I was on the westside this morning, and I was out of face masks, and this Walgreens was the closest store in finding them. Although the store is extremely clean, and I was able to find the masks, I must add that the people who work there were rude! They do not greet with a smile, a nod, not anything! I asked a clerk where the face masks were, and she motioned me to follow her. She then grunted that the face masks were down the aisle. When I got in line, to pay, I was rushed through by another rude employee. I greeted him with a "good morning " and he did not answer. Fine. He was obviously in a rush. I paid him, and he handed me my bag. He did not say thank you either. I avoid Walgreens, but I did not have any face masks with me, and the masks help me tremendously with allergies as well as avoiding Covid. read more

Ordered infants Tylenol because my 4month old is sick. Saw the item on my order was canceled. Not even exchanged just canceld. The reason verbatim "oh they were waxing the floor." I try to be as nice to all cashiers because I know how some customers can get. But this cashier with blue hair is by far the worst. She has poor customer service and extremely disrespectful. I enjoy going to Walgreens but I will not frequent this store any longer. She throws the bag on the counter and acts like she doesn't like working there, like it's my fault. Can't even ask a question because she'll stare at you blankly. She prefers to gossip with the other cashiers than pay attention to what she is doing. I have been a customer of this Walgreens location since Thunderbird Lanes was demolished in the '90s. Everyone on the west side of El Paso knows that for the first 15 years this location was in business, the pharmacy was horrible. (See Yelp reviews). Poor, slow, and incompetent pharmacy techs and cashiers--they knew it and didn't care--until CVS came to town. Within the past couple years, Walgreens (everywhere) stepped up their game, updated their stores AND their pharmacy service. Their mobile app and notifications/alerts are awesome, and no doubt, their national footprint is a compelling factor for those of us who travel often and enjoy the convenience of picking up prescriptions on the road. I want to share this INSANE experience I had today, which caused me to move my business to a local pharmacy about a block away that I used to business with frequently. Both pharmacies have my credit card on file for quick checkout, I am recognizable, I have their app on my iPhone with my prescription history, THEY have my prescription history, they have my home and mobile telephone nos on file. My regular prescriptions have not changed in ten yrs. I live less than 2 miles away. I'm not an opioid abuser or reseller. The opioid and prescription drug crisis is not lost on me. I am familiar with federal and state laws aimed at curbing prescription drug abuse. This morning, upon returning from the gym and stopping by Walgreens to pick up a prescription that was waiting for me, it struck me that I didn't have my wallet and therefore no physical form of ID. Not unusual, because I sometimes don't bring my wallet to the gym for fear it will be stolen from my car or the gym. I anticipated this as I walked into the store. For emergency situations, I keep a copy of my drivers license and passport on my mobile phone. Homeland Security has allowed me entrance into the country and TSA has allowed me passage on airlines when I ended up at an airport without my driver's license or passport. I was prepared for the cashier to ask for my personal address (their version of identify verification for every prescription order) and ID. I could provide the pharmacy tech only an image of my driver's license I keep on my iphone. Confused, the clerk took my phone to the back and disappeared, apparently needing to get approval from the pharmacist. I was the only customer at the pharmacy and no cars were in line at the drive through. My identity could have been positively established by 1) being personally known to the pharmacy employees; 2) answering the question correctly about my home address; 3) the pharmacy having my credit card on file and checking it against the same credit card in my Apple wallet; 4) the pharmacy having my mobile no on file; and 4) presenting photographic identification. The clerk denied me my prescription, claiming they needed a "real drivers license". The pharmacist was too busy to greet me or to explain; however the clerk was more than happy to transfer my prescription to the local pharmacy one block away. I am in the process of moving my prescriptions back over to the local pharmacy where common sense seems to prevail over company policy. But most importantly, when I am greeted by the local pharmacy, they say, "Hello, Mr. ____". No ID necessary. No robotic pharmacy techs who aren't trained to think and where there is a revolving door of techs and pharmacists who will never know you well enough NOT to require a photo ID. Walgreens is too big and too busy. They don't need my business. read more

