So I see a very common theme here about the pharmacy. It's garbage and I pulled everything from them yesterday. I'm happy I'll never have to see them again. I have filed complaints with corporate and as well with the state. BCBS is investigating on their side since I've elevated with them as well. The pharmacist Jermey should be fired. BCBS even called them to help resolve the issue I had with a script and they couldn't believe his bedside manner. The agent was like wow, he has an attitude. I said so it's not just me, right? I get it, your in a thankless job but to be rude, bitter and miserable is not the brand Walgreens used to be. I had two scripts that were ready and processed before YE. My doc called in a script post 1/1. The store called and said your insurance expired. I told the tech on the phone we are now using express scripts. She said not a problem just bring your card in and we will apply it to the new script. She said your other scripts are ready as well. When I came in the tech re ran all the scripts under the new insurance causing a cost increase of over $800 for one script. I even told her to just run it on the new script that has the retail price. She then realized her mistake (although she told me that's not want I told her) and had to talk to another pharmacist. BCBS said they don't understand why she would have re ran it if the claim was approved. They said that doesn't even make any sense and she must have not been trained. In any event, she made a mistake and stuff happens. Well, they wouldn't own up to the mistake and wanted to charge me the higher price. This is fraudulent. Jermey called me the next morning and even stated what I was doing made sense but said decision lies with me and I'm not doing anything. You could tell he got off and excited by saying no. He's evil. He must hate his life and takes it out on customers. You can tell everyone there is stressed and it starts from the TOP! Earlier this year, my PCP called in a script and he called me saying your doctor can't call that in I'm reporting him! Dude, calm down. Call the doc then as I'm sure he made a mistake. He's the doctor. You're the pharmacist. Don't take it out on me. The script was filled. Something is way off here... I've told friends about it too and they have similar complaints. I'm not letting this go. I'm happy to see other complaints and when the state reaches out I'll be sure to reference these reviews. Management needs to get this worked out. Oh I also have pics from the app of the cost I was supposed to be charged before Walgreens made the mistake. CVS was a delight later that day. They even asked me if I had any questions on the scripts. Stay away from this place!!! read more

Clean Walgreens at a perfect location, best part of all was that it was 24/7. For me it was basically down the street from my hotel which worked perfectly for me. The employee was nice as well, quick in and out. read more

The service at the pharmacy needs improvement. It has declined recently. The lines are too long during peak hours because there are not enough people working behind the counter. If there are 12 people in line, please have more than one person working at a register. The staff that is on duty seems stressed and overworked. read more

Allows panhandlers to hang out at the door. This makes the store feel unsafe upon entry and exit. This is my second post regarding the same issue. I thought it got better in the short term but panhandlers are back. It is intimidating to walk into this store and the management needs to be accountable for offering a safe passage in and out of the store. read more

The walgreens is very clean and one of the better walgreens if you need a convenience item. My gripe here is the pharmacy. This is the second time I've been here and they've been incorrect on times. First the. They said it would only be 15 minutes so I waited.....for over an hour. Second time I said I would come back later and give more time. I first of all would like that all employees everywhere at any retail job. It is so hard working when everyone feels as though they are your boss. I think customer service is taken too far now a days. I worked in accounting most of my life and have never had a retail job. When I told a friend I would help him in his store, it was the worst year of my life. People complained about everything and anything. I stayed sick that year with some of the worst headache that I have ever had. No more retail work for me, so now when I enter into any store I thank God its not me waiting on customers and I appreciate those who do. I mean you never know who hating on you and for what reason. People get a life and quit trying to belittle someone elses. read more

As I got off the train this morning, I needed a quick snack to take me through the day. Needing something close to the #8 Halsted bus, this Walgreens location was perfect. I bought some Planter's NUT-rition nuts for a sale price of $3.79 (normally 5 something). This WAG store is clean, close to public transportation, open 24 hours and has proper ad tags for their products, big plus in Chicago! read more

