They are worth the wait (booked 2-3 months out) Long version: We had water damage in our kitchen. We needed the damaged floor replaced and the rest of the first floor sanded and stained to match. No easy task since our floor was 17 years old. After they sanded, stained, and sealed the floor, we realized that the original builder (17 years ago) put a 2 foot by 10 foot strip of pink looking red oak in the middle of the white oak floorboards in the living room. This was imposible to see because of the tinted stain that was put on the floor to cover up the fact that the wood didn't match. Jon, our sales guy, came out on a Saturday to talk it over with us. They worked with us to squeeze us into their schedule despite being booked 3 months out. He even came and tore out the red oak himself since all of the other workers were tied up. They took out the red oak and put new white oak back in and now you can't tell at all. Honestly, I thought we were screwed. We did have to pay for them to come back to do it since it wasn't their screw up.

Sorry it's taken so long to write and thank you for our wonderful Midwest Rock Tops counter tops. We had them installed about a year ago and love it! The counter still looks as great as the day it was installed it. We were trying to do an economical remodel of our smallish kitchen and our counter top space was a little longer than the standard one-piece granite slab. We really didn't want a seam and then we stumbled upon Midwest Rock Tops. Brian was able to find a slab long enough which worked perfectly. When he came out to measure our kitchen he suggested used some pieces to make a matching top to a new half wall entering the kitchen and a shelf below the window which we would have never thought about. I needed to replace an exterior frost-proof faucet that was leaking badly. The original faucet was…read moresoldered into place, so the repair was beyond my wrenching abilities. He cut out the old faucet, and "sweated" the copper pipes (new plumbing term I learned) to install the new faucet very quickly, and he cleaned up after himself (though there wasn't much of a mess to begin with). While he was in my basement working on the plumbing, I mentioned that I had a bad light switch/socket. He was happy to take a quick look and diagnose the problem. We had them install tile on the ceiling of our shower which came with a $500 "upcharge." When we…read morepointed out how poorly it was done they offered to fix it, which couldn't be accomplished without tearing it down and starting over. The entire project was to take 4 weeks and they were here for almost 5 months and just wanted to wrap things up. They also installed the tile in our back entry butting up to the wood floors, we told them how the door was going to be installed and the tile/wood was still installed incorrectly with the seam of the two showing when you close the door. The final straw was we needed to have 3 - 12x24 tiles replaced in our shower from an issue with our plumber, the quote from Melissa was $1200. When asked about the price we received the response, "Based on our experience in working insurance claim projects, what we have bid is easily within the bounds of what would be covered, so the plumber should have no problems with the claim." The $1200 was just for the removal/replacement of the 3 tiles and didn't include the tile that was needed. At that point we called it quits. The photos attached are of showers that have never been used, this is the final product.

Steve and Woody provided us with friendly professional and well educated service from design to installation of two full bathrooms with tile walls and small format hexagon mosaic floors, including a curbless shower. They provided us the technical details we needed to make sure that everything was framed in correctly, and Steve came out to the site to inspect everything before scheduling the installer to do the work to make sure there would be no surprises. (And it was a good thing he did too, because we has to square up some walls and add some additional framing studs for the shower.) Woody was extremely helpful and patient in guiding our selection of tiles and grout, and they were willing to work with us on including tiles from a local tile manufacturer rather than their regular supply chain. Woody's professional training and sense for the customer's particular esthetic are outstanding! After we discovered that a few of the small mosaic tiles had cracked in them from a manufacturing defect, that got the installer out to replace them quickly and with no grief. Although I had Moloney Tile install the technically difficult bathroom tiles, I am doing several more artsy tile projects in the house on my own, and they had been willing and able to provide me with advice and specialty materials on those as well.

Ever since we've added a four season porch, addition, a sauna and bathroom, several tile platforms next to outside access doors. We are now creating a master bedroom with attached bathroom. Every time we have a tiling project we buy through Molony. We plan to contract with them this time to complete the project rather tgan do it ourselves as we are older. I'm convinced they will do a professional job.

Kitchen & Bath LLC are incompetent plumbers, poor project planners, and OK bathroom tilers…read more Plumbing problems started during the planning phase, when they told me the sink did not need a an overflow, but I didn't think that was right, so I ordered one with an overflow. Thankfully I was correct, since the sink that they sell does have an overflow. I imagine other customers may have had big problems with the overflow after following their bad advice. I had to purchase the bath tub and bath fixtures. We had asbestos glue under the tile and a tub coated with lead, so I had an abatement company due the demo since Kitchen & Bath did not seem to have the expertise to do it. They claimed they could do it, but did not provide any licensing IDs for asbestos and lead removal. These additional costs are not included in the services provided by Kitchen & Bath and reviewed here. On the other hand, I removed the old plastic tub/shower wall cover and installed the mirror and light by myself. After the demo occurred, it was obvious that the plywood floor needed to be replaced. Alberto argued that they could install new plywood on top, but I disagreed. Mold and rot were a big problem, so I wanted it replaced. He delayed the project by 1 week because he was going on vacation and didn't trust his workers to take the floor out correctly without him around. No one from the company arrived at the time they said they would (early the first day, always late after). I work from home, and there was one day where I told them I had an appointment at 10:30, so they needed to show up before 10:30. They arrived at 10:30, when I was walking into the doctor's office. When I called the project lead (and owner) Alberto back after my appointment, he was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. The tiling install guy was late by a few hours and worked until after 8 pm. I have 2 kids and I could not get them ready for bed while this guy was working. The drywall and paint guy always showed up several hours late and could never arrive at a specified time. One day the guys showed up to work for an hour and then left for the day. The project should have taken 9 days but took two weeks because of these late starts and poorly planned work days. There are several small defects that a good contractor would have fixed or avoided, like scraped paint or chipped cabinet surface. These were minor. Every plumbing fixture leaked after the install was complete: the shower, sink handles, and toilet, in that order. I had my own plumber fix it due to Kitchen & Bath's continued incompetence in this area, costing over $250. I am very angry that we decided to remodel the bathroom due to lead and water damage, only to have them improperly install the plumbing, potentially causing water damage. I forgot to get the certificate of insurance before starting the project, and when I asked for it after, they never responded. My insurance agent also asked for it, and they never responded. Now there's a BBB complaint, with still no resolution. I just want the insurance certificate. So if anyone is going to hire them to do anything, only let them do tiling. Hire your own plumber. And if you can, set a daily schedule in the contract.
