Growing up, I went to this place quite often, but it's changed a lot. The owners have changed…read moremultiple times within the last few years and the new owner is quite unprofessional and quite rude to say the least. I overheard him speaking to one of the favorite and well known skate instructors with a nasty tone. During this same visit he got snappy with me as well. MUST'VE WOKE UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED. I heard many complaints about how he runs out on the rink floor policing in an aggressive manner. He also has passed this behavior on to his Saturday afternoon skate guard. Customer service everything these days. Skating is supposed to be a therapeutic and safe place. I've tried many times over the last few months to visit this place but I do believe this is my last visit. I'd rather drive to Laurel and be treated with respect.

This was our first time going to this rink. We've been to many indoor skating rinks, and they allow…read moreboth inline and quad skating, but this rink does not allow inline skating! Before we came, I sent messages via their web site asking for rules and whether inline skating was allowed (just to be sure) and they never replied. We drove all the way down to find that they do not allow inline skating. The guy in the front desk was pretty snobby. He did offer a small room for inline skating and we accepted but we had to pay a full 10 dollars to skate around a small room instead of a full regular size rink and I didn't think it was fair.

Luckily we were able to get a skating helper stand for her, but I feel like there needs to be more of them. Reasonably priced for a two hour block of skating. Pay for parking is right across S Joyce St. you can go skate, and then go eat and Nighthawk Brewery and get 10% off with your skating ticket.

In all seriousness, it's a decent-sized skating rink with cute snowflake lighting above and nice surrounding shops and eateries, such as TJ Maxx, DSW, and Basic Burger. Actually, it's on the smaller end, but I think there's a limit to the number of people that can be out there at once, since we were given stickers to display while we were in the ice, and these stickers had a time at which our reservation expired (I think). My bros, my bro's gf, and I had a blast going 'round and 'round, initially holding onto the rails (at least my bro's gf and I had to), before acclimating and being able to skate closer to the middle of the rink. We made reservations on the phone about a day prior, and were tended to and able to get our skates immediately when we got there. They have these standing training wheels that you can skate with (some look like penguins). I don't really know how to describe them or what to call them besides that. Anyway, my bro's gf was more gradual with gaining her balance on the ice, and she thought it was unfair that only little kids were allowed to be able to use these training equipment. I noted a few skate guards on the ice; good to know there are individuals out there presumably to ensure skaters' safe leisure. After skating for about an hour or so, we enjoyed some hot chocolate and ice cream (never too cold!) at Mimi's ice cream parlor just outside the rink.

Took my kids to rollerskate for the 4:30 to 6:30 PM session to blow off some steam before dinner…read more Terrible rink, doesn't seem family friendly, walked into lord knows what trying to take my 4 year old to pee (weed smoke, a woman dressed for a much more adult experience at 5:30pm).... I turned around and walked right out of there without investigating further. The vibes were off in that bathroom, I can tell you that much. They seemed alarmed that I was trying to come in there at all let alone with a four-year-old, even though the bathroom was a public bathroom.... I don't know how this place can call itself a roller skating rink with that horrible floor. The skates were plastic and awful. I really feel ripped off and extremely disappointed. The chairs were disgusting. I washed all of our clothes and coats as soon as we got home. I will never be returning. Such wasted money. In addition there was a DJ playing music and it was so loud. My kids were extremely overstimulated and just yelling by the time we left, then complained of headaches on the car ride home.

Honestly, it's a good spot to host anything from a friend's hangout to a large party. However, I have qualms about coming here again. The work event was a pickleball tournament. Although the space itself is clean, it gets so hot indoors - regardless what activity that you do. Furthermore, we got food catered, and it wasn't the best quality. Although you don't come here for food and drinks, I would recommend other places for that. If you can deal with the heat indoors and want to do a fun activity in DC, I would recommend going here.
