CREATE, PURCHASE OR FRAME?…read more This is a cute little art studio, gallery and framing shop on the square. Naturally, the owner has his own art on display throughout the store which really complicated matters since he did not want his art photographed and I wanted to capture the inside of the building.. I tend to ask permission before I start clicking because artists are afraid of having their art copied. Anyway the problem was that I could not get a complete picture of the inside of this gallery which was in a very cool historic structure. No problem. If you are looking for art classes, the owner provides one-on-one instruction to assist you in tapping into your inner talent. After you have completed your art you can then have it custom framed right at the shop. I have to say that the selection of frames seemed a bit limited and that he primarily carries simple wooden frames in varies stains and hues. If you want it simple and understated, you can find something here but if you want something unique, you may have to look elsewhere. Finally, this is a great place to snag souvenir tees (in color or black and white), at a great price.

On my most recent trip, I came in looking for nightstands. One associate smiled and acknowledged me, but no one offered assistance. A couple walked in shortly after, and a salesperson immediately approached them while completely bypassing me. This was almost identical to my previous visit, where I was only asked if I needed help as I was walking out the door. I don't expect constant attention, but a luxury-focused store should at least offer consistent, basic customer service to all customers. It's hard not to feel like assumptions were being made about who was worth assisting. I'm sharing this so management is aware, because every customer deserves to feel welcome--not overlooked.
