Glad that we visited this wonderful spot near Annapolis, as it was comforting and beautiful, a popular place to enjoy outdoor beauty and the Chesapeake Bay! Numerous trails and options throughout, and the park is open from 7 AM until dusk. Among the options are a dog park, art galleries, playgrounds, kayak rentals, ice skating, and picnic areas. I did not get to the Visitors Center, as it closed at 4 PM. We visited the South River Overlook Trail, which was four-tenths of a mile in length, and had benches at the water to fully enjoy and appreciate the spectacular views. There are six other trails, ranging to as much as a mile and one-half in length. An $8 entry fee for automobiles, additional for larger vehicles, and they also offer lifetime senior passes. read more

It was easy to find, basically just drive to the end (however Google maps took us there w no issues!) Always a nice vibe at Quiet Waters Park. There's a little to do for everyone...walking trails, bike trails, playgrounds, reflection ponds, fishing and even a dog beach where life really comes at you fast. If you come with a mission and a plan the $6 entry fee means very little to you. Ample bathrooms and trash cans. I'd bring the entire fam and a few picnic items and enjoy the weather. Quiet waters is fantastic if you live in the area. There is no entry fee if you walk or bike in, which I enjoy for long runs and bike days. Its about 3 miles to get to the kayak ramp if you're walking from the entrance. Beautiful and small park, but perfect for a quick getaway from Annapolis hustle. read more

Drove up to this place not really knowing what to expect, and was surprised, there was an entry fee of 6 dollars. The friendly guy in the quiosk was awesome in explained the layout of walking trails and views of the water, so I decided to anti-up the $ and check it out. This was so nice and relaxing to walk the trails and finish at one of the pavillions overlooking the water. This park is close to home, and it is really lovely. There are tons of meandering trails, some with views of the water. The visitors center is used for exhibits, lije art shows. The bandshell is the site of outdoir concerts in the summer. There us a pobd with fountains, and an ice rink in winter. They have a kayak rental concession. There is a daily fee of $6 per car. I purchased a lifetime senior pass, and have more than gotten my money's worth. I'm a huge fan of photography, and a sucker for hiking w/ scenery. I stumbled on Quiet Waters Park a few weeks ago in search of a park nearby that would satisfy all of my adventure loving needs. Quiet Waters is beautiful. It costs $6.00 per vehicle, and it's well worth it. They have a concert stage, a trail that's about 6 miles long, a dog park, and a dog beach, that's a nice place to walk even if you don't have a pet. There's a concert stage, that I'm sure gets a lot of visitors and attention when the weather permits, and it's just a really cool place. I love it here and I think you would too! read more

This park is a beautiful place to run. The paved running trails are very intuitive and it's one giant interconnected loop that makes you feel off the beaten path, but not too far that you get lost or feel like you are running for miles before you find the main road or where you parked your car. I don't have a dog, but ran by the dog park and it looks nice... there's a section where you can access the water via a little beach inlet and a dog rinsing station for afterwards. The garden/pavilion area is beautiful and really soothing with multiple water features and a garden. I sat there to stretch and cool down after a great 4.5 mile run around the loop. When I went on the weekend they were charging to get in, however it's free with military ID. Couldn't have been more than $5-6 otherwise. However on a Monday when I drove through there was nobody at the gate... free for all! read more

Hey Siri.. play VIEWS. The most beautiful park I've seen in a long time. The power of Google led me to this place on a beautiful Saturday morning. Entry fee of $6 is required but it's worth every penny. There is a little something for everyone in the family including your four legged babies. Very nice spot to have day dates, picnics, walks, and scenic for special occasion photo shoots. Can't wait to go back and experience the water sports and fishing aspect. I've written about events and services at Quiet Waters Park. See my past reviews. It's a good place just to go for a nice walk. In addition to the main entrance there are a number of trail entrances around the park that are lovely whether you live near by or drive in for a walk in the woods. Trails are well cared for but are rustic so you'll want to watch for poison ivy and poison oak. Part of my daily routine once or twice a day to go for a walk in the woods. read more

