Naturally, the owner has his own art on display throughout the store which really complicated matters since he did not want his art photographed and I wanted to capture the inside of the building.. I tend to ask permission before I start clicking because artists are afraid of having their art copied. Anyway the problem was that I could not get a complete picture of the inside of this gallery which was in a very cool historic structure. No problem. If you are looking for art classes, the owner provides one-on-one instruction to assist you in tapping into your inner talent. After you have completed your art you can then have it custom framed right at the shop. I have to say that the selection of frames seemed a bit limited and that he primarily carries simple wooden frames in varies stains and hues. If you want it simple and understated, you can find something here but if you want something unique, you may have to look elsewhere. Finally, this is a great place to snag souvenir tees (in color or black and white), at a great price.

The art on display is always excellent and the gallery space is large. All art mediums, 2-D and 3-D, are available. Most is for sale at reasonable prices if you have a blank space in your home that needs a conversation piece. The Director, Peggy Cline, and her staff are hospitable and helpful. Rockmart is an easy drive from Atlanta, Marietta, Cartersville, and Birmingham. Put this on your list of places to visit.

The gallery features several local artists, one of my new favorites being Steven Lester. I have found at least four of his paintings that I really love! It just feels "hometown" to me each time I come in. The owners are incredibly gracious and welcoming! Very knowledgeable about the artists represented there. I couldn't recommend visiting this gallery more! Must see!

The long-awaited Arts Center in downtown Alpharetta is open now in the building formerly occupied…read moreby the Alpharetta Library. A new library was built three years ago at 10 Park Plaza. The new Arts Center has already had two exhibits of art - a Community of Artists show at the end of 2018 and recently a show by JOEKINGATL otherwise known as Joe Dreher. They have been offering a good assortment of classes in painting and drawing and ceramics. More classes will be coming soon. Summer Camps will also be offered.

Amanda and the other person there (I wish I could remember her name) were able to find frames they had in their inventory to fit the pictures, and allowed me to come by to pick up the pictures after hours on the same day (they would not have been open the next day, when I needed the pictures).
