Since retiring, I've been hitting up every outdoor space on my list. I came to walk the trail(s), but one visit is simply not enough. I see that now. I'll definitely have to come back on my bike to get the lay of the land. Random, but everytime I come to this park, my GPS takes me on a tour of the neighborhood when I can see the park is RIGHT THERE. Anyway, I came during the week and parked on a side road inside the park. Again, I'm not really familiar with the best place to park to access whatever it is I'm trying to access. I started walking on the trail and was actually hoping I didn't get lost (even though my Garmin can take me back to my starting point). I asked a woman where to go and she directed me to 'the loop'. The loop will work for today! Apparently the loop was closed due to construction. There's work being done on the water tanks (or something like that). But the loop is open, and it's a bit over 1 mile. It's smooth, and I'm already plotting to try it on my bike. But there's absolutely NO SHADE on this portion, so plan accordingly. From the loop I could see the pool, tennis courts, and basketball courts, so I made my way there, via a trail. Again, the park is huge! From my research, it's the third oldest established park in the United States! Whoa! And, it covers 745 acres of land. Like I said, you'll have to come more than once to see all there is to see. That includes the Baltimore Zoo, which is inside the park. I'll be back on my bike for more recon.

The park is well kept, the grounds were nicely cut and preserved. There were dears out in the middle of the day, there were pavilion areas with picnic tables , trash cans and port of John's (bathroom), I will definitely be visiting again. I noticed that there were working in a project around the reservoir and I can't wait to see it .

It's also nice because there is a golf course and tennis courts as well. My dad used to play tennis here all the time. I think one for the best parts is the part of the park with the stage. Many festivals and events are held here such as the Baltimore National Pan-Hellenic Council Greek Picnic and the Baltimore Washington One Caribbean Carnival. I was recently at Baltimore Carnival and I enjoyed the fact there was so much space and I didn't feel overwhelmed by the crowd. Definitely a great park for all.

It is bordered by Coldstream, Belair Edison, Mayfield, Darley Park on the south and is basically across the street and down the hill from Lake Montebello in the North. This last part is important. With a little thought they could connect Lake Montebello, Herring Run and Clifton park quite easily in a greenway, hiking, running trail that would bring life to all three parks...come on...doooooo it! Clifton holds a golf course, Clifton Mansion which is the home of Civic Works (a NP that runs a charter school in the park and a big urban farm in the park). It's a historic home being restored that has a tower with an amazing view of the city. Call and ask for a tour. Johns Hopkins lived there. There are soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, and some roads that run across it to other neighborhoods. You can park and use it. Last the garden in the North is lovely and well kept, the amazing pump house architecture is a relic, gorgeous, and falling apart.

The pavillion close had a party and the adults were smoking weed and using profanity. Kids were not friendly to little kids. There were several 2/3 yr olds but the kids 10 and older were very wild and knocking them over. There were kids riding bikes on the playground into children. They were old enough to know better and the parents knew better. I saw a boy thrust kick a 4yr lil girl in her back as she was adjusting to get off the bottom of the slide and yelled MOVE to her. Come to find out they were not together. Her Dad was very upset and so dis another Dad see it and was alarmed and said something. I would suggest to go elsewhere with your kids unless you want to box it out with parents or kids. Save the kiddies from being hurt. Its nice but the traffic it brings in isnt a mix.

My daughter loves coming to the playground and frequently asked to go to the new Ravens park as she calls it. The playground has so many fun things for the kids to do. There are also a few pavilions to use for gatherings. There are a few Port A Potty available and full restrooms near the football fields. There is also a walking trail near the pavilions near the baseball fields. There is typically an Ice Cream Truck stationed in the parking lot especially on hot days. Parking is spacious and plentiful. Will definitely return and I love the newly added playground.

It's a beautiful, wide open area with plenty of space to walk. There's also trails but I didn't explore that part because I wasn't wearing the right shoes and didn't know how to get to the trail itself. I love the history about the apple orchard trees and will definitely be coming back.

I'm always looking for something to do with my toddler on rainy days and the nature center is the perfect place to get out of the house for a bit. Whether you want to wander on a trail, visit the nature center, pack a picnic and sit on the grass, or attend an event, Cromwell has so many options. There is something to do for all ages! The events they organize for children and adults are thoughtful and engaging! We have all learned so much through their educational programs. My 3 yr old loves to visit the chickens and play in the nature center. It is such a great place to go on a rainy day! The parking lot is a short walking distance to the entrance of the nature center. On sunny days, we like to pack snacks and sit out on their picnic tables and/or grass. Their outdoor playground is so much fun too! We love exploring the gardens, visiting the frogs and seeing all the flowers bloom. It's so peaceful and relaxing to sit and listen to all the sounds of nature. On warm days, Cromwell is the perfect place to throw rocks in the stream and dip your feet in the water after hiking on the many trails! There are so many shaded spots to sit and relax. We love to go to the open fields to bring a soccer ball and a picnic blanket. Everyone who works there is so friendly and inclusive! It really is a magical place to explore and wander. My son has developed a deep love for nature through exploring the nature center and the park! We can't wait to come back!

Can't recommend enough, and the neighborhood is great. My HS, (City forever!) is here, Herring Run Park, Lake Clifton and the golf course are super close. As others have said, there is no bathroom on the premises but parking is free (at the elementary school near the pavilion). And there are weights and a place to work out and plenty of other people around working out as well. If you want a place to walk, run, ride a bike, workout, sit, have a picnic or roller skate, this is the place for you.

I was told that this lake had been closed for a while, so once it reopened, the community immediately came together to take a walk. Parking is somewhat easy, but I would recommend parking behind Lake Montebello Elementary School. The lake is patrolled all day, so if you were to walk solo, you would be in good hands. The track loops, but it is even, making it easy to walk, run, or bike. I will definitely be back at this beautiful lake.

A few parking spots. Swings, climbing steps, log tunnel, balance beam, and shaded fossil area to play under. This is a wonderful use of this space for local families to walk, have a picnic lunch, and play!

We were with friends on the way to the Science Museum (Apr 2026), and we thought their daughter could burn off a little energy in fun little Rash Field Park, just east of the museum. It's kid-oriented: climbers, a slide, swings ... I cant believe i'm the first to post a photo of the ride-on seagull. It must be pretty new. I did read that this park is continuing to be developed. Looking forward to more!

The next phase is supposed to be completed next summer, but someone needs to come check on the already-completed part because it has fallen into massive disrepair in a seemingly short time. There are no swings on the swingset. There's no water in the water feature (small brook/pond), leaving exposed drainage pipes in a sandy pit. There's a large staircase to nothing. I know this area is used for a lot of events, and I hate the idea of tourists and locals coming across these things and thinking that Baltimore is a, to quote the president, "rat-infested shit-hole." Baltimore is so much better than this. Who is in charge of this project?People, especially children, could get hurt here. It's such a bad look for the Inner Harbor.
