We've tried the manapua, custard roll, custard mountain bun, hot dog bun, ensemada, ham and cheese bun and hot dog and cheese bun. Char siu manapua has peanut sauce in it and the filling more savory than sweet but the bun is nice and sweet. Out of all the custard pastry, we like the custard mountain bun the best. It is topped and filled with custard. The last time we bought 2 but could not eat it right away. We put it in the fridge and ate it a couple days later. We were amazed that it still tasted fresh and moist! Ensemada not overly sweet but good. The ham and cheese and hot dog and cheese are very similar. Very soft and delicious. The lady who works the cashier is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this lil bakery.

It was a business called: Artisan Cottage Sourdough Bakers I quickly read some reviews and found out that they're quite popular and sell out at times, so I jumped in line. Service was very friendly and helpful! I got the last loaf of Spinach Garlic & Onion sourdough bread... and a Cinnamon Raisin loaf. Slicing the loaves up at home, I chomped on the Cinnamon Raisin sourdough first... delicious and chewy! There were so many raisins in the bread! The Spinach, Garlic & Onion sourdough had a more subtle flavor. I fried a slice in butter and made it crunchy and better! I heard the owner tell another customer that this bread makes great French Toast. He also recommended slicing up the loaves and freezing them so they're ready to eat! I'll go back on Sunday between 10am and 2pm for the sourdough bagels and the Honey & Molasses sourdough loaf!

I'd say if you work in the area it's not bad to come and browse, maybe pick up some lunch/snacks. Otherwise it's not really something I'd make a point to make a special trip for. Totally off subject, but the smell of the area was very refreshing! Like citronella, reminds me of natural bug repelants we use!

On our most recent visit we bought some random produce for super cheap (of course) and also stopped at the Soak 'n Smoke vendor who sells fresh fish blocks or cooks fish filets in front of you to make a plate lunch. The Ono sautéed in garlic butter was super yummy! He also sells smoked meats and dried aku which I wanna try next time. The Hawaiian Style Chili Co. is usually there as well, but they usually setup after 11a so we missed them last time. We did try their scampi, ahi steak, and roast pork once, which were pretty good. The Ocean dim sum guys are always setup early, but after a few tries, I'm not sure I'd go back for more. This is the same folks in Waipahu, at their brick and mortar next to Thelma's. It's not the best dim sum, but I guess it's okay if you're hungry! It was a little sketchy to see shrimp look fun rolls out in the open...I would pass on that. We'll be back again soon to get produce for the week, and hopefully try a different food item next time!

I like that Kaiser does this for their members and their community…read more They always have a vendor that sells fresh produce and I love it. The prices are comparative and a lot of times better than you will find in the store for local produce. They also have a few food vendors here. The last time we were there we decided to try out one of the vendors that was making special musubis and we bought 3. Sometimes when people try to "improve" on classics, its good... like spam katsu, or chicken katsu musbi... but these were just kind of weird. We got flavors like curry musubi and my husband got something spicy that was just way too spicy for me. I guess I just like my regular spam musubi. Anyways, the farmers market at Kaise itself is great.

Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Clinic has a Farmer's Market every Thursday, morning through lunchtime…read more Although the small footprint limits the number of participating vendors, there is always an assortment of goods and services to buy here, and there seems to be some sort of rotation that allows for ever-changing variety. There is one "anchor" vendor always here offering a decent assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables for a reasonable price. The quality is pretty good, and they often give away something with your purchase, like ripe bananas that aren't selling fast enough. Besides the veggie stand, there are vendors selling food at lunchtime (again, they change on a regular basis). I've seen Indian food, Middle Eastern, vegetarian, Asian, Mexican, chili, etc. There is usually a massage therapist offering chair massage, $10 for 10 minutes. She is very good. I've also seen vendors here selling honey, baked goods, sun hats, jewelry, plants, etc. You never know what you'll find on any given day. Just go and check it out! (Remember to bring cash since most of the vendors don't take credit cards.) If you're a Kaiser member, you might also want to check out the OTC drugs in the pharmacy area while you're here as the prices are pretty good. If you are driving here, you can park in metered stalls on the street or use their on-site parking garage. If you stay under 30 minutes, there is no charge; beyond that it is a $3 flat rate. I adore a good farmer's market, but the joy I feel in sleeping in on days that I don't work…read moresupersedes any desire I have to buy fresh produce at 7am. Thankfully this tiny but mighty market exists. Do I hope for a better selection of prepared foods and a few more farmers/ vegetable vendors? Of course I do! I also believe in my heart that they will come back if the customer base grows. This market is held from 3-5pm every Friday. It is currently three produce stands, one juice stand, and two people with ready made food. The space allows for quite a few more tables, and the customers that are there are all happy to have the chance to shop and possibly take home a quick meal. My guess is that they are all in the same mindset as me- loving the idea that I can have the freshest possible salad for dinner and a few things to snack on for the next few days. Prices are excellent, with all three of the vendors currently offering a deal of three small bags of vegetables for $5. I find that we spend $20- $30 every week and have enough to last us the weekend. Cash is preferred, though I believe that everyone currently take cards. Also remember your shopping bags or basket, because juggling tomatoes and long beans is not easy. There's plenty of parking in the lot or on the street, and the shopping center is obviously filled with stores that will help you fill out your Friday evening desires. The Friday Fresh Market is a fantastic asset to the neighborhood, and has the potential to be even better.

Lately, when browsing Uber Eats, the Strawberry Cream Cheese has been enticing me to reorder…read more Interesting that it's been exactly 11 months since I last ordered. I reordered the strawberry again via Uber Eats. This time, everything ran smoothly, from order, to driver pickup, to delivery. The driver even made a comment about how great the aroma was at the bakery. I liked that the bakery had placed the bread in a reusable Molokai Hot Bread Bag. Of course, I will keep it. Remembering how the strawberry bread fell apart while slicing it before, I tried a different tactic this time. I used disposable gloves which I had on hand at the office and carefully tore the loaf along the center crease. After I had the two halves separated, then I used a disposable plastic knife to slice through each half. The result was neater than our first brute-force approach almost a year ago. I enjoyed the bread much more this time, although I still had to be careful because there was so much filling. Others who tasted it liked it as well.
