The worst Walgreens in the chain of stores. They are always understaffed and the waits for scheduled shots and tests is ridiculous.

My little girl was diagnosed with pneumonia and we had antibiotics sent over to this location. I waited for a little bit and then called up there to make sure that everything was ready before putting my sick little girl in the car to pick it up. I spent over an hour on the phone on hold only to learn that the location is closed. Why would you not have a message like that on your voicemail system.this little girl has pneumonia! And we burn up an entire hour only to learn that your store is closed. I'm calling for a citywide ban on this store. Let's get it closed and shut down for good! read more

I am dissatisfied and disappointed with the evening management and with one of the teen cashiers. It's great that they show up for work and have jobs but with angry sad unhappy employees with no personalities they should just stay home, quit or get fired. I would not want them to represent the Walgreens of Elk River. They should strive to be better. Kindness is free and it is not there!!!! The cashier rolled her eyes at me and when she walked away to get manager she called me an inappropriate B word and I was not being that way. The manager came over and said why does she need a manager she doesn't need one but did everything for her and when I told the manager how rude she was to me she said mmmm that's hard to believe because she is one of the best cashiers!!!! lol zero rating no stars. Awful experience considering I spent a couple hundred dollars in that store in one week. read more

I want to give a big shout out to the manager and her staff! These people are always friendly and work so hard. With the old elk River pharmacy shutting down, road construction and dealing with losing staff.. They still go above and beyond! Working long hours while helping people who may be cranky from life. Nothing but issues since our small town pharmacy closed. My prescriptions were transferred here and I've had nothing but issues. Most recently I had four prescription sent over yesterday from my doctor. Three got filled within a few hours but one kept sitting in pending over 24 hours. I finally decided to call on it. I was willing to pick up a partial prescription and get the rest later. I just wanted my meds. When I got ahold of the pharmacist she said oh looks like it just got set aside. We will fill it in like 20 minutes. If I hadn't called would it still be sitting there lost . Definitely looking for a new pharmacy as soon as possible!! read more

this location has not changed much over the years according to previous reviews here. there is truly a lack of Customer Service in the Pharmacy. that begs the guestions; Are they trained? Over worked? Just don't care? not managed? most times a line to pick up perscription as only one person behind the counter! Ask a question and it's like you asked them to cut off their arm. Admit they made a mistake? never. Real good at pointing a finger. answering the phone? forget about it! last seven calls I timed, 16 min shortest. 26.22 before I hung up and drove to the store only to find it closed during hours posted as open. inconvenience as I'm handicapped. called for a delayed insurance prescription approval. Made 24 phone calls to insurance company and pharmacy, each pointed fingers at the other. I have a document from insurance company noting approved on the 4th. ( due on the 29th) I got my prescription on the 10th. its a controlled substance so understand caution. what I don't understand is lies and the lack of assistance or transparency. requested from both parties a step by step on processing a Workmans Comp prescription. As well as a reason what went wrong here and what will be done to prevent this from happening again. no one seems to care about the person sitting in pain waiting for his or her pain medication. they are taking advantage of my medical assistance in picking up my prescriptions. I picked up my presciptions with SEVERAL of my medications missing. bottles saying quantity of 30 but only 15 in there. I got half the insulin I usually do, type one diabetic for 23 years. I know how much I use a month every month of my life. then they printed and showed me a paper saying when I picked up my prescription but when I went home the dates didn't even add up to the dates on the prescriptions previously picked up and on top of it they were completely rude about it. made false statement about what my insurance allows and when I'm able to pick up. I looked back on prescriptions I have in the fridge and non of the quantity is what I actually received. they've been getting THOUSANDS of extra dollars towards medications I havent received. I keep the prescription papers in my medications until used. MONEY LAUNDERING?!?!?! how can they get away with this? went over to Kemper drug who was able to help me in getting my FULL prescriptions monthly. (every 30 days) I'm just outraged they've been getting away with this for as long as they have. sure, Walgreens is convenien. don't let their convenience enable FRAUD. GO TO KEMPER read more

Worst pharmacist ever. Had 1 year old to urgent care at 4pm on a Sunday with severe diaper rash. Had prescription sent over to Walgreen's because pharmacy was open until 6pm. Got there to pick it up at 4:45 pm and pharmacist said he couldn't mix the medication as he was the only one there and he had other things to do. He said it would take at least an hour to mix he was only there for another hour. Told us we could drive to St. Cloud to have it filled? What??? Completely unwilling to help or do his job and was quite rude!!! Never going there again. Ended up going back to clinic to get paper prescription and went to Walmart pharmacy and had it filled within 20 minutes. Thanks Walmart!!! read more

Just spoke with a pharmacist who was extremely irritated and seemed to be in a big hurry. Definitely not impressed

Arrogant inconsiderate Pharmacist! Went to the Elk River Walgreens to have a new prescription filled along with another. I was told by the Pharm. Tech. after paying for my prescriptions, that one of the prescriptions required the Pharmacist consult me in its use. "He'll be right with you" I was at the drive up window watching as the Pharmacist was checking approx. 15 to 30 bags that had pill bottles in them. He would open the bag, pull out the pill bottle look inside the bottle, close the bottle, re-bag it and staple it. He then dropped it into a bin at which time a different Pharm. Tech. would remove the bags from the bin. Interesting I thought, he must be double checking them. Odd that he would actually roll some of those bottles of pills into his bare hand. Wouldn't there be some cross contamination concerns? After waiting and watching this for over 5 minutes, I pushed the button. Nothing, No "just a minute" or "I'll be right with you" not even a look, a glance from the Pharmacist he just continued on checking the bottles and rolling more pills into his bare hands. This time I waited about 3 more minutes before I pushed the button again. Again not even an acknowledgment, a glance, an index finger held up. At this point all I wanted is my Drivers Lic. and my credit card back. Finally after at least another minute he comes to the window and says He was on the phone. "NO! I was watching you the whole time, you were not talking. I'd like my credit card and DL." I said. He ignored my request at least 4 times for my money to be reimbursed to my card so I could leave. Finally, I'm ashamed to say, wore down, I took the prescriptions and left. He will do this again I'm sure. He got his way. I took the prescriptions. If you are a customer of this Pharmacy, you have my apologies, I should have stood fast and demanded the return of my money. A person so inconsiderate of others and so arrogant as to first ignore a customer and then ignore their request at least four times, should never be in a position of public trust such as a "Pharmacist". read more

I've been using this pharmacy for 6 years and have had primarily good experiences. I love the late hours and drive-up option, which is the reason I've switched all of our prescriptions there. They don't always have the best prices, so check Walmart and Target (especially if you don't have insurance - use the GoodRx app) but are usually up-front about it. The pharmacist has always been helpful, the techs very positive despite tremendous pressure to get 20 people served along with phone calls, and they let you know when your insurance surprises you with little to no coverage on your prescription. The inside staff, however, is a different story. Most are dismissive, have an attitude, and generally act like they don't want to be there. I make a point not to shop inside the store due to two experiences with later evening staff who blatantly glared at me for daring to shop (this was more than an hour to closing time and even if it wasn't, still not warranted) and tried to pass me on to other employees to check out 3 items. The one girl was horribly rude, debated the phone number for my account because it was out of state, rolled her eyes when she had to check me out, and didn't even make eye contact until I made a point to take note of her name...she immediately became apologetic and kind. Imagine that! Overall, I'm very pleased with the pharmacy. I'd use Target if it were closer but their prices are usually within a few dollars. read more
