Which I did, and 15 minutes later we were at Jonas Green, and there were lots of spots available. Jonas Green is a small park, with a small and very calm beach -- perfect for our toddler. Like most of the waterfront around Annapolis, it has beautiful views, plus restrooms, grills and picnic tables, and a nice variety of people: couples, families, kids. Very family friendly and quiet. We loved it, and will definitely go back.

Fort Howard was built to ensure that invaders would never come upon Baltimore soil ever again. Many historic buildings still exist but are decaying. Hopefully some of the rumors that I hear that they will be turned into condos are true. Great place for history lovers to roam around.

Since North Point is State Park, you have to make reservations before entering. This requires you to create an account online and pay prior to entry. I felt that it was awkward I had to do that this morning since there was not a lot of people in the park and they were not at capacity. I'm not a fan of this at all however I do understand with some parks who meet capacity on the weekend and holidays during the summer. It's a nice area that also offers a swimming area as well as a pavilion and multiple trails to walk.

Can't recommend enough, and the neighborhood is great. My HS, (City forever!) is here, Herring Run Park, Lake Clifton and the golf course are super close. As others have said, there is no bathroom on the premises but parking is free (at the elementary school near the pavilion). And there are weights and a place to work out and plenty of other people around working out as well. If you want a place to walk, run, ride a bike, workout, sit, have a picnic or roller skate, this is the place for you.

I was told that this lake had been closed for a while, so once it reopened, the community immediately came together to take a walk. Parking is somewhat easy, but I would recommend parking behind Lake Montebello Elementary School. The lake is patrolled all day, so if you were to walk solo, you would be in good hands. The track loops, but it is even, making it easy to walk, run, or bike. I will definitely be back at this beautiful lake.

Divided into 6 parts, it's not possible to do it in one day or even one week. Each part is…read moredifferent, although there is overlap. It could take a lifetime to get to know this park well. It's pretty huge. In fact, it's Maryland's largest state park. I spent 4 days here camping recently and barely scratched the surface. There are lots of hiking trails for all levels. There are numerous bike trails that are flat and easy, including the famous Torrey C. Brown rail trail that goes for about 20 miles and crosses into Pennsylvania. And there's also a fair amount of mountain bike trails that range from moderate to difficult. There are places to swim and picnic too. All of it is family friendly. Essentially, the park is the land all along both sides of the Little Gunpowder Falls River. You'll just have to see it for yourself. I can recommend Jesse's Trail and Pleasantville area loop for mountain biking; Torrey C. Brown rail trail (an all-weather trail made of crushed stone that's flat and smooth) for both hiking and biking; and Hobo Beach for a dip in the water. Parking can be challenging, so the earlier in the day, the better.

The park has hiking trails, a nature center, picnic spots, a playground, and a dog park, all adjacent to Lake Roland. I recently discovered that canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching and local favorites, too. Sometimes I go just to zone out while enjoying the weather or just taking a quick nap in the car. Conveniently located in Canton, allowing you to enjoy the park is every way. Parking is available on the street or in the little lot (if there are no events going on) and there is a park bathroom there, as well. My favorite part is enjoying the view of the water, seeing the sails come by, and admiring the boats that are cruising through or pulling up to the waterfront docks!
