Unlike some Aldi stores, this one has a wide open entry minimizing congestion and allowing you to go to whatever aisle you need instead of being forced down the first aisle. If you are not familiar with Aldi, there are a few quirky things... - if you want a cart, it costs a quarter which you get back upon returning the cart. This is great in that there are not carts randomly sitting around the parking lot. - paper bags cost $.15 each so remember your own bags - they don't have everything like a large grocery store...but they tend to have the essentials. The Aldi store brand is great for canned goods, snacks, and crackers. - they have a constantly changing variety of "aldi finds" which range from a name brand product at a steep discount to seasonal housewares.

The store has some unique and worthwhile items on the store shelves - including 12 packs of Tab (which preceded Diet Coke) and frozen Gino's East pizzas from Chicago! The only room for improvement I know of would be a self service check-out, new grocery carts to replace the ones that are bent up and perhaps a little more care and tending to the lawns in the summer - unless you love clover.

Of the stores in Menomonie, we think their beef is of the highest quality. We really like them-- I have been trying to get them to do a local food fair and a ad spread to support it . Wisconsin has wonderful artisan cheese makers and several are very near Menomonie -- Eau Galle Cheese-- but the store doesn't carry them. Area apples and produce are incredible -- So to get my fifth star -- Marketplace needs to host a local food fair--in the store -- and show off and stock our wonderful local food producers -- I don't have a dog in this fight --- just want the local producers and store to bond -- i.e.just trying to get up the date -- but I hope they eventually marry.

However at the service counter this younger native i think girl was very standoff ish like she didnt like i took away from her phone time. she walked away when i wasnt even finished speaking. I might be old but i can still pick up on rudeness. But besides that I really enjoyed the store! Very Clean and Organized. Now, you pay a premium for that, and the Aldi nearby is definitely cheaper, but I like to cook all my own means so if I need specific ingredients I don't even hesitate coming here. I know they'll have it. They also have free kids cookies, so it makes bringing the two girls a breeze. Get a free cookie and apple, let them munch, and I'm shopping. I can't believe more places don't offer this. Shelves are always stocked, I see staff everywhere helping out, and the checkout folks are so kind and courteous. They even give the kiddos stickers. Store is clean and carts are always available.
