Walgreens Chanhassen Pharmacy: Rude Staff, Long Waits, and Zero Accountability One of the worst pharmacy experiences I've ever had. My doctor sent my prescription at 2:30 p.m., and I didn't get a pickup notice until 7:00 p.m. When I arrived, the drive-thru line was completely backed up -- I sat for 45 minutes, trapped behind four cars. The pharmacy never answers the phone, so I called the store and was told to come inside because they were still open. I went in at 8:00 p.m., only to be told they were "done for the night," despite the long wait and the wrong information I was given. Then an employee snapped, "Ma'am, we are not McDonald's," and told me to go to another Walgreens. Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I left without the medication I needed the night before Thanksgiving -- something that would've taken them two minutes to fill. And after looking at Yelp, it's clear this location has had years of negative reviews with no improvement. They obviously get enough business that they don't feel the need to fix anything. Avoid this Walgreens. Management needs to step in. I will definitely be finding another pharmacy. read more

The store is poorly run. I am stuck going here because of my insurance. There's never any staff anywhere, prescriptions ordered in the morning aren't available before close, and the lines are always 20- 30 minutes (at least!). Awful experience. The staff are friendly, and I do feel for them as customers are often frustrated. read more

First time at Walgreens. Last time at Walgreens. I came to pick up an Rx. First, stand in line for 30 minutes. Rx was run incorrectly. Had to re run. Had to find the guy who could rerun. Wait 20 minutes. Guy gets Rx RE run after another 20 minutes. It's been an hour to pick up an Rx that I got a text telling me it was ready. Now it's ready. We waited in line and they said the prescription wasn't ready and they would Call me over the loud speaker. They finally called me and then made me wait in a very long line AGAIN to pay for it. I couldn't just pay when my name was called after waiting in line the first time. read more

Went in on the 19th and had a passport photo taken. They said it could be a couple days but to leave my name and number for when it's ready. I did and a week later still haven't heard from them. Not very good service in my opinion. read more

Worst. 2 weeks trying to get medication filled. received messages it was ready only to show up and it be "on hold for insurance". Multiple times. I love the pharmacists, especially the main guy . However, there is one cashier at the store entrance who is rude, abrupt, and actually pushes the buttons on the check-out screen for the customers if they aren't fast enough. One time I wanted to use my card for a debit, and she reached over and pressed "credit" for me before I had a chance to make my choice. I use this pharmacy for multiple family prescriptions every month and have never experienced any of the issues others stated. They're very nice and efficient plus I love the drive thru pickup lane for when I don't feel like going inside. If you need to check prescription status just log into the website or call through the automated system. (And if you really need to talk to someone you can, but totally unnecessary for something as simple as prescription status). I also have a couple that are crazy expensive at the start of the year and they always check in with me to make sure I'm aware of the price before picking up and also have helped find coupons etc. They are great here! read more

This Walgreens tends to be clueless. Several times I have had problems filling prescriptions. Today, my usual Walgreens missed giving me a prescription I needed, and because I was headed out of town they called this pharmacy and asked them to fill it for me. The pharmacy refused to refill, saying it was too soon to refill. I asked them to call the other Walgreens, but they refused. When I called the other Walgreens they said they had already removed it from the system and called the Benefits Manager. This Walgreens still refused to fill it. I had surgery today and was prescribed two meds of which one was for pain. This pharmacy actually closed without filling my meds! When we dropped the meds off, they said they were busy and it might take 1-2 hours but would let me know when the prescriptions were ready for pickup. I dropped them off at 4:15. I called at 8:15 to check on the meds. The pharmacy closed at 8:00 and I don't have any meds!! Don't use this pharmacy! read more

Slowest drive thru service I've ever had. This is my regular pharmacy and every time I go to pickup my prescriptions, I have to plan to wait in line for a minimum of 15 minutes, usually closer to 25. I think it takes so long because they offer to fill prescriptions while you wait there in your car; this causes the line to grow and the wait times to exponentially lengthen. read more

Terrible customer service, especially in the pharmacy. They are always rude over the phone, it is incredible how often I am yelled at or hung up on just to find out if a prescription is ready for pick up. Something is really off about the employees of this store. read more

Came in with prescription request from clinic. Assistant advised it would take 15 min. Sat and waited 1 hour. When I checked to see if it had been ready, the pharmacist said she needed to verify my address. However, I had been sitting in the waiting room right next to her the last hour. Terrible wait times today. I've tried to fill a prescription twice today at the drive up window. I left after 10 minutes the first time due to no line movement. This time it's been over 35 minutes to get to the window. I don't recommend this location. read more

Worst Walgreens ever!!! Store not stocked with items on a regular basis and my biggest complaint is the TERRIBLE pharmacy!!! Prescriptions never ready and I'm sitting here with 3 other people and we are all discussing how awful this location is!! I will probably switch to the CVS up the street. read more

After reading the poor reviews concerning the pharmacy and the customer service at the Chanhassen Walgreens, I had to respond. I have a completely opposite viewpoint versus the other three people offering their opinions. I have always been greeted warmly when I enter the store. The shelves are always stocked with the things that I am looking to buy. When you go there, always go to the overstock sales shelf in the back, great deals. Join their frequent buyer program, it's very good and easy to redeem your bonus dollars. Also, signup for their electronic messaging system, again it's simple and effective. Now for the pharmacy, the pharmacists, and the staff; they are knowledgeable, willing to help and they helped save my life five years ago. And that is their job. To make sure I have the correct meds, the correct dosage, that they are dispensed at the correct time, and help manage the drug interaction that may occur due to multiple doctors,. Their stupid auto-call system let us know that our prescriptions were ready when, in fact, only one of the three was, and we had to wait another half-hour (they said ten minutes) for the rest of the prescriptions to be filled. The real problem, of course, was that some real person triggered the auto-call system prematurely. Especially when you have a long drive to the store it is really annoying. read more
