Even in the dead of winter it's a Beautiful park located at the convergence of 2 rivers that empty in to the bay. Things to love : Well marked roads. Nice vistas. Walking trails. Playgrounds for children. A nice place to see boars go by. You can partake of this park and 4 other county parks with a pass for $40 yearly, $30 for seniors. If you are 65 you can get that pass for a lifetime for 1 fee.

I honestly can't do this review without a before and after. We used to come here so much in the summer for a nice close by swim. 2021 it was closed down and 2022 we didn't get to go. Man we were super disappointed when we came back. Ready for a nice swim and some fresh sun. But nope. The smell and muck near the water made it impossible to tolerate being there. I was honestly very disappointed with the change here. It's so much nasty stuff, bathrooms aren't clean. Not clean water to swim like it used to be because there's green muck and geese poop even in the water!!!!! Not at all sanitary. Last time we would go back. I really miss it 3 years ago

I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's definitely one of my happy places. There's so much to do here: there's picnic tables with grills, there's small beaches you can swim in during the summer, there's playgrounds and basketball hoops for kids, and if you've got boats, you can leave and come back from and fishing. There's tons to do and lots to see. It's so beautiful and the people are truly so kind. The only downside is there's lots of geese and often the poo is not taken care of.

Had a good time yesterday visiting this park and it's small beach It seems to be not well known as the beach was small but not too many people there. The water goes way out before it goes too deep. Kids we're enjoying it. The park also has a fishing area and a place for kayak's to launch. They charge $6 a car to enter but it's free to military and veterans. I recommend this park

Nice park to walk with my dog, on the smaller side- but very nice views of the water! It took us about 30-45 minutes to walk the whole park. The attendant talked me into buying the yearly pass(4 parks included) and I'm glad I did.

Fort Smallwood Park features numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, from running to just sitting in your car looking out over the water. I have spent many hours walking along the trail that runs the circumference of the park. It is a good fishing spot, too. The county has an ongoing project to refurbish the park, and it shows well. It's well worth the cost of entry, currently 6 bucks.

Small beach , pretty clean n peaceful , the water is low so u have go pretty far out if u want it to be deep , u don't step on a bunch of rocks n seashells , they have a part on the beach where your dogs can swim as well as a part for finishing , it was only $7 for a car load, I'm looking forward too going back next year

This park is very pretty and family friendly. There are small trails and in the summer beach are for swimming. Parking can be tight. There are rock jetty'sfor fishing. The only thing that I didn't like was that the water makes anything white you wear to an ugly brown, make sure you wear dark colors to the beach area.

My boyfriend and I finally decided to come to this beautiful park and we definitely love it we swimming here and love the water the atmosphere and everything we definitely recommended to everyone

Looking beyond all the yellow tape and orange fences due to what looks like remodeling. This is a pretty nice park. It's got a nice view of the water, and even a pier. The playground is nice, and there is a lot of space to run around or do other group activities. There is also a basketball court. The only downside is that there is really no shade near the playground, and the picnic tables are a good distance away. This park would be perfect on maybe a windy 65° day, but other then that I'll pass. Hook up some shade and this park would be perfect.

Great park not very large but I enjoyed it. You can swim in the the beach or go fishing. There's a playground for the kids. The cost is $6 per car which I don't think is bad.

This is a lovely park. Great for a picnic get together or just sitting by the shore listening to the waves. There is one playground for the little ones.

Half the park is closed for renovations. Don't bother unless you want to take small child to playground

Large park and beautiful lake. Nice play area for small children set aside but still in view of land marks and water.

On any given day, you can spot a wide variety of bird species, which adds to the tranquility of the surroundings. The trails through the woods are well-maintained and offer a wonderful escape into nature. I especially enjoy the paths that lead to the fresh water ponds, where you can admire the beauty of the area while getting some exercise. I've been here to walk 4-5 times, in different seasons, and each has its charm. In the spring, you will see myriad flowers in bloom, hear the lovely song of little streams and birds trilling. Winter is very different, with frosty pine cones and leaves to photograph, and everything so still. Fall is lovely! I saw two does with their mostly grown fawns, and encountered a baby rattlesnake! That surprised me greatly as I've never seen or heard of them around here. I confess that fall is my favorite season; I love the bluest skies and the aroma of leaves. I prefer not walking on asphalt too much, so as soon as I can (where the duck loop cuts off and so does the vernal trail) I cut down to the sand/dirt path along the water. Both trails, asphalt and dirt, eventually end up at a sort of trail end. The other day when I was here, since there was no water in the stream, I crossed over to see if I could go any farther - ermmm not really. There are numerous access points from the neighborhood that borders the preserve, so lots of folks seem to walk their dogs close to home. The water was extremely low since we've had very little rain; I was surprised at how far the mud banks extended into the lake. There are NO services whatsoever! Go potty before you get out to walk!

Andover Park was easy to find as it's close to the airport. The park is a multi-purpose park as it has a few fields along with the BWI Trail. Parking was easy to find as well once I realized the trail parking is on the other side of the ball field parking. Once parked, I hit the BWI Trail and fell in love. As the trail itself is a little over 11 miles, I did 2 miles and turned around and headed back. The trail is spacious and easy to follow. The signs are clear and the variation of the trail varies from easy to moderate. As I walked along the trail I was captured by the sights of the airport, the horses, and the natural landscape of the greenery. As my walk came to an end, I not only felt good but I was also excited at the experience. If you're in the area and wanting a great trail to walk, run, or bike, check out Andover Park.

In general, cyclists are kind and let you know that they are passing. It's nice that you will see the occasional bench there if you just to sit and enjoy some rays or take a break. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance up by the ballfields or down a ways by the horses. I'm probably doing a disservice by only mentioning the walking trails because that's basically what I will be using. But from what I have seen the ballfields look well-kept and appear to be a fine venue In the county for recreational sports.

It's a little distracting to play tennis there during peak times- there's a lot of activity between the planes, the highway, people smoking pot in the picnic areas, and once there were even kids on ATVs riding around loudly. Sometimes people blast music in the parking lot for absolutely no reason. For awhile there was a creepy old guy who lived in his truck in the parking lot and would make me super uncomfortable being there if alone, but he wasn't there the last two times I've been- maybe he has moved on. But overall, it is great that there is a place in the community for activities such as tennis and skating, and it seems to be well-maintained.

It's not a very long walking trail. It was good enough for what we wanted, just to get a good few laps in for exercise. At the time, the park was busy with people playing tennis and basketball. There were a few little league baseball practices going on as well. The parking is another story. If you do not get there at a decent time, you could end up parking along the side of the playing fields or in the grass outside of the park. Thankfully, we were able to get a parking spot. If you live in the area, it's a nice park to visit. Just be aware that after work hours during the week, parking could be an issue. On top of that, the park could get really crowded.
