I'm usually able to find any odd or end that I'm looking for here. I love that Walgreens has a little bit of everything. I was even able to get a couple small gifts on Christmas Day. (I'm normally not that person but life catches up to you sometimes.) I used the pharmacy drive through once and it was slow. But it kept me from getting out of the car with a sick child. So no worries. The staff here is very friendly. In fact on my little Christmas Day trip, me and one of the clerks were all dressed up. I have been going to this location for about five years now and the customer service is always great! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I use the photo department to print my photos and I am always happy with the results. When we moved here 20 years ago or at least close to this, the Walgreens here in Castaic was great. Over the past year we have gotten notifications on our Walgreens mobile app from this location that our prescriptions have been filled & were READY to pick up. However, when we arrive to pick them up, we are told that they are indeed NOT ready. Recently, I actually went into the store personally to pick up a prescription, showing them my phone/mobile app confirming the notification that my prescription had been processed and was ready to pick up. When I arrived - I was told by the pharmacist that my prescription was indeed NOT ready and that I could pick it up in a couple of days. Then the pharmacist realized that a couple of days would be on Sunday and due to their hours changing/this location was now closed on Sundays. Due to this she (in person) informed me that I could pick my prescription up tomorrow/Saturday. Today/Saturday my daughter and I drove back to the pharmacy where were told that the prescription was NOT ready and that was TOO early to pick up - even though my doctor authorized the refill and I was told in person by this location yesterday that I could return today to pick it up. When I arrived - I was told that my prescription was NOT READY & furthermore I was admonished/told that they would go ahead & fill it for me anyway but to not attempt to pick up authorized prescriptions early (when notified that they were ready) in the future!!! I would not have bothered or made the trip to collect the prescription if not only the mobile app OR the pharmacist had not told me IN PERSON that my rx was ready, Not only this, but my prescriptions are being filled by my MD, but when I request the refills be filled through this Walgreens app. they are NOT being sent to my MD. This has been confirmed because I have contacted my MD/refill dept in person when my refills are running late and my refill dept is telling me that they NEVER received the prescription refill request from this Walgreens location even though the Walgreens app says that it WAS sent to my doctor and that Walgreens is awaiting my physicians approval for the refill. Something is not right with this Pharmacy and I personally do not think it is a technology error re this particular location/pharmacists. I would like to clarify that the techs/employees who work at Walgreens (aside of the pharmacy) are extremely courteous going above and beyond helping me whenever needed. The only issue I have with this location is with the pharmacy/pharmacist. What to do? read more

Very rude to customers. They don't make transactions easy to the customers. Instead of being helpful, I was met with passive aggressiveness. Just feeling disappointed in them. I held Walgreens to a higher standard and they let me down. read more

Staff always welcome you as you walk though the door. Pharmacist are also very attentive and helpful.

The drive-through service is absolutely atrocious, it's like they don't even care, they see you and ignore you. I've literally waited 20 minutes there. Why even have a drive-through? Get rid of it. If you can't do it properly, Drive Through's are supposed to mean speedy service, but at Walgreens, it's the opposite. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Then they say they only have one of the two prescriptions and to come back in 15 minutes, I come back in an hour and it's still not ready. This is happened not once not twice, but many many times and don't even get me started on their lunch hour break. read more

We have been here a couple of times lately. Everyone is using facial covering masks, and practicing the social distancing. We bought sun screen, Red Bulls and some snacks here. We are not from here so have not tried the pharmacy. The store has very ample parking and it is a very clean store staffed by helpful, friendly employees. Walgreens Castaic has a terrible pharmacy from customer service to their pharmacist! They are slow and not helpful when there is a problem. They do no follow up with your doctor, they cancel your prescriptions, they put you on automatic refill without you asking. Most terrible experience ever! Don't go there until they get their crap together and that may be never! read more

I received a call from Wallgreens pharmacy auto-attendant indicating I had an rx to pick up. I called the pharmacy to alert them I did not currently have any open rx with them. The person who claimed mgr. kept speaking right over me before he heard what I had to say, forcing options I was not interested in such as turn all call options for me. I said that wouldn't work because for future rx I'd like to know when they are ready. When I asked him if I could finish my sentence, he rudely said he was speaking, as he repeatedly interputed from the first words out of my mouth.. He spoke super fast and had very lazy speech. What a shame. They just lost my business. read more