I've never ran into panhandlers when I come here, but I'm not surprised by other yelpers complaints. I come to this Walgreen when I am staying the Crowne Plaza, cause it's just so darn convenient, and apparently I don't trust supermarkets with parking on the roof (I'm talking about you Dominick's). The staff here is super friendly and always joking around with one another, but they do take time to help you and be courteous. Things seem alil pricey, but I am from out of town and Chicago has crazy sales tax. Oh and the signs in Greek never get old. read more

For some reason (ahem, stupid boot) I go to Walgreens often. During the week, I go to the one nearest my work, but on the weekends I hit up the 24-hour Walgreens on Halsted. They have all of the same stuff, the pharmacists at both places are extremely nice and fast, but the kicker is that the employees are actually really nice at this one. I normally dont waste my time with negative reviews but this walgreens pharmacy for three months straight have been awful. Lines have been at least 15-20 people deep. Sometimes with one employee checking people out yet four employees are visible in the back and not once offering to help the one employee out. This has just been as of recently but 3 months str8 same situation for my monthly refills which is why i gave em 2 starts instead of 1. read more

The staff is fantastic. The company they work is awful. It takes 30 minutes to talk to so someone at the store. Total disregard for customers needs . Greektown Walgreen's is always an adventure... The last time I went here, my friend and I were confronted by a homeless guy in the greeting card aisle who scolded me for not smiling at him, demanded to know where we went to church, then pestered us for money and/or food. Usually the aggressive panhandling only takes place just outside of the door. Unfortunately, this 24-hour Walgreen's is too damned convenient and there isn't a viable alternative nearby, so I'm stuck with it. read more

What isn't there to like about Walgreens? There's always something to buy at Walgreens! I used to work near the one around 400 N Michigan Ave and the staff never changed which was kinda nice. The location in Greektown is my primary Walgreens and while I haven't gotten to be buddies with any of the staff, there is always someone within ear shot willing to help, especially with items behind lock and key. This store also has a big wide aisle of seasonal items which is great during the holidays. Everyday basics are always well-stocked and the store is bright and clean. The in-store cash machine is also a nice convenience. read more

I've been to this Walgreens countless times and the cashiers are usually VERY friendly, so I was shocked when I went in on Monday to return a pack of nicotine gum that tasted... off. I've purchased the Walgreens brand nicotine gum before, which was fine, so I think this package was just defective and frankly, I didn't feel comfortable ingesting it. Plus it was $40+ for one box, so I wasn't just going to toss it without getting my money back. I went to return the defective product and when I reached the register, the male cashier said they "can't do returns on tobacco products." I kindly explained that nicotine gum is not tobacco, to which the male cashier said, "It's pretty much the same thing." Seriously? That's like saying a can of coke is the same as an apple because they both contain sugar. Anyway, I asked if there was a number I could call and the cashier bluntly said no. Then he asked his associate (possible store manager?) and she abrasively shouts (in the very crowded store), "NOPE. CAN'T RETURN IT EVER. NOPE." I get back to my car, read the receipt and right underneath the nicotine gum, it reads: return value: $40. Weird Walgreens would put a return value on something that the corporation has a policy against returns for, right?! So I called a customer support line at the bottom of the receipt (that the staff said didn't exist) and they told me to go to another store because returns are up to the store managers. AND, even if there is a clear return value written on the receipt, there's nothing customer service can do for me if that employee is in a bad mood. Wow, great company policy. I went to the Walgreens in Gold Coast, returned it fine, and even received an apology for the defective gum! Go figure. I'd gladly trek to a farther Walgreens so I never have to interact with the staff from Monday night again, but the corporate policy that prevents them from handling their own misinformed staff is pretty messed up, too. read more

This is my favorite Walgreens location, I am 150% a Walgreens fan, however.......the employees here are the absolute WORST. Nothing but PROBLEMS here EVERY time. Came to pharmacy after getting confirmation call that prescriptions were ready. So they are but they can't process insurance because of a technical issue -- refuse to call to validate and will only charge full price or nothing. Frustrating. I'm done with Walgreens pharmacy forever. read more

