We worked with Nonn's on a large home project involving flooring, tile, and appliances. When service issues arose, the experience was far below what we expected from a company handling a project of this scope. Our range broke immediately and was unusable for weeks. We also had a separate dishwasher issue that required months of follow-up before ultimately failing and needing faulty parts replaced. Communication throughout the process was slow, inconsistent, and often required repeated effort from us just to receive basic updates. Although repairs were eventually completed and a partial credit was issued, Nonn's declined to provide any further accommodation despite the prolonged disruption and clear service breakdowns. The response from leadership made it clear that customer experience was not a priority once problems occurred. We made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this privately. Based on how these issues were handled, we would not choose to work with Nonn's again and would encourage others to carefully consider their options before committing to a significant project. read more

I had new countertops installed in my kitchen and when they installed them they put a 7 inch dent in the side of my 3 day old refrigerator. They did not tell me they did this all they did was move a calendar we had put up with a magnet over the dent. it took getting a hold of the Waukesha Mgr. to try to get this situation fixed. After three weeks they brought a new refrigerator replacement but it had a bigger dent in it than the original. I finally made a deal with them to make a credit on my credit card and am just keeping the dented original refrigerator. I guess the worst part is that they damaged the fridge and tried to cover it up without telling me. My question is can you trust a company after they do something like this? read more

Had laminate flooring put in. problems immediately with leveling of floor and thresholds not secured. Was told the lumps and depressions in the flooring were to be expected with a "floating floor." Huh, I thought floors were suppose to be flat? Now a year plus later the boards are pulling apart and the area around the toilet is not supported. I've called and either got sent to other phone numbers with no callback or sent to an installer that had nothing to do with the project. Still waiting for the sales person to call me back (Kathy) but not holding my breath. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. I thought I was going with a reputable company. I just filed a complaint with the Better Busness Bureau. I'd hate to see others treated with a run around this way. read more

The sales person that worked with me seemed pretty lethargic. She couldn't answer my questions about some different types of carpet. She didn't recognize me when I came again. We had our home measured and I didn't hear back for a week. I called and she said she had computer issues(!). She got the estimate to me in a day or so, it was extremely high and in one lump sum. I asked her to break it down by labor, materials etc. This was almost two weeks ago. Radio silence. I hope I didn't make her cry. Coyle has lost thousands of dollars of business from us because of her. read more

I ordered only 60 sq feet of tile to do a backsplash in my kitchen. I pick the tile from the show room and I specifically asked because it's not returnable if it would match the color that I'm looking at in the showroom, it was completely different. Instead of almost black with slight variations of dark blue It was more blue and much lighter. I didn't take delivery. I left it there so the sales girl could take it up with their owner because it's not returnable she says. Interesting though she looked at my wife and I said color is close enough for it to be acceptable and not returnable. My wife and I were in shock. We waited a couple of days and a couple of more days and never heard from them. Called over there and they didn't return the call. So I contacted my credit card company and within a day I got notice from the sales person that it had been canceled. There are plenty of show rooms in Madison, because really that's all they really are. They have to order everything in. In fact, I find their show room was outdated because most of the things that were they were showing were unavailable. Too bad because of this hiccup in their management I have to leave this feedback. read more

I agree with other reviewers, this is not the place to purchase tile. It took months for the installation, and communication was all one sided - the only time I heard anything from Nonn's was after I called them. To add insult to injury, we ordered 12 x 24 tile for our bathroom, and found out on the day of installation that the only tile available was 13 x 13 which they substituted without our knowledge. Considering that the time from ordering until installation was three months, I think that they had time to communicate this to us. On the plus side, the quartz and backsplash installation in the kitchen was excellent. read more

The granite counter top they installed had several chips in it. When I called them on it, they sent out an "EXPERT" in granite supposedly from Spain or Italy that applied a liquid epoxy and than lit it with a match that was suppose to help seal and fill in the chipped spots. It was obvious that this did not work and the "EXPERT" said that it was all he could do. Thinking back now, I wish I would have requested the total job be replaced. I do not recommend this company for their service and quality of product. read more

