her guidance. I asked her if they had been busy and she said it was a slow day for them. It was hard to believe it was a slow work day because both bays were filled and other cars were lined up for service. I will definitely go back to this station for service. I had counted on being there for hours but it was quick, efficient, professional service. WOW. Still cannot believe my luck with this wonderful shop.

Kwik shops of Lawrence, you now make up over 10% of my 1 star ratings in seven years making 800+ reviews. For a guy that loathes to hammer a business, a remarkable achievement of sub-par mediocrity. How slow are the pumps here? If you've been around since before pumps became electronic and computerized--the old kind towns of 100 people in western Kansas had in 60s and 70s--yea, that slow. No, slower. As I'm waiting in line for 10 minutes for a slot to fill up, I'm privately grousing about the lady sitting in her car looking at her cell phone for 5 minutes. "WTF," I mutter under my breath. Pull away and check your messages. But wait, no, she's sitting in her car waiting for the pump to stop filling the car with gas. Unbelievable. The HyVee Fuel Savers program is not as good overall as the one at Dillons, though. HyVee gives you rewards on only certain items you buy. Dillons gives rewards on how much money you spend at the store. Don't get me wrong- there have been some great savings at HyVee. The difference in the programs is slight. The cashiers and staff are very friendly and the store is all sparkly clean. They also have convenience store pizza!! It's a favorite. Great pizza, price-is-right gas, and great customer service.

This is a busy store by an exit on a state highway. It is situated in a small town so they do a great volume here. This is the equivalent of a small town mall. They offer all the things a convenience store should offer. They have gasoline, refrigerator filled walls of drink assortments, candy, more gum than anyone could ever chew, beef jerky, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Standard convenience store fare. Everything seems to be in order and there appears to be a wide selection of products. I found myself inside the store when I went to get gas and the pump could not read my card. I decided this was a good chance to grab a sandwich for lunch tomorrow. They had a wide variety of lunch foods in the cold case but they were pricey. I was going to get some cheese and beef jerky but the small pack was almost $5. No thanks! The cashier was very nice and pleasant. The store was clean. I just could not get past the prices.

This Kwik Shop has things the 19th and Mass doesn't: - the gas pumps actually dispense gas quickly. No 5 minute waits while it drips into your gas tank. - there is actually water and soap in the window cleaning buckets so you can wash your window. - there are actually paper towels in the dispenser too, amazing. - the exterior and lot is fairly clean and appearance kept up. - the lot is of the size that you don't feel like you can move without hitting someone, even if crowded which it was on my visit. - the inside was clean and the help professional. Yea, here's where I'm getting gas in the future. I head to KC enough that it's time to just bypass the horribly managed Lawrence locations. Bravo to little Eudora for the managers of this place doing a first-rate job.

I was surprised by the amount of items in this seemingly small store. The aisles were packed with stuff. This is not a very large store but there is a terrific selection. I was able to get my drink and was happy they used Styrofoam which I LOVE. I know it's bad for the environment but it keeps the drinks cooler so much longer. Bad on me. Yes, this is a convenience store but it's not your typical convenience store. They had the regular fare of chips and candies. There was just more to this quaint little store. It has a different energy. You got the feeling they weren't rushing you out of the store like so many other places. They had all sorts of tobacco choices, as well. A clerk even offered to help me which never happens in other stores. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were helpful and nice. A smile goes a long way in customer service. This store is easily accessible and it was easy-in, easy-out. Prices seemed reasonable, as well. Downtown Lawrence is a few blocks away so this is a great location. Highly impressed and pleased. Will go back again.