Wen to this Walgreen's this morning to buy tennis balls. The whole place was being rearranged and they were working on a bunch of stuff that looked like they should work on when the store is closed, but I digress. Because the store was in complete disarray I ask an employee to help me out. This guy provided amazing service especially for 6 am. He couldn't leave his post at the front of the store and called on a number of people to help cover the register. It really seemed like he was the only one willing to work. After 5 min of effort finally someone cover his spot and he ran into the stockroom to retrieve my tennis balls. I'm giving this wall green's four stars based solely on his effort and the fact that they had the products I needed. If based on the others it may get two stars. read more

I called earlier in the week to fill a prescription and I never heard back from anyone to let me know if it was ready or not. I called back at the end of the week and they tell me that they cannot fill my prescription b/c I don't have any refills. They could've told me this when I first called and now I'm delayed in taking what I need. Sargon was not helpful at all and was quite rude actually about the whole situation. I called my doctor first thing on Monday and they said my prescription was verified and confirmed by the pharmacy a couple of months ago and that I do have refills available. This place has poor customer service and needs a more empathetic staff - especially in this field. read more

This particular pharmacy has several technicians that are completely inept. My spouse needs medication to, literally, keep him alive. One technician in particular clearly does not possess the mental fortitude that many people taking medications may also need them to stay alive. The computer was reading that several of the medications were on back order and wouldn't be in until the next day. My spouse had just gotten out of the hospital an hour before and these were newly prescribed meds that my spouse had to have the same day. Instead of coming up with a solution, which I generously donated to her, she shut down completely and did nothing. Here's the kicker- both of the medications were on the shelf. There weren't the full amount of the Rx, but enough to get through until the next day. These were meds he needed to take immediately. We only found out the meds were there after we spoke to a pharmacist. The tech had no desire to help us in any way. She looked miserable and completely brain dead. I love Walgreens, but damn! Please be more selective when hiring. read more

Sargon is the pharmacist at this Walgreens and let me tell you, he's absolutely amazing. If I'm ever in the area visiting family, I'll make it a point to stop at this pharmacy and fill any prescriptions that I have. He's always super helpful when it comes to my ridiculous and random questions about every prescription that I fill. I've had other pharmacists at other locations get impatient with my questions... sorry, not sorry... but Sargon has honestly always been really helpful - really friendly guy! There have been a few times when I've needed a prescription filled super quickly and he's made sure to get it to me right away. I've had bad experiences at other locations with waiting for over an hour for a prescription to get filled - which I think is a tad bit ridiculous. I feel bad for not reviewing this location sooner! The rest of the Walgreens staff is also super friendly and polite. Awesome location! :) read more

This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been to and most likely the worst Walgreens I will EVER go to. I don't think I have gone a single time where they could find my Rx within 15 minutes (as in a "real 15 minutes", not hyperbole 15 min =~5 min of real time). I have also gone twice to pick up prescriptions after receiving the text from them saying it was ready to pick up. Only to drive over, park, wait in line for 20 minutes (BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS A LINE AT THE PHARMACY!!! STAFF MORE PEOPLE!!!!) then after looking around for the script I was just told moments ago was ready, I was told there was an issue with the prescription. Then I was just pushed to the side and told to call the manager, like a threat rather than take any accountability for their mistake. We will lie to you, inconvenience you, make you wait forever, wait more, then oops we screwed up, deal with it. This type of service will make all Walgreens extinct. I have always preferred Walgreens to CVS or any other pharmacy for that matter....Until now. Whoever is responsible for this Walgreens either needs to become self aware that their unit is a mess and make some changes or plan on burning it down for the insurance money. I refuse to give this place any more of my or my health care provider's money. I would prefer to drive a couple miles to a different Walgreens or set out for brave new worlds where I will be treated with some modicum of respect along with actually walking out with the prescription I came to get....oh yea, and not threatened by some angry little pharmacist for his screw up to "call the manager" as if he is reporting me to the principal. Not to mention, if I was his manager and I had people calling me all day because one of my pharmacists was incompetent, I would not be thrilled about it.