The quartz counter top that they installed is towards the dull side in terms of shine; I don't even know if Quartz is what they put in. We paid extra to have alot of veining running through the white quartz, and you can just barely see any. Then the Installers chipped the quartz around the sink. The Representative in the Sales Department we found out new very little about what she sold us. Nonn's attitude was "to bad so sad", they could have cared less how bad it looks, and how unhappy we are with their product we wasted over $4000.00, and now we are stuck with it. Always educate yourself about what you are buying, and mostly the company you are dealing with. We have nothing good at all to say about Nonn's!!! read more

Now I'm rating the service I received at Nonn's. Maybe I just worked with the wrong person on this particular sale, but I will say that generally everyone who works here is quite to-themselves. They don't smile much or look up from their computers to see if customers need anything. I ordered one 12"x12" sample and was told it would be available for pickup between 7-10 business days. I was also not given a receipt, and didn't think to ask for one since I haven't been through this process and didn't know what to expect. 23 days passed until I received the call saying the sample came in. Just picked up the sample and it's the wrong thing... I haven't called them yet to say it's wrong, so we'll see how they handle this issue. read more

WATCH OUT for this company!!! They do not take care of their customers!! We purchased an expensive wood floor back in 2016. We reported issues in the first year and we were given a stain pen to fix it. Now, 4 years later, the problem has gotten worse. They have sent techs out to look at it and every one has agreed the floor has a defect. Now, they just called and said, we are not willing to help you and your on your own. BEWARE and I would recommend you do not use this company if you want any sort of customer service. read more

My husband and I recently bought a ranch just outside Madison, even though we live in NYC. Visited Nonn's in October following a referral from our SIL since we aren't local. They have a lovely showroom, no one offered to help us, we had to practically beg for assistance. We waited until a designer was available and when we finally met her, she seemed attentive to our needs. Unfortunately, that's where the customer service stops. We waited nearly 2 weeks for our first quote for a quartz countertop and had asked one question in response, no response from them, then had to follow up just to get a response that she missed our original email and would be back shortly. Radio silence ever since its now been over a month. If this is how they treat potential customers, I'd say it's a good indication of how we would be treated as actual customer. Thanks but no thanks. Since I decided that Nonn's wasn't the business for us to worked with, I requested a quote from a competitor, and guess what? The quote was 40% less and more importantly, they communicate, unlike the treatment we received from Nonn's. read more

I would have to agree with previous poster. This is NOT the place to go. Very snotty and terrible customer service. We had a very bad experience with their installer that they've had for a decade. Extremely sloppy work, and caused plumbing damage and wire damage from counter install. Sales person who carries the Nonn name was very very unprofessional handling the damage situation. escalated it to higher management, and then director before resolution. Also when you visit their store no one greets or helps out, they basically just ignore you. Go elsewhere, not worth the hassel because they are impossible and arrogant to work with. read more

Stopped by Nonns Deforest showroom on a Tuesday, sales associate, KathY, helped and we took home a a couple samples, I called her phone extension that afternoon and said we like to schedule measuring. Well Monday of the next week we still hadn't heard from her. So Monday we went to return the samples. Kathy asked if we were ready to schedule a measuring, I said to her that I had left her a message the previous Tuesday afternoon. She looked stunned, never answered. So we scheduled a measuring the soonest was a week later, the guy came , measured and said we would hear from Kathy, well after another 1 1/2 weeks, I left a review on their website, 8 hrs later I get the proposal. My wife and I are elderly and have back issues so we had asked for them to move furniture. The proposal shows $700.00 per room. Bedroom with a queen size bed and small dresser $700.00 to remove and move back in, wow they must be absolutely nuts. We went with someone else they only charged $35.00 per room to relocate and move back furniture. That's a fact jack , no BS read more

They messed up scheduling, failed to return phone calls, failed to resolve their mistakes. You basically have to beg for their attention. Trust me, don't waste your time. Over the last 8 years, I have provided Nonn's with business on 4 different projects (residential and commercial) so I write this review with great regret. With each project the workmanship of their installers has deteriorated to the point where I will never use them again, even their service managers have become grumpy and lazy. Their showroom is gorgeous and their decorators are talented. I would use them for selection choices, purchase the material from them (although somewhat expensive) and then find an installer on your own, however such a maneuver might cause warranty issues. Perhaps the most prudent action is to find a better company who can see your project from beginning to the end to your satisfaction. read more