The store is ok, not great, but ok but the pharmacy is the worst! They lose prescriptions, don't have common meds in stock, don't communicate with patients truthfully. I have been told that they were waiting in a call from the refill dept but come to find out from another employee, they actually didn't have the medication in stock and forgot to order! I have tried to use this pharmacy about 4 different times and have now given up and I go to Ralph's pharmacy instead This all is quite common it seems, ask any customer at the pharmacy and they'll have a frustrating story for you too read more

I have NEVER had a good run in with a pharmacy....EVER. UNTIL NOW. I absolutely love this pharmacy. The techs and pharmacist are amazingly nice, knowledgeable and quick. They explain everything in detail and I don't leave feeling unsure of whatever med it is im taking. I also don't spend an hour in line, like I have with almost every.other.pharmacy I've been to in the last 10 odd years. As far as the store itself, also two thumbs up. Always stocked well. We switched to this drugstore because 1) we were fed up with the lines, waiting and mistakes made by the drugstore on the other side of the freeway and 2) because it was new and offered us an alternate location to get our prescriptions. We thought we'd try it out. Regarding prescriptions, they've been pretty good. We don't stand in line forever for pickup, we get phone messages when our prescriptions are ready, and they have a VERY CONVENIENT drive-thru window which I utilize a LOT. There's a lady who works the pharmacy counter who recognizes me and no longer asks my name. And, she knows I'm checking for both myself and my husband, and she remembers to make sure my rewards points are added when I check out. VERY efficient and very cool. This must be what small-town living is like. You know... where everybody knows your name... :o) Ok, that was from Cheers, but you get my drift! Where I get a little irritated is inside. As another reviewer stated, it's pretty empty most of the time which is nice. There's no dodging people to get around the store. They're well-stocked with miscellaneous things (food too, but that's limited to a lot of generic and off brands, but it'll do in a pinch) and it's clean. There are a number of employees, and that's where I get irritated. I think because the store is mostly empty, some of these folks have grown accustomed to feeling like it's their house and they don't think about the fact customers are within hearing range and certain conversations between themselves should be kept between themselves and not bellowed across aisles to each other. And I do mean bellowed. There is not one time I've entered the store when someone isn't yelling out to someone else across the store. If you want to talk to that person, walk over to them, and hold a normal decibel level conversation for goodness sake. And, I know I've heard one complain about their job issues to another on more than one occasion. I don't want to hear that stuff! I don't want two clerks to be preoccupied talking to each other while I'm trying to check out. In general, the regular workers there seem to be attentive and will take care of the customer if they are ready. It seems to be the younger or more transient clerks who have no professional propriety. It's just irritating. Otherwise, I am very happy with this Walgreens. read more

Apparently, my office mates and people visiting the office are taking candy that I brought to celebrate the Halloween month of October. I only bought lollipops, tootsie rolls, and just simple candy. It has been only 4 days and the bag is almost empty. Time to get some more candy for the rest of the month. I went to McDonald's first, but I won't write a review about that. When I went to Jack in the Box yesterday, I noticed there was a Walgreen's next door. So, I decided to go here and eliminate my visit count for Castaic. The parking lot was pretty empty, but I am not sure if a lot of people know about this place. There is not much room for trucks, but there should be plenty for just regular cars/trucks. I walked in and saw so many Walgreen's employees, more than my home location. I was the only customer...I think...After I grabbed a basked, I headed straight to the candy section and accidentally bumped into a young girl. We said, "Hi". I got my chocolates and candy for the office. As I was about to check out, I realized that I forgot my wallet in the car. I was no where near the checkout lane and that girl I bumped into was willing to take my heavy basket to checkout. Sweet girl. She asked me how my day was...I said, "It was good". Now, I realized that I forgot to ask her. MY BAD. I bought $14.23 worth of chocolates and since I bought that much, I get extra coupons...and we laughed about that cause I kept thinking the printer was done printing, but it kept PRINTING AND PRINTING. She made my day even if it was only for a couple minutes. OK, I attract Sheriffs, Restaurant Employees, and now Drug Stores...lol. I think I am going to be a bachelor for awhile. Since the closing of rite aid and Ralph's, there is a lot more traffic here. They have hired more staff, and have great prices on beer. The store is clean and there is plenty of parking, due to a shared parking lot with the library. Visit in the morning, when there aren't as many people there. read more

