Always well stocked. Sometimes the aisles are too crowed or narrow. The frozen bulk area in very helpful in stocking up.

Nice place, well stocked, good meats, seafood, and other unique items that are normally found in big chain grocery stores but it's local.

We recently decided to "see something new" by taking the slower, less familiar route. Despite having lived in Virginia for over 30 years, we didn't realize that we would be traveling through some of the counties where Virginia's famous peanuts are grown. The first billboards near Waverly caught our attention, but we didn't stop at the first shop that was advertised. We decided that, if there were any other peanut shops, we would stop because Virginia peanuts would make a perfect present for our upcoming visits with some non-Virginia friends and relatives. Thankfully, we found Adam's Peanuts and Country Store soon after. As others have mentioned, Adam's is a true country store, with country smoked hams in crates as you enter, homemade jams and jellies, a dizzying array of peanuts (raw, boiled, salted, chocolate-covered, and more), plus much more. As mentioned, we were there for the peanuts, and ended up buying a whole box full -- about $140 worth to be precise. The quality of the nuts is top-notch, and we appreciated the variety of the products. The prices also weren't too bad though my husband tends to compare these to the giant canisters from Costco! The ambiance of the shop was also country comfortable. My 3-star rating mostly reflects the lack of attention from the elderly shopkeepers. While others on Yelp have characterized them as friendly and helpful, that was not our experience. While we were the only customers upon entering, neither greeted us when we came into the store. My husband asked if they had any samples of the nuts for us to try to help inform our decision on which nuts to buy. They didn't, and they seemed befuddled by the question. Finally, in checking out, I tried to engage them in a conversation about peanut growing in the county, to no avail. March, 2025.

I feed them to birds, squirrels, foxes, etc throughout the year at my mountain home. Great price and product overall. My last two times down my truck was loaded by their workers, whom I gave a $20 tip for less than 10 minutes worth of work. In both instances I was shorted bags, the first time 1 bag and the second 2 bags. I am 4 hours away with no way to prove it, so there was no point in going back, though I did call the shop after the second instance with no remedy. So ultimately, I tipped $40 to be shorted $80+. Doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth and makes me question the company's overall integrity. My trip down last year was disappointing because most of the bags were filled with dirt and branches, and overall the peanuts were just filthy. Now, I 100% understand not cleaning the peanuts, as I'm sure that many people buy the peanuts trying to use them for human consumption, but these were so bad they had to have ADDED trash to them. The issue wasn't the dirt (the animals sure don't care), but the fact that it adds to the weight meaning that I wasn't not paying for 45 lbs or peanuts, but for all the garbage in the bags as well. Again, integrity--or lack thereof. I would say that I'm never going back, but to be honest, it's still the best source for wildlife food that I've found. I'll be heading down again in the next couple of weeks. This time I'll take a trailer so that I can count every bag they put on. I may even cut open the first bag to check the quality and then tape it back up for the trip home. Trust, but verify...

This was a little roadside place with a shop and a warehouse that had a bunch of nuts in the middle of Virginia and they had a selection of all kinds of different combinations as well as some big bags but for us it was all about the honey roasted ones and what a treat they were as the flavors were just where it's at and definitely up there with some of the best honey roasted peanut I've ever had! This was a cool little stop and definitely don't pass them up if you like nuts then this is one of those places for you as it's just a bunch of nuts that will be just right for that long drive home! Overall delicious honey roasted peanuts a cool shop and just a fun random stop to another amazing adventure!

They have buckets for you to grab, or you can bring your own. You get charged per pound that you pick and pay when you're done! They had so many strawberries ready to pick, I had so much fun doing this with my friends kids! I was already planning on making a homemade strawberry shortcake when I got home. They have a cute little coffee truck which I obviously had to stop by. If you have a strawberry latte during strawberry season - you can count on me to grab one! It was so good, and not too sweet or tart from the strawberry! I also had to grab their strawberry donuts from the farm stand. Which, needless to say ... they did not make it home with me. We scarfed those down! Incredible. I loved the "petting zoo" area. You can feed the goats, sit in the rabbit pen and give them some pets, and play with the piglets! Such a cute add on to this experience; and the petting zoo was no charge! They also have a ton of toys and bounce houses for the kiddos. If you're looking for a fun strawberry picking experience, give them a try!
