To review a big corporate entity like Walgreens, you must take into consideration that they are exactly that...Big corporate conglomerates who will bleed Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class dry and eat your firstborn child. Seriously, I'm not anti-capatailist or anything like that but if given the choice between Walgreens and Pop's Drug Store, I will go to Pop's every single time without hesitation...even if it's out of my way. With that being said, this particular Walgreens is really nice...at least nicer than 90% of the Walgreens I've visited and probably the nicest in all of south Florida. The place is always clean, well stocked and the customer service is above average for a business in the 305...especially in Aven-torture! My place, Pop's, doesn't stay open 24/7 so this Walgreens does come in handy for me at 3am sometimes. Tip: If you want to see some funny shiz'nit, you can only do this once a year. Every February 14th between the hours of 9pm - midnight, watch scores of douchebag men literally RUN into this store to buy their significant other a crappy Valentines Day gift, which obviously they had forgotten or else they wouldn't be getting it at Walgreens to begin with. I've shared many a laugh on that day and sit back and wonder if these poor significant others back at home realize just how cheap their man is! This pharmacy will try to tell you that there is no generic so you pay full price for brand. They also lie about insurance coverage and the prices fluctuated and doubled in one month. Never coming back. Do not bother trying to speak to someone at the pharmacy. They will put you on hold for over 30 minutes and then you will be disconnected again and again. Worst! Back a week later to fill my sons prescription : the person at the drive through told me: A) my insurance doesn't cover the medicine (concerta) B) there is no generic for concerta (not true) C) the price is $240 (paid $170 first month and last week they said $300 so didn't fill it- and today it was $240) After waiting 30plus minutes in drive through for them to look for the prescription so I could take it to another pharmacy, they could not locate it. When I said I left and called back, they told me that the prescription suddenly went through with my insurance, they found a generic and I would have to pay $65! Had I not left and asked for my prescription back, I would be out of pocket $240 and stuck paying brand price! No thank you Walgreens. They are always friendly and helpful Pharmacists has helped us with medication choices and even for us our flu shots for free in our insurance. There is a good selection and we're happy with the pharmacy. We've just moved all our meds there and no regrets. There is even a drive through to pick up meds and ample parking in the lot. This is the worst Walgreens EVER!!!! The Pharmacy is a total mess! Long lines, lost medications, un-knowledgable staff and management! They have a drive thru lane, that can take up to 45 mins! It's a drive thru! How hard can it be! You drive up, drop off or pickup a prescription! If there's a problem or issue, ask the customer to either go inside, or drive by later...... Shame on You Walgreens! Making us drive 1.5 hrs each way, during social distancing / quarantine, and they don't have the ADHD medication. They would not give us information about the meds. I love this particular Walgreens. It is very clean and easy to shop. People are nice and it makes you feel comfortable shopping there. BUT, and here comes the ugly part. The PHARMACY is probably the worst I have seen! I have been shopping at the pharmacy for more than 5 years now, and my average waiting time is over 20 minutes. They never get things right, they make you wait, they are lazy and they make many mistakes with your prescription. Again, the bad review is for the Pharmacy only. The pharmacy is such a pain to deal with. They will screw up the copays, invariably, then deny it; sometimes they tell me my family does not have insurance at all while I'm holding the health insurance card in their face; they misspell my kids' names then claim they are not insured; sometimes, there is just bad attitude. Yadyadayada. It's really annoying when you (or your kids) are sick and you need prescription relief. I only go if Publix's pharmacy is closed (they have short hours). This is the funniest Walgreens I have ever been to, even exceeding the one at Young Circle. If you wan't to see examples of the full range of mental illnesses involving narcissism, I can't think of a better place to do so. After all, this is Dennis Rodman's Walgreens of choice, and you will often spot him here at 3 in the morning buying ice and proudly exclaiming "I'm Dennis Rodman" while starting problems with the already-frictional Miami population. Oh, and this Walgreens is better stocked then the one by Aventura Blvd if you came looking to buy something, and I guess the staff is OK for South Florida, if sometimes a little spaced out. read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would, if you ask for help finding something they look at you rude, no how can I help nothing, no words and looking at you like you are a alien, then answer no we don't have one of those, two min later I found a huge display of alarm clocks in the front of the store. Buyer BEWARE! I purchased a $100 Visa gift card in October 2019 from this Walgreens and was scammed! A copy of another barcode had been placed over the actual barcode on the gift card. Therefore, when I paid $5.95 to activate the card, it activated it for the person who had the card matching the copy which was placed over the gift card I purchased. I filed the complaint in October and I have spoken to the Corporate office and have written a few emails concerning this. I went back to this store in December 2019 and spoke with the store manager Alex Carvajal. I provided him pictures supporting the scam and it was very clear to EVERYONE that this is occurring because when I visited the store that day there were signs that were posted to bring awareness. However, as of TODAY February 19 , 2020, I have not been offered a refund or a replacement. The most that I have been offered is store credit which cannot be used for the purchase of a gift card. I feel like I have been given the runaround which is unacceptable! The onus should be on the store/cashier to validate that the barcode on the back of the card matches the packaging of the card when they are charging you the activation fee. read more

