It has been one year since my first microblade appointment with Genesys, and I am still in LOVE with my brows. They have faded a bit, as was to be expected, but the hair strokes are perfectly placed, so even the more faint ones are so easy to trace if I chose to fill them in. I go to work with no makeup on, and a mask these days, and still get compliments on my perfect brows. :) No other beauty treatment has given me the daily confidence that Genesys gifted to me. Let me tell you that if you were hesitant at all in the past about getting your brows done, put down your phone, email Genesys, and prepare to have your life changed. This is the new you. Let me start by saying that Genesys is one of the most professional, mature, competent and thorough beauty professionals I have ever worked with. Microblading is a huge investment, and she puts you at ease right from the start. You'll start by locking down an initial appointment with $100 which will go to the cost of your first service. When you arrive, Genesys will warmly greet you and explain the microblading process in precise detail and answer any questions you have. The John Francis Spa where she is located is a lovely, clean place. The staff there are great and Genesys' work area is super cute and clean as well. She'll explain immediate aftercare, as well as what you can expect throughout the healing process. It will be about an hour before any microblading is done in your first appointment because Genesys is very deliberate and precise when mapping out how your brows will look. She is insanely skilled and accurate. She'll show you the shape and have you approve before she gets started blading. Now the actual microblading is nothing to be fearful of. Genesys makes sure to apply numbing ointments/sprays and check in on you throughout. This part of the appointment can last anywhere from 45mins to an hour. So relax, keep your eyes closed, and dream of your new, fierce brows. Start to finish of your first appointment is about 2 to 2.5 hours. I came back for my touch up appointment 6 weeks later. Then, I loved my brows so much and wanted them even darker and bolder that I requested a third touch up, and now I wake up every morning with the brows of my dreams. Genesys is an artist. I would not trust anyone else with my face. Her instincts for what shape is good for what face are spot on. She corrected the shape of mine, made them even, fixed their arches, and now I look at old photos wondering why the heck I waited so long to get my flat caterpillars fixed. If you are as lazy as I am and WILL NOT wake up early to fill in your brows. Microblade is the way to go!! A little more than a year ago, my coworker had gone to Genesys for microblading. I loved how her brows turned out; therefore, I did a little research of my own and decided to reach out and email her a photo of my brows since they were tattooed. The tattoo was pretty much faded but I was not sure if that would affect the microblade process. Genesys had assured me that it would be fine but I could possibly still see the tattoo shade under the microblade like I had drew/fill my brows, which I was totally fine with. I set up an appointment and it was very smooth! She had explained everything very clearly/professionally and made sure I loved how my brows looked before beginning the microblade process. The whole process, I believe took about 2.5 hours or so. My brows were already a bit f***ed up from the first time I tattooed it and Genesys had done everything in her arsenal to even it out. I would not use this service. The shape of my brows came from a template, not based on my style or any inspiration photos. Within a year the ink came out of my skin and I'm left with red scars behind and outside my actual brows. I took very good care of them in sunlight after the procedure which I was told would keep them from turning red, but I'm still left with red marks that have been there for an additional year and I'm not sure will go away. First off I want to say that I don't usually trust anyone to shape or fix my brows due to many many bad experiences . I've always had a trusted friend help me clean my brows and re-shape them. I never in a million years thought I would get my brows microbladed and I absolutely glad I did ! From my first session to my touch up every penny well invested ! I love my new brows!!! Not having to do ANYTHING with them in the morning is such a timesaver and they always look perfect. I was on the fence for months about microblading. I'm 58 years old, so the thought of a "Tattoo"" on my face was terrifying. Microblading' s different from a Tattoo...semi-permanent, but it was still really scary. I've been wanting microbladed brows for a few years now and I stumble upon Genesys's instagram (@browsbygenesys) a little over half a year ago. Since microblading is a semi permanent procedure, I basically kept checking up on her work periodically to make sure she was the artist I wanted before I booked an appointment. First appointment: She cleans up your brow area first and remove any makeup before applying numbing cream. This will sit for 10-15 mins to let it sit in. Then she'll go in with Anastasia's dipbrow and fills it in really dark to give you the approximate shape (looks scary bold, but it's to get an an idea of the shape and size. It won't actually look like that). Here's where you tell her how you would like your brows. I informed Genesys that I wanted a lower arch, and more of a straighter brow like the korean trend, and slightly thicker. She was really patient and redrew it each time until I was satisfied with the overall result before starting the procedure. The procedure itself was uncomfortable but not unbearable. (My right brow felt more discomfort, but that's just most likely due to that part being more tender). The initial appointment will probably take about 2 hours because she goes over each brow 2 times.) My brow were beautifully done. Would love some more thickness, but Genesys told me it could be added in the touch up appointment. Healing: Avoid water for the first 24 hours. Avoid hot water, or any activity that induces sweat because that'll open up pores and push out the pigment. If you're oily like me, keep blotting sheets to blot away the oil. And avoid touching your brows. My brows were dark immediately after the procedure and for the next few days until it dried up and peeled off. Touch up appointment (4 weeks after): Same procedure, she cleans up the brow and puts on numbing cream. This time I told Genesys that I would like slightly thicker brows, and she pulled through and did it exactly how I dreamed it would be. She also noted how my right brow lost more pigment than the left, so she picked a darker pigment to adjust to how my body heals and went over every stroke. (To sum it up, she knows what she's doing. Let the artist do her work). Overall, my brows are beautiful and everyone compliments them. Would definitely recommend her to anyone. :) read more

I cannot begin to describe how amazing Genesys is. Not just at her craft, but also as a human. She has been my savior since 2017 for microblading and I had the pleasure of seeing her for my initial appointment and touch up in 2017. She did an incredible job and her work not only reshaped my facial features but also my confidence. I moved to LA in 2018 and have come back to see her in SF TWICE for touch ups because she is worth the travel and cost.
