Freshly cut mangoes from Pooja Grocers
    Abhijit B.

Have been coming here for many months now. Located very conveniently in Fridley, Pooja Grocers offers great selection at convenient prices. The real reason for this review is their latest Mango offering. These mangoes are really tasty and sweet , and at $7 for 7 mangoes , it doesn't get better than this . I looked for mangoes at other Indian grocery stores in Eden Prairie but couldn't find them . So get these mangoes before the season ends

When I go to the shop , I get a feel that I'm in some nilgiris or reliance supermarket in India. Very nice & good quality.

Watch out your bill ! I purchased few item, and a garlic bundle, they added $4.6 for 2.4 lb garlic, which will be hardly 0.2 lb.

After moving back to the Twin Cities from Chicago, I missed going to the Indian grocery stores once a month.

The store is always well stocked and very organized. Prices are as expected for Asian imports-- but definitely cheaper than the American groceries stores that stock similar items! I have yet to try the restaurant but will update once I do The kimbap at checkout is a nice snack when you are on the go. Get it~

I've always shopped at Dong Yang for groceries but have never had their food until now. The place…read moreis tucked in the back of the store, but it was definitely busy for a typical lunch time. I got the kimbap, sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew with seafood), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!
