They have a wide selection of products, everything is always stocked, and the staff is really friendly! I always have multiple people greet me and the cashiers make conversation while you're checking out (which I enjoy). The only downside is the pharmacy staff. Now that they totally remodeled this Walgreen's and it looks great! Larger and more stuff. My only gripe is when I go to pay for my stuff. I have been in there at 10:30AM on a Tuesday, at 10PM on a SUNDAY, 1:30PM on a Monday and every. Single. Time there's LINE! They need to either hire more cashiers, or get with the CVS program and get some damn self serve checkouts! read more

Poor service at the pharmacy. I was told my prescription would take 45min to an hour wait. I patiently waited an after an hour I politely ask if it was ready and they hadn't even started it, both cashiers were rude as hell as if it was my fault they had to work today. I won't be back. read more

I remember the old one well, and kinda have nostalgia for that old location here, which I later learned was a Dominick's in the 50s and 60s, before it moved a block south(now Whole Foods). Anyway, I like how this store is much better in its current incarnation, and is more spacious inside. Typical Walgreens, but it does seem cleaner than a lot of other locations. Be careful if you drive here, and park in their the parking lot. This is where I'll deduct a star, for that issue I noticed the other day. Just like how the parking lot was with the strip mall containing the old Walgreens that was torn down for the current Walgreens, the width of the parking spaces is still narrow, and in the middle of the lot the paint has already faded on the spaces. Even saw a handwritten note that was stuck under the windshield wiper of someone's car that they parked awfully in the middle of that parking lot, and I felt slightly bad for that driver! I'm pretty sure people from LA Fitness often park in the spaces by Walgreens(and away from the 'L tracks, though signage by Walgreens says it's just for Walgreens customers. bet it isn't enforced well), so you might want to consider parking in the spaces east of the driveway/alley and closer to the 'L tracks if you're worried about a car door hitting your car. I kinda wish the width of the spaces would be widened slightly even if it meant the loss of 2-3 spaces, but that's just me. read more

I love Walgreens because I can buy snacks, magazines, toiletry items and vitamins all in the same place. However, this place sucks. The automated doors are broken and the store is always dirty. I hope this store is in line for renovation soon. read more

This place always seems super busy to me at the front. There are never enough cashiers working for how many people are in the store. I have also had problems with the Pharmacy actually picking up their phone. Last week I called them to order a refill and was on hold so long I walked from our house at Glenwood/Rosemont all the way to Walgreens and right up to the counter. What. I shop at this Walgreens at least twice a week. They always have what I want. The lines are usually long at peak times, but they always call up extra cashiers to the photo or cosmetics counter to help. The customer service is always good. The big problem is the panhandlers. I will not visit this store after dark because of the panhandlers. Most of the time, there's one on either side of the door and then someone else selling Streetwise. It's a battle to just get in and out of the store. I asked one of the clerks why they don't hire a security guard. She said they've called the cops a few times, but the panhandlers come back as soon as the cops leave. I don't understand this. There's a Whole Foods across the street and they don't have panhandlers. Many times I've gone to the store and not gone in because of the panhandling problem. Fix it, Walgreens!. read more

This Walgreens is being torn down soon and completely rebuild. While the physical building is gone the pharmacy will be in a trailer in the parking lot. I LOVE the pharmacy staff here they are always attentive and ask how my meds are working out and seem genuinely interested. One of them is very lovingly motherly with me and remembers me every time I'm in for refills. The staff made sure I was in patient assistance programs from the drug company for my meds so my co pay with insurance is $0. I can't speak much to the retail staff here but the pharm staff is AMAZING! read more

The new location is awesome, a huge improvement on the previous space. I agree with the reviewer who noted there always being a line at the check-out. Its's the same for me. I'd like to see more cashiers or self-service check out. That said, the new location is spacious, clean and a great addition to a changing neighborhood. read more

Pretty, clean store with the worst customer service EVER-especially in the pharmacy department. Handed in my 'script . .was told it would be a 45" wait . .hard to do when you don't feel well. After 45", I checked in again with Rachel and she looked like a deer in headlights . . didn't recognize me and could find my 'script which was "lost in circulation"(??) Waited another 10"-spoke to the manager (another young incapable) and finally got my pills. There's a woman in an "information" booth next to the prescription counter who can't even look up from her computer to make eye-contact and help . .for obvious reasons, her name was hidden. Apparently. these people do not understand that you don't feel well when you're waiting for prescription to be filled. I'm going back to CVS. read more

I love my neighborhood Walgreens. It is like a second grubby home. The staff is friendly. In fact, one time this forceful mother-like woman forced me to buy another kind of shower gel because it was on sale and I would save money. Another cashier once told me to return my dish soap because another kind was half price. It's a nice Walgreens. Clean and run well except for the pharmacy dept. the Asian lady always looks stressed out and feels like she's rushing you. And some pharmacy tech apparently can't hear properly because after telling her which medicine I needed and waiting 20 minutes, I still didn't get the right medicine even though I told her it's my most important and most needed medicine. Needless to say I was really pissed that they didn't pay attention to anything I said but just nodded her head going through the motions. I was going to write two stars but after reading the other reviews I forgot just how annoying and how horrible the panhandlers are out there. They might as well jump me for money. I swear people just go around asking for money up and down that Broadway block and Walgreens is the worst location they might as well pitch a tent for them. I don't see any problems at the Whole Foods down the block. It really does make you want to go to CVS instead across the street read more

