I was also looking for some Car Care items and they had a large selection of them. I did not realize how many auto items they sell and the variety of them. First Aid kits, car mats, Armor All sprays and wipes, etc. The prices are higher since the pandemic, many items are 10-50% higher, so inflation is here to stay for a while. Plenty of open registers and nice self checkout section.

Yes, items like laundry detergent.... Weird. I have seen stores that keep expensive OTC drugs or expensive make up items under glass or plastic doors, but never seen detergents. I thought this was really odd and funny at the same time. The store itself is small, not as big as other ones in the Providence metro area, but they do have 2 self checkout counters in the front of the store.

I know this because I have a client who gets her medicine delivered from them and she lives in assisted-living by Lassale trine. They also have cards as well as other types of toiletries and pharmacy items you need like powder or cream more that type of stuff. I went in yesterday and they have now put in a eyeglass store so you can bring your prescriptions in and pick up the eyeglasses and stuff and have them filled so it's kind like one stop shopping type of thing. This Walgreens, at "the corner of happy and healthy", is in actuality near the corner of Warren and…read morePawtucket Avenue in East Providence and completes the trifecta of pharmacies at this four corners (CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens). It also plays into the theme of this business section by being open 24 hours a day (like the other pharmacies, gas station, and Dunkin Donuts as well). Needless to say, you can pretty much get whatever you need any time of day around here. With a large parking lot, this Walgreens location is usually very clean, well stocked, and brightly lit. I have always had good experiences with the employees here, quite sociable and willing to help you find an item. Checkout is usually complete in a breeze. If there is someone stationed in the cosmetics department, keep in mind that you can use this register to check out as well... instead of waiting in line at the front of the store. Kind of like in department stores when you can check out in the electronics department. There is a drive-thru pharmacy, photo department, and other usual sections found in these sorts of stores. Perhaps it is the nurse in me, but for some reason I noticed they have a larger selection of canes and assistive walking devices that its rival stores. They have a Balance Rewards program that I am not as fond of as some of the others I have encountered out there. You can earn points on certain purchase and with prescription refills (5,000 points = $5... $10,000 points = $10 and so on) as well as "Register Reward" coupons that print out for money off your next purchase. My only gripe is that you usually cannot use these Register Reward coupons on future purchase that also earn you Register Rewards. There is no restriction like that with ExtraCare Bucks or +UpRewards at CVS and Rite Aid. ... something to think about if you are an extreme couponer like me! ...

This Walgreens has its own private parking lot with strict 30 min parking spots to keep things moving. I had no trouble finding a parking spot, even at a busy time of day. Assumption #2: The pharmacy must be tiny with not a large variety of OTC products & other goods. Verdict: Wrong! It's very deceiving. It looks super small from the outside, but it's pretty spacious inside with a large beauty & skin section. I found the exact falsies I was looking for. It was clean inside, the staff was friendly, & I found the experience to be not-frustrating which is generally what I'm looking for when it comes to pharmacy errands. I will definitely be back to this Walgreens specifically. I might even move my prescription here.

I have been faithful...for years...to CVS. As I was reading my kids their bed time story, I was…read morethinking...why...why CVS for so very long? Wall-to-wall carpet. Seems odd but that is the answer, friend. Every CVS that I walk into is carpeted. And quiet. And soothing. Odd because I can't stand wall-to-wall in my own home. Our hardwoods are torn to shreds but I will not staple down the poly fibers. But I think about other pharmacies and they all pretty much have the shiny tile squares that clickety-clack when you walk on them. Never knowing when they've been last polished, you gotta be careful your leather botton kicks don't slip. But CVS? No worries. Your heels are safely cradled in the soft carpet caress. And shiny tile squares remind me of cafeterias and hospitals...and...um...not so soothing thoughts. I especially like this location. They have a drive-up pharmacy and a tricked out photo lab with multiple scanners and one hour photo service. The store is always well-stocked, clean and neat. The in-store staff is terrific both at the front and at the pharmacy. Up front, they launch a code red type announcement if there are more than two people in line. Yeah - you know my time is valuable. Nice. The pharmacy staff churns out the prescriptions in record time and the actual pharmacist will walk out to help out with medicinal inquiries. The pharmacy calls now get routed to a call center, not the actual pharmacy. This annoys me because sometimes I want to talk to one of the pharmacists that I know. Knocks the star down a notch from being the total five star pharmacy wonder. The parking is easy. Location is convenient. Staff friendly. Carpet on the floor. Guess that covers it!

Since it's on Thayer it's going to have more offerings geared to the college students. This CVS is closer to my home which makes it my CVS and sometimes I'll get the odd craving to make cheap macaroni and find myself at 11:30 at night parking on or around Thayer for a quick food run. Speaking of parking, it's not easy finding a spot as they don't have a lot and trying to find a space in that area is almost futile at certain hours of the day.