I love this park. Unfortunately I live in Edgewater so it's a little bit of a drive to get here, but it's usually worth it. They have a lot of mostly paved walking paths in and out of the woods, so it's a great place to go for a walk. They also have a dog park here which I haven't personally used (don't have a dog yet), but have checked out and it looks pretty decent. Bare bones, but a decent size. What I love about this park is that it has wooded walking areas but also quite a few areas that hit the water. If you go all the way to the end at the roundabout area, you there is a beautiful overlook area with a gazebo and some benches. It's very peaceful. They also have a cafe now and the gardens area around the main center building is very pretty. I like that they also have some concerts going on, though I've only seen and heard them from afar while walking around the park. read more

My little guy had a great day at Quiet Waters. It's a canine's paradise. A beach on the South River just for them, lots of butts to sniff without anyone saying, "Bad dog!", trails to roam and two dog park areas: one for large dogs, and one for small and/or elderly dogs... what's not to love about that? I am sure there is more to this place then this. They have gazebos for picnickers away from the dogs. It is easy to follow the signs to find the dog friendly area. This park is absolutely worth the $5 admission (per car, not person) and you can purchase a $30 yearly membership (FREE for military individuals, Vererans and their families). It is an official county park so the money is going towards its upkeep (somebody has to empty the poop can!). My little guy and I plan to come back often. The park is still just as beautiful in the winter as in the summer. The ice skating rink is open until 9 PM most nights, except Tuesdays when the rest of the park is closed. The gate is not attended after 5 PM (as of January) so the admission is free after dark (to visit the ice skating rink only). Most people don't realize the food vendor, Pit Boys is open in the visitor center providing hot and cold meals days and evenings when the skating rink is open. The park admission is $6 per vehicle, with discounts to veterans and others. The annual pass, which is the only way to go, is $40 which gives you unlimited access to the park! If you're looking for upcoming events or want to volunteer to support the park, please check out "The Friends of Quiet Waters Park" website or Facebook page. I love this spot so much. I was coming here almost weekly this spring and if you do the full loop from the main entrance, it's a two-hour walk. It's a county park and $6 but the annual pass is only $30 I think so a really great deal if you come often. Most of the trials are paved and accessible and it's conveniently located with parking if you're driving. I went here a few times to study, walking down to the landing at the mouth of the South River, which is also an incredible view. I have no idea if they'll open up the little vending building this summer, but you can of course bring in your own food and grill at a designated picnic spot. There's a playground if you have kids, a large dog park and dog beach, and a water station to clean off the pups when they get sandy. It's also a great spot if you are into bird watching and in the spring when birds migrate back up north, it's a prime location to catch a few rare sightings. read more

The Ice Rink is open again!!! 9 am to 9 pm!! It's nothing phenomenal but it's a great experience and they sell hot cocoa just outside the rink so you can get some while you are there taking a break. The rest of the park I am also a fan of. They have a dog area which is fun to watch. The paths through the woods are good. There are a lot of events here when the weather is better. You can rent the inside locations and it's lovely for a quaint outdoor wedding in the summer. The pavilion snacks are limited (better off bringing a snack with you). read more

Upkeeping a park like this is such a worthy investment for the neighborhood. There's a cafe in the Pavilion where you can get snacks! I didn't see a single sign but walked in looking for a map/pamphlet and found the snack bar instead. Lots of tables with nice art work and comfy seats to relax and hideaway from the summer heat while still enjoying the views through large glass window panes. The dog beach is closed due to bad erosion but it's still a nice short stroll from the parking lot to the water's edge where you can sit under a little pavilion or along the pier and enjoy ducks skimming the waters surface, trying to stay in front of the little boats while they zoom by. It was tempting to eat the raspberries and blackberries growing wild along the way but I didn't... See if you can find the alligator and tiger hiding among the trees. They're actually carved and painted into an old fallen tree trunk. read more

This was a nice little treat in Annapolis! We drove through some not so scenic neighborhoods and then suddenly came upon the entrance to the park. The park is huge - the trails aren't that long but having a bike is nice for getting from area to area. There's a lot to do here - watch a concert on the huge lawn, walk the trails, visit the boat dock, or go ice skating in the winter. However, the best view is at South River Overlook. Each is close to one of the many parking areas. Picnic tables located throughout the well landscapes grounds. Beach area for dogs. There are boat and bicycle rentals available A few gazebos which would make for a great photo opportunity. Restrooms are within the park. Which is awesome when you've little ones with you. There is also a small cafe. I was told they also have places for weddings etc., but not sure on that as those buildings appeared closed on day we went to park. All in all a gem of a place to spend time while in Annapolis. There is a $6.09 entrance fee. I do believe that you can get an annual pass. read more