OK, this may not be the best of locations, but I love this Walgreens!!! This store is really organized with all the sales items marked for that week's sale and even tagged with that month's Easy Saver Catalog details. What other Walgreens does that?!? This Walgreens is remodeled and new. They have a lot of grocery items and general supplies. I never had any problems with the pharmacy (calling, driving through, web ordering or picking up in person), but I always have to wait a while when I am buying anything else up front. There is always a line up at the counters, whether it's busy or not. The cashiers need to be more proactive when people are coming in the store. If you are driving, just remember that the parking lot is tight because people across in the LA Fitness park here (when they should be parking across the side street). Just FYI, here are a lot of aggressive panhandlers here at night. read more

If you read my first review from the Walgreens on Bridge Avenue you'll see that I was less than pleased with their ability to handle or not handle my pretty standard prescription. I have to give a giant shout out and kudos to this Walgreens and the pharmacist on duty right now. I drove about four minutes to this location. I drove up to the window. The attendant told me that they just received the transfer and it would be a few minutes. I literally only waited five minutes in total for the pharmacist to fill my prescription and to pay for the prescription. Bravo way to make the Walgreens company look good in spite of a bad system at another location! I will definitely have to think about coming to this location more often as they really seem to pride themselves with making their customers happy and doing whatever it takes to go the extra mile. I really hope that Walgreens executives read their yelp reviews! read more

This review is strictly of the pharmacy, not the general store: This is my local Walgreens, so I've chosen to have meds filled here out of convenience. My experience has been consistently frustrating and disappointing, and I'm now taking my business elsewhere. My main issue: On several occasions, I've been told that I would have to communicate directly with my insurance provider and doctors because the meds I've been prescribed are not covered. In my experience with other pharmacies, this sort of communication is always handled by a pharmacist, rather than a customer, because a pharmacist can cut through health insurance red tape much more readily and can act as a liaison between insurance companies and health care providers. This particular location refused to handle this for me, leaving me with (I kid not) several hours of phone calls to call center employees for my insurance company and to receptionists for my doctors. After going through through this three times, I decided to move my business to another pharmacy. If you choose to use this pharmacy, know that they will only do the bare minimum to assist you. If there are complications, you'll be on your own to iron them out. read more

Both days I patiently wait 45 minutes before asking in attempt to avoid being "that guy" and suddenly they scramble to actually fill it. It's rude. I can understand if it's super busy but it wasn't. I go to this Walgreens quite often as I live right around the corner. I would always be rung up by the same cashier Dwayne. He's always really nice and doesn't ignore me like most cashiers he makes eye contact. Haven't seen him recently though kind of a bummer. The reason I didn't give a better score is because the pharmacy service seems to be lacking. I went in today to pick up a prescription. It was around 9 o'clock no line, but also didn't see a pharmacist there to help me. There was however the pharmacist that sits at the little desk on a computer and ignores you. Was standing there for a whole song , so i asked her if anyone was there. she seemed very annoyed like I bothered her, rudely she said just stand in line (no line) and someone will see you. Few minutes later someone pops out from the back and has a conversation with the women on the computer before even acknowledging me. Didn't even get my prescription, said had to call my doctor. other than the pharmacy, this place is okay. read more

Sooooo frustrated with this place. I totally understand we can be short staffed or just simply super busy however it is not my fault. I had to go back 3 times in one day because they had to have someone override a prescription and no one could do it. Unfortunately walgrees is the only pharmacy in my insurance network. Then on another occasion my husband went into to pick up a prescription for me in which when he dropped it off they told him a 15 min wait... After 20 mind he asked what happened and the same girl said oh I'm sorry we don't have this here. She did not offer to contact another store or even suggest calling a generic brand or even calling the doctor for a different one. They when he asked for a different one they made him wait another 30 mind before even calling the doctor. Today I just called into make sure my prescription was sent in and the girl very rudly said it would be ready in an hour and HUNG UP... TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I had such a disappointing transaction today at this location. I walked in there ready to spend $40 I didn't need to on batteries, deodorant, whatever. The blonde ringing me up couldn't me more bothered with doing her job. When I questioned whether the batteries were on sale for buy one get one 1/2 off, she said she'd have to check and quickly walked away. When she returned she said they were regular price (even though, I'm pretty sure there was a sign about the second set). When I told her I didn't need the second set, she called for a void and walked away. The manager came up voided the ENTIRE sale and said she'd be right back. Prior to him voiding the whole thing, I said I only wanted to remove the one item and he quickly flicked his key to erase the entire transaction. Rather then have to endure the clerk's begrudging attitude and give that Walgreen's $40, I figure I'd go to the CVS across the street. read more