On more than three occasions now, I've found myself parked in line at the drive thru pharmacy for over 35 minutes, with maybe a whole 3-4 cars ahead of me. Ridiculous. Frustrating. Went to pick up my 2-year old daughter's prescription today and the pharmacy tech told me that the insurance would not cover 400mg for a 2 year old with out Doctor authorization. I then stepped out of the line and called the pedi. I explained to the pedi what the pharmacy tech was saying and she said that she ordered the prescription for 250mg not 400mg!! The pharmacy completely got the prescription dosage wrong. Good thing my insurance caught this and would not cover it for a 2 year old. Can you imagine my daughter would have been receiving almost double the dosage the doctor prescribed due to the carelessness of the pharmacy!? This is completely unacceptable... The wait in the pharmacy line can be maddening. I thought there would be less of a wait on a Saturday evening. Wrong! There were eight people in line and only one clerk! Rather than only allowing pharmacy sales in the pharmacy, they allow people to check with their ENTIRE shopping basket, which creates tremendous bottlenecks because the pharmacy is so understaffed. If Walgreens wants to offer full service for customers to check out everything in the pharmacy, then they need to be staffed for it, which is hard to do because they only have three check-out windows in the pharmacy. Basically this is your typical Walgreens, but with way more lines and people. I've been a couple times lately when I was sick/had the flu. This is definitely not the place to go to, if you want a quick in and out trip when feeling gross. The lines were long in both the pharmacy and the check-out. I actually tried to go to the pharmacy to pick-up sudafed since it is not on the floor for sale, but gave up after 20 minutes in line. Luckily I found an alternative item that worked just as well. This store is well organized and clean, just the only downfall is the lines. Each time I've been it has taken about 15 minutes to actually get through the line at the check-out due to so many people. read more

Ok i saw the reviews and had to provide a little hope. I live a block away so the convenience factor is enormous. Its open 24 hours which is a plus. Understaffed is very accurate but the staff they do have are very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable on different product recommendations. The prices are ridiculous but just sign up for a Walgreens card and you're fine. For example, i got the $9 tide cold water detergent for $5. I got $5 halls for $2... Trust me, don't come here to get a lot of stuff, just one item every now and then when the regular grocery stores are a hassle due to traffic or distance... Who wants to cross town for a gallon of milk? Who wants to wait in a long line for a box of cereal? Who wants to drive in Aventura's all day rush hour for a bag of chips? A very bad pharmacy service. They have a system to refill your prescription by phone so you will have it ready when you show up for pick up. It does not work. I stayed out of one prescription for 2 month as they told me it could not be refilled. After looking up closer to my papers from the hospital, I argued that it was refillable. So they did refill it . (2 month without the medication)... Just stay on line and be patient; Someone with a shopping cart full of grocery maybe in front of you. I travel to the so called third world countries.. Worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with! I had a prescription called in from my Dr. and I waited 2 days and then called to find out if it was ready. They claimed they never received the fax from my Dr. I then called my Dr. and they called the pharmacy and whoever they spoke with said, yes we did receive it and I don't know who told you we didn't have it. My Dr. called me back and said yes they have the prescription and will be getting it ready. I then waited 2 more days again and still no call and I consequently still have not received to this day and ended up taking my prescription to another pharmacy. I ordered my medicine, I was told that it will be ready in 1h, I said that I can`t wait for 1h. They told me to come back tomorrow,anytime. I came back to pick it up,it was not ready. The pharmacist (a Latin-American lady) told me that they just got a new delivery and it will be ready in 1h. I waited for 1h, then she told me that my medicine was not delivered and it will be delivered tomorrow after 1 P.M. I said that I`m not coming back to this store and I want my prescription back,she refused to give it back to me. Then,I asked to speak with a manager,she pointed one of her coworkers as the manager. I waited to speak with her and the lady told me that she`s not the manager and actually called the real manager - Joseph. I explained to him everything and he gave me back my prescription right away. I got robbed at their parking lot! I was in and out and in 10 minutes someone Broke my car window and stole a bag I had left there. Yes I should have not left anything but it's scary to think that thieves hang in there all day because it happened so fast!, I thought Aventura was safe especially in a corner with lots of people walking by. Giving this place 1 star is generous. Walgreens in general is over priced and this one is no different. Their pharmacy is the worst of any that I have been to. If you are in line in the store to pick up a rx u are 10 people deep at all times. If you go to the drive through its the same thing only u will butn a half a tank of gas while the person in front of you is taking out a loan or just staring at an empty window for atleast 20 minutes. Yes 20 minutes I have timed it. My advice is to go to CVS it is much faster and I have yet to wait either in the store or at the window for more than 5 minutes. read more