Second, there is few to visit the park. $6. I think that is totally fine as long as they will keep well maintained. One thing I noticed: everybody here relaxes and smiling. (ROTD 12/29/2015) Bottom Line: A great county park in Annapolis for adults, children and canines. I appreciate parks and I am glad that I have some options close to my home. I find parks are a nice way to unplug even if only for a little while. Even in the cold days of winter or the humid days of summer I can find solitude at Anne Arundel County's open spaces. Here is what I like about Quiet Waters: - Paved walking/jogging/biking path that is about six miles long and shaded in many areas - Lots of "first come, first serve" picnic tables, many of which are under shady trees. Not only is this a great place to share a meal, but they make great spots for connecting with friends and playing board games. - A nice overlook of the South River although there is little shade there unless you can score one of the two gazebos. - Ample trash cans and recycle bins to make the park a more pleasant experience for everyone - Pavilions that can be rented for special events and large groups - A new playground for kids. - A nice fenced in dog park and a dog beach although they are not always both open. - Bathrooms with running water. :-) - Parking throughout the park so you can park close to your desired activity - The park is easy to navigate. If you missed your turn you can just circle back since the main road is a big loop. read more

We visited this dog park based off a review of one of our 24 hour daycare dogs (one of Laurie's 'favorite' daycare dogs). We packed our four dogs and one of our daycare dogs into the back and headed out around 10 am from Alexandria, VA. Traffic was light so the drive was pleasant - GPS had us turned around a few times, but overall it took us about an hour to get there. The park is beautiful - wide open spaces of wonderful green grass. The dog park area is all the way at the end of the park - just follow the paw print signs. Big open area with some dirt in the front and grass around the sides. Couple cute pools and fresh water was a nice plus since our male dog loves to swim after exhausting himself with non-stop fetching. The fence around the park has some open spots so you'll want to watch small dogs. We actually spotted a puppy squeezing himself halfway through the gate before his owner got to him. The dog beach was a little confusing to find, the signs weren't as clear as to where to go. We finally found it at the end of a long path and were very happy to see so many dogs off leash (we tend to keep our dogs off leash most of the time since we have good control over the pack). Our dogs loved it! Even our little ones jumped right in and started swimming. We stayed near the entrance since it became more crowded the further down the beach you went and even though it was a Sunday there was enough space for everyone to have a little area to stand and interact with their dogs. Especially if you have 5 dogs.. The water was very dirty so you'll definitely want to get the dogs cleaned up before ending the day. We never did find the dog wash area, but was told there was one near the beach. We took the dogs back into the dog park and rinsed them in the pools. Overall we spent a few hours there and the dogs were utterly exhausted and ready for a nap by the time we got home (and honestly so we were). We'll probably go again, but with just our dogs - there's an added stress when you bring a client's dog with you to a public area. Thanks for the review Elaine K. Oh my gosh this is the best park ever !!! If you just look at my pictures they will explain why I love this park so much! They have a really nice bike trail which is very clean it's not too long about 2 miles but it's enough for me and my family to start bike riding again There is also a humongous turtle pond which we plan on bringing our turtles here to live because they don't seem to happy in their tanks and I bet they would love the big pond just for turtles. An excellent park for runners and walkers! I run here weekly along the roads and trails. All of their trails are heavily shaded, which is nice if you need a break from the harsh sun. Just be careful if you go to the park after it rains, some of the trails become really slippery. There are also many beautiful lookout points, perfect for taking a brief break, and appreciating nature's beauty. I also tend to see lots of wildlife here without even looking too hard. I have seen turtles and deer families. If you have kids, there re many playgrounds within in the park. However, with COVID going on, I do not recommend using them. read more

I LOVE this dog park. I wish there was more space on the dog beach for them to run, but other than that, no complaints. We just hit up the dog park after the beach to let Duke run around. We played on the dog beach for a while. There was lots of fetch and chasing. The people there, and their dogs, were all pretty awesome. It was a good way to introduce my future surfer dog to salt water and small waves (when the tide was changing). The plants along the beach gave Duke some shade and a place to hide his tennis balls. We hosed him off (they have a little dog rinse station), and let him run around the park. The dog park was spacious. I recommend going here after the beach if your dog, like mine, tries to drink most of the Chesapeake (let him drain the tank before the car ride home). There were a few toys there, and running water - always a plus! We'll be back, I'm sure. read more