Never. I built (2) homes with this company and I should have learned my lesson the first time but that's my mistake -- don't make the same mistake I made! The customer service at Nonn's is absolutely horrific; not only did it take months to get a replacement part but when they finally did come out, the service team was incredibly unprofessional and rude. NO ONE looks up from her computer to greet you, when they do they give you the stink eye for coming in and bothering them. Looked at granite and had to pull info out of them. Same thing happened a year ago when looking at granite for another project. DO NOT go there, they act like it is an imposition to help you. Never again! The Granite Shop of Madison had friendly, helpful sales people, lots of samples and remnant slabs. We were able to get a remnant for our bathroom for 1/2 the price given at other shops. They came out fast to measure, installed within our timeline with our tile guy remodeling our bathroom. read more

I would not recommend Nonn's. We purchased our carpet with them simply because that is who our builder had used. We set up the appt. and paid in full for the carpet. On Friday they emailed asking if we could move the appt. from Monday morning to between 12-2 on Monday afternoon. We said sure and again moved around our schedules. I took the time off work and we had the furniture delivery set up for this week as well. I waited from 12 until 3 and no one had shown up. My husband called and talked to our sales person Nicole who stated she would look into it. No call back still at 4pm so I called and asked for Stephanie the person who schedules appts. I was told she had left for the day. I then asked for Nicole and was told she was there but was working on it. I finally received a call back from Nicole shortly after 4:20 stating that the installers were behind and no one had called. She asked if i still wanted it installed and i stated yes because we had furniture coming. The installers showed up at 5:30 and worked until 8. I will say the two guys installing did a wonderful job and very professional the carpet looks great. The customer service was however not acceptable. I understand mistakes happen but my call should have been taken and having someone apologize and offer money back or a nicer attitude would have gone a long way. I waiting from 12-3 and that is time and money i cannot get back. Picking up the phone and saying yes we made a mistake and we are sorry what can we do to help would of made a huge difference in this situation and this says a lot about a company and their teams commitment to customers and service. read more

Visited Nonns on the recommendation of the company who is installing our 4-seasons room for flooring. So far, our experience has been very good. The floor and phone staff have all been friendly and courteous and Nicole, who worked with us to choose flooring was knowledgeable and helpful. She questioned us on our ideas on color, style, and pricing and then gave us a variety of options to choose from. Her estimate was provided in a timely manner. If the installation proceeds as smoothly as things have gone so far, we will be very pleased with our experience with this company. read more

I have been a Nonn's customer for many years however no more. Had a 16ft x 32ft family room carpeted by Nonn's. A total disaster. Seam still can be seen the length of the floor after Nonn's tried to make it right but failed to fix and basically told "live with it and it will go away in a year" NOT! The carpet also snags and loops have to be cut off. Spent thousands of dollars with Nonn's for product with no backing of the product. read more

I would not recommend Nonn's. Our builder required us to use them for the kitchen design/cabinets. I left the first meeting and sat in the parking lot crying because I knew I was not going to get my dream kitchen. Michele was our "designer" but all she did was "say can't do that" or "that's a problem." She had no patience or interest in coming up with solutions. We even asked if we could use someone else but couldn't. The cabinets have been installed and we are not happy. We tried to work with Nonn's to resolve the issues but Tim Potter, Store Manager replied to my email with short, curt defenses and offered no resolution. Basically "suck it up." I would be willing to share the email if anyone wants. After I received the email I called the actual cabinet manufacturer to try and see what options they have in their line that we might be able to fix the problems. After that phone call I knew my instincts for crying were correct. Michelle lied over and over. 1. She said they didn't make a 12" corner cabinet. They do. 2. She said I had to have a lazy susan on the top and bottom of a corner cabinet. She said that's how the cabinet is made. It doesn't. They make it empty and you can add on 1 or 2. So I not only got something I didn't want but I paid for it. Now I will have to have hole in the middle of the lower cabinet if I take it out like Time suggested. 3. Same with another cabinet. They were large pot drawers and I wanted one hidden lid drawer in the upper drawer. It was what I had in my last kitchen. She said it came standard with one in each drawer. Nope. Not true. It comes empty and you can add in 1 or 2. So again, I paid for something I didn't want. When I started telling the cabinet maker about how there were these 3" fillers everywhere he asked why, he said you try to avoid that at all costs. He provided me the name of designer who sells their cabinets and suggested I meet with him to see what can be. The other designer (at another company) not only confirmed everything in my discussion with the cabinet maker but when I showed him some pictures of a particular cabinet set and asked why the doors were so far apart he said that I didn't get what I paid for which is why it looks like that. I did my last 2 kitchens through Lowe's and had wonderful experiences. There are many many other places that will provide quality work AND a good customer experience. Nonn's does not. read more