Never had a problem here until today. I called and asked "Stephanie" a question in the pharmacy. She gave me the information I requested so I drove over to pick up my prescription. She then called me back once I had already drove over to advise me the information she gave me was incorrect and that I can sit and wait in my car for 15-20 mins while she figures out how to do her job. Please train the pharmacy staff properly so that when a question is asked- they know the proper answer- or if they don't- they place someone on hold before they speak out of ignorance. It has now been over 20 minutes since she called me back.... soooo how long should I continue to wait in the parking lot like I was told? read more

This Pharmacy is littered with the most incompetent people. They are so bad that they drive everything down with the location. I will say that every worker (outside of the pharmacy) is fantastic. The pharmacy is the one I WANT to work well, because it's close to home. They lie when they say a prescription is in stock, and then make you wait, only to tell you that there is nothing in stock. They fluster and falter, left and right, just to protect themselves, but everyone knows that they are completely incompetent. Go to WalMart or Ralphs instead of this place. This is the WORST PLACE to go for medicine. Every time we've come here, they've always had accuses for their lack of medication or timeliness. They cannot deliver on time, and they'll cover each other's tracks. They are the worst pharmacy in SC, and, yes,, that includes BOTH WALMARTS. read more

I stopped in this Walgreens to buy few items on my way back to L.A. from Fresno...it was 8:18pm and quite cold outside. The warm and inviting environment at this particular Walgreen branch was quite fuzzy and appealing to me and my boyfriend. We walked in and started to browse around. The sales associate called DANIEL kindly and smilingly approached us and offered his help. I thought his nice attitude and the energy in which he asked us was worth noting here. The Store overall was nicely stocked and organized. The sales brochure was in its place. The store was clean and the cashiers were in their place. Daniel offered us a lot of help. He let us smell lots of perfumes and explained to us about the current slaes promotion. I would recommend this store and especially this sales person without hesitation. ENJOY shopping here. I will continue coming here because Rite Aid closed all the stores closed. I love this place because the staff is always kind. I've only come across too grouchy looking workers but other than that they're always nice and willing to help me find something. There's is older lady with glasses and shorthair I keep forgetting her name and she knows me and My. Family . we look forward to saying hi to her whenever we go she always helps us out and gives us coupons for items that we have I don't know if all workers do that but I've had to employees do that for me which is awesome. I really wish I could remember her name because I would love to give her a little shout out here and if anybody goes look for her she's awesome and she's even helped me .....well tried to help me with some make up .she look like she knew nothing about but it was fun for her to help me match skin color in the make up isle. read more

I usually like Walgreens and go to the one on Newhall Ranch even though it is further from my house. The one on Sloan sucks. All the employees look like deer in head lights. They don't seem to know what they are doing and do not have a personality to be in retail serving people. Even a "Manager" was the same way and not too friendly. Avoid this pharmacy at all cost! This is only a review on the pharmacy. I tried to fill a prescription from my Lupus doctor for my joints, the pharmacist refused to fill it until she spoke with my doctor. She couldn't tell me a good reason why, so I had to wait hours in horrible pain. My medication is up to my doctor not the pharmacist. She really over stepped my boundaries. My doctor called me very confused why my pharmacist contacted him, I said I don't know, and had a very uncomfortable conversation. My mom also had a terrible experience trying to get her medication after dental surgery, they refused to fill it because someone with a similar name at another pharmacy was getting a similar medication. Turns out, it indeed was a different person altogether, but it took hours to clear up the confusion. I understand they are trying to be responsible, but they are doing things that shouldn't be allowed. My medical treatment is for my doctor to determine, not a stranger on a power trip.