This Walgreens is flooded with customers. They need more staff. Expect to wait a while in line to pick up your prescription or to drop off a prescription. Plus they are all over the place, not organized whatsoever. They don't inform you whether your prescription is filled or not, there is no communication between the pharmacy staff and consumers. Whenever I call to inquire about my prescriptions, I always receive the annoyed employee on the other line who is not helpful whatsoever. For example, I dropped off a prescription there on a Tuesday, was informed they would call the physicians office to have the prescription sent over to their pharmacy and would call me to tell me it was ready. Well this NEVER happened, I was clueless having to go back and forth between Walgreens and my doctors office. When Walgreens had the prescription all along and never cared to inform me. When I call the pharmacy, they put you on hold, over & over & over & over - never answering the phone - EVER - unless you call the store manager to complain with another phone while you're on hold. One time I drove down to this Walgreens while I was on hold for over 30min - not 1 person inside, not 1 person in line at the drive through. I politely confronted the man at the drive up window, & he stammered when he tried to find a reason why he couldn't stop putting me on hold. He had no reason. I've politely talked to the store manager several times. My husband has talked to the store manager several times. no change. Ive changed pharmacies, my relatives have changed pharmacies, my husband has changed to a different pharmacy location that is not convenient for him. I urge you to not use this pharmacy at 5900 North Mesa. They not only are they incompetent, they do not give a rat's azz how they treat you. read more

Automated system wouldn't work and called multiple times and put on hold every time their phone would ring they would pick up and put back on hold. This went on for 4 different calls back to them and for over 40 minutes being put on hold, ringing, put on hold and so forth. The associates just pick up the phone and put it back down to stop it from ringing. I know this for a fact because after the ringing stopped you hear a voice and background noise of the pharmacy and then back on hold as fast as they can move their petty hands. They are not doing their job. This place is not worth anyone's time or money. They probably talk bad about all their customers if this is the way they deal with phone calls. 0 stars. Rude tech at the drive up confirmed my Dr. faxed in my Rx. He said the pharmacist was busy and to "return in one hour." When I returned I was told they didn't have the fax. Now I'm waiting another hour for them to fill the Rx. A 10 min job is now a 3 hour ordeal. read more

Slowest pharmacy and cash register I have ever experienced at a Walgreens in multiple states and cities

The level of incompetence of the pharmacy staff is astounding​. They have screwed up multiple times and have the nerve to chit chat with customers they know while the line is half way through the store. I will say Ahmed, the pharmacy manager, is professional, but I'm taking my thousands of dollars worth of prescriptions to another pharmacy​. Lastly, the manager Brett, stated I was cussing at him. The other three complaints were about the pharmacy and they were old, I ain't sick and especially don't got that diet-bay-tis that doctors try and insist I has so I can't comment on the pharmacy, except they have sum hotties in thur. Lately the store runs like a well oiled Windsor engine and that professional looking guy in his late 20's early 30's is a good looking smooth cat, no homo though. I left this Walgreens some year ago because I was just frustrated of dealing with their lack of care. Today I got a phone consultation and Walgreens is one of the few pharmacies that they call to. I was really trying to give it a try but I can't. I don't know what's wrong with the people working there. I was told that I couldn't give me any information on the phone as to whether or not someone called a prescription for me they asked me for my information and I told them that I had a different insurance. No they cannot take the information over the phone, I have to go. No, they cannot tell me if a prescription was called, I have to go. I am already regretting it. read more

dropped off my prescription before work, came back 9 hours later just for them to tell me the medicine wasn't in stock at this location and then be told they could have it by 3 pm the following day. when i asked the girl if other walgreens had it, she seemed perplexed, and when I suggested she should check, she seemed confused. now I'm not pharmacy tech or a pharmacist but I'm assuming in an 9 hour span you would reasonably get to my script and realize its out of stock. good customer service would be to notify the customer so they dont drive back to walgreens and sit for 45 minutes waiting for you to call other pharmacies. better customer service would be to call other walgreens and check to see of they carry it, then notify the customer as soon as you know. read more

This Walgreens Pharmacy was horrible... I moved out here from Virginia and I ALWAYS used rite aid pharmacy, but unfortunately there isn't any nearby... I understand that they were busy, but they need to be more organized.. I stood in line for about 15 minutes.. i'm not exaggerating, they tried to solve problems and everything at the register.. I worked in a pharmacy back at home and when there was a problem, we handed I over to the pharmacist and asked them to have a seat.. it was never a long wait.. well anyway, I finally get up to the register and of course my prescription wasn't ready.. I went to urgent care around 5 and then called the pharmacy and they said it would be ready in about an hour.. ok cool. I go up there around 8 o'clock and when I walk up to the register, it still isn't finished.. so I went and had a seat. MIND YOU ITS ONLY 4 PILLS THEY ARE PUTTING IN THE BOTTLE. no Cll prescription just something fo nausea.. after waiting 30 minutes I walk up there and it was finished.. I asked the technician why I wasn't called and she said because they are busy.. WTF are you kidding me.. i'm already not feeling good and you tell me that??? if I could give this pharmacy 0 stars..