I was very disappointed with the service at Nonn's. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was not "welcomed at the entrance" by a designer as is advertised on their website. When I tracked someone down looking for help, the sales representative seemed put out. When I mentioned that I was looking for something other than granite (meaning quartz, quartzite or soapstone), she sneered and asked me if I was looking for laminate as if it was beneath her to show me those samples (which they do carry). I did wander on my own and found some samples that I was interested but when I asked how the tier system equated to $/sq ft she was incredibly cagey and told me they have to "get a bid" on everything before they can give a price. Eventually she gave me a wide range for the whole shop but not for the specific product. I had a form with me that included measurements and the layout of my kitchen and asked if she could get me a bid on a quartz sample and the soapstone. When I asked to take a sample home first told me the soapstone was out and who knew when it would be back but she allowed me to take the quartz sample only with a large deposit and the promise that I would return it on the following Monday. I finally got my bid by e-mail more than 2 weeks after I visited the shop and only received a bid for the quartz. I emailed back asking for the soapstone bid I got no reply at all. I look young (but am in my 30's and on the faculty at UW-SMPH). Perhaps she thought I wasn't a serious buyer? This was the first local granite/stone establishment I visited in the area so I didn't realize how bad their service was until I visited Granite Werks and the Granite Shop of Madison. Both had better quality stone and store rooms with a large selection of slabs. Both provided me with a quote on the day of my visit or w/in 24hrs, and both were completely open about price/sq ft on the day of my visit. I asked GSOM to price both soapstone and a quarzite piece (that was listed in the top tier at Nonn's) and both bids were significantly lower than Nonn's. I have purchased beautiful soapstone from the Granite Shop and am looking forward to getting my new counters. The Granite Shop of Madison owners and staff are professional, open and honest, and have been a pleasure to work with. They came out and made templates the day after I placed the order and will have my stone installed in 2 weeks. I'm going to write them a review after the install, but their service is night and day compared to Nonn's. Bottom line: Don't waste your time with Nonn's. read more

I'm looking at reviews for flooring places and decided to check out what Yelpers had to say about Nonn's, because my impression 7-8 years ago was not favorable. Interestingly enough, my experience shopping there is exactly as people are describing: uninterested staff and, when you do ask questions, they're snotty. Like I said, 7-8 years ago I was looking to replace my entire first floor (920 sq. ft.) with hardwood. I went in there looking for samples and was never acknowledged, even when I walked by the two employees who were chatting with each other. I finally asked a few questions and received such chilly and condescending responses that I left and spent my $$ elsewhere (about $13K). It was such an odd experience that - to this day - I remember every time I drive past the place. Now that I need to replace the carpet on the second floor, I'd be hard pressed to give Nonn's a second chance. I might stop by, though, and see if customer service has improved ... read more

We purchased carpeting in July of 2014 and it was a total disaster from the time the installers set foot in our house. You could tell from the start that they were in a hurry and the finished results were proof. You could see ALL the seams and the doors wouldn't close from the metal strips that were installed. We called Nonn's to show them what a terrible job had been done with the seams and the door strips. They came out and fixed the metal door strips by hammering (yes with a metal hammer) the door strips until the doors closed. They were dented and looked horrible! They did try to re-seam the carpet but it made it look worst. After going round and round with them about the job we could see we weren't going to get anywhere with them so we opted to just let it be. We decided we just couldn't take anymore BS from them and dropped the whole thing. We would NEVER recommend them to anyone. WORST experience ever! read more
