STEVE's AKAKA FALLS FARM Jams, Butters & Honey: This review…read moreis specifically for Steve's Akaka Farms Giving them 5 stars for their great tasting jams, butters, and honey! Giving 5 stars for Katy, who works at the Pearlridge Farmers Market location in Saturdays. She is a ray of sunshine, with her great smile and loves to share samples of their product. Be careful, though because when you taste the delicious products you'll have to get something! Their passion fruit habanero is amazing with cream cheese and crackers or as a glaze for meats. If you combine it with cream cheese it softens the heat. They do have one with ghost peppers or Caroline Reaper peppers but beware - I bought it for my friend who loves heat and she said it's really hot! They have amazing butters - try any of their chocolate butters and you'll think you are in heaven! Note-these are seasonal so there may be different ones available when you visit. Award winning Coconut black chocolate is absolutely amazing, rich, and decadent and the best way to eat this is to get a big spoonful then just sit there and savor the flavor. The Kona coffee dark chocolate is also amazing. Hard to decide which is better! Got a jar if passion fruit Hawaiian pepper (chili pepper) smoked pineapple Kentucky whiskey to use as a glaze for meat. Can't wait to use it. These also make great gifts to send to or give to suiting folks from the mainland to give them a taste of Hawaii. I like the POG jam for islanders who have relocated to the mainland because it's like a taste of home. Kona coffee butter and mango are also divine. I have the mango for me...! I also got a jar of the mango honey and it's marvelous, too! These are high quality and a bit pricey, but after going to the craft fair at the Blaisdell, the prices are not too much more if not comparable. ...AND they are available weekly! If you go and sample a flavor you like, be sure to ask if it's seasonal (such as mango) or not. If it's seasonal - get it. It may not be available again until the next season. Me

A mix array of vegetables, produce and food booths. In the middle there's a small tent for dinning along with live entertainment. I walked around less than 10mins nothing really cached my eye . It's hard nowadays because on a Saturday other big farmers market is going on ! The KCC and Kakaako farmers Market is also on a Saturday. Support local

There are dozens of…read morevendors, and yeah, some of them sell similar stuff, which honestly works in your favor if you're trying to grab souvenirs without paying Waikiki prices. But if you want something a little more special, definitely look for the local vendors. There are some great spots with handmade items. A few of my favorites that I actually bought from and brought home and I am using: - Cheeky Beach: super cute beachwear by Vivian and her son (they also have a shop in Haleiwa) - Touch of a Goddess: handmade jewelry by a mother-daughter duo - Leonardo Dale Photography: beautiful photo art of the island now displaying at my house. There's a ton to see, so go with time, it's a big market. They also have food and sometimes live music. Admission is $2 per person (cash only), and I'd recommend bringing cash since a lot of vendors don't take cards.

The stalls consolidated across the street and rather than walking all round the stadium, the stalls are lined in neat rows (some in conexs that open up to be a store. All my favorite stalls seem to have made the move - the food trucks have also made the trek across the street. Parking is available in the back and also by the tram station parking lot - just need to walk a little bit. Cost remains $1 for Kama'ainas *locals) and active duty military, $2 for all else. A great place to purchase touristy items, but also stuff you don't think you need until you see it. Check it out! I'm glad the authorities realized the need to keep the Aloha Swap Meet.

Theres also a fish and meat market area in the back as well as ready made Filipino food/snacks. It gets crowded on weekend mornings but so worth it in my opinion! It's just extremely congested and sometimes too busy inside. Cleanliness can be an issue for some but for the most part I'm buying vegetables and fruit and that's enough for me. I used to take my knives to be sharpened in this area but this review is just for the vendors I shopped at. I needed papaya, fresh vegetables and fruits. I saw many vendors that share the same items so sooner or later if you become a regular you will have your favorite vendor you will lean towards. They have vendors that sell already prepared mainly Filipino foods and desserts. They have vendors that sell you fresh fish and seafood as well as fresh meats. I always go to farmers market but I decided to start shopping here. It's convenient for what I was looking for. I see I can buy seasonings and noodles (dry packets) as well as many other things. I will return again when I'm running low on stuff. The prices aren't terrible but not that inexpensive either. You can find some bargain vegetables that aren't pretty but for $1 a piece it's good if you're using them up that day. I say try and go around and see what you can find. Plenty of convenient parking. Nearby outside there's Kamehameha bakery, sugoi'a and other eateries. Nearby is Costco and Costco gas and Home Depot so you can't go wrong.

The danish was soft and the outside had a light flaky crust. The croissants looked good but honestly didn't taste all that great. This Farmers Market is not as large as others on island but, for us, we are drawn to several particular vendors. Like moths to lightbulbs, as soon as we come to the market, we head straight for the Baker Dudes tent. The Baker Dudes offer all sorts of breads and pastries. The yeast-risen breads have a doughy home made texture or perhaps even more like from a bread machine texture... dense, hearty with a nice chew. The range of baked goods include sourdough boules, quick breads, tropical fruit sweet breads, stuffed croissants, cookies, scones and even sticky buns. I think they even have a mobile oven that the "dudes" bake their products fresh on the premises. We've tried their sweet bread, two weeks in a row, starting with mango then cinnamon. This weekend, we even bought their mango stuffed turnovers which were buttery and flaky puff pastry triangles of pure Aloha. TIP: We arrived late, around 11:15-ish and were told that because it was so near to closing, they priced their pastries to go at 3/$5. Their sticky buns and stuffed croissants sell out quickly. They accept cash only and are reasonably priced. Service is congenial and efficient. Don't forget to bring your re-useable bags to put your goodies in as you roam the market. If you miss this vendor, don't worry... Baker Dudes are ALSO regular participants at the Kailua, Ward and Haleiwa Farmers Markets. They have recently added a brick and mortar shop in Downtown Honolulu on Alakea Street. #394
