I love getting fresh eggs. You can totally taste a difference. I still get at the store of course but when its convenient but prefer farm. Peterson Farms is closer to my home and work so I used to go there but since they shut down I just kept going to Costco. Despite my cousin always telling me to go to Maili Moa. Despite always driving past as we go beach like every weekend. But I finally did because I had time and no kids with me. And I wasnt working. So I got there after this nationwide egg shortage already started. I got there at about 11:15 and they opened at 12. I still had maybe 10 cars in front of me. Another time I went we got there just before noon and had maybe 20-30 cars ahead of me. Still yet it moved fast as they have implemented a great crowd control process. And because everyone is phenomenally nice. Quite simply, they are super friendly there, the eggs are tasty and affordable and this is what is truly means to support local. You go to the source. In addition to the eggs they have all kinds of local products. Honey (raw and from Hilo), lilikoi butter, mac nut honey butter, coffee butter. Also affordable. They embody aloha here. First time to the Egg Farm! Beautiful drive on a beautiful day out to Maili. Easy to find using your map app or just turn right off of Farrington Hwy. right after the Pink Market onto Maliona St. and drive all the way down and it will be on your left. Nice sized parking lot can fit about 10 cars. When we went there was no line we arrived around 10:30 am, just walked up to the window and placed our order for 1 flat of Large Brown eggs for $14.00, the girl at the window was very friendly and brought out 2 flats of eggs, the top flat did not look like large eggs but med/small eggs so my husband asked is this large? The girl said no, the flat on the bottom is large but the one on the top is FREE......what? Wow! 30 small/med eggs for FREE??? So worth the drive out to Maili for fresh eggs. Located on the left side at the end of Maliona Street, and has a few parking stalls. We went around 30 minutes before closing (~1:30pm) and saw that they were out of almost all types of eggs, except for the small grade B eggs, extra large, and jumbo grade B eggs, so we opted for two trays of the Small White Grade B eggs ($6 per tray, 30 in each tray). When we went there was only one customer and us so I got to take my time at looking over the menu and all the goodies on the table. They have white, brown and even quail eggs. They also have fry your own pastele lumpia and a few other snacks and sweets like brownies, cookies and candies. This is my very first review on Yelp ever. I happened to learn about this egg farm from a woman customer at Waianae Store. I was at the egg section about to place a multi-container of 5 dozen large white eggs into my shopping cart when she made a comment of how high the egg prices were. She mentioned that eggs were far cheaper at the egg farm. I actually didn't think $15.99 for 5 dozen large eggs were that pricey at Waianae Store. After getting more info from her, I decided to search Yelp and make a visit there myself. Here's the 411: this place supplies Whole Foods Market with organic farm raised eggs, both white and brown. This is not a store, it's actually a ranch/farm that you drive into their dirt driveway, park, and order at a walk in counter. The prices here are significantly lower than retail and they had a special the last 2 times I was there. Pricing works by the size and color (white/brown) of eggs. They sell eggs by the carton not by the dozen. A carton is 30 eggs. Sizes are small, medium, large, extra large, and jumbo. The special they had running was buy a carton of small brown eggs and get a 2nd carton free. So I paid $7 for 60 small brown cage free organic eggs. It would have been a dollar cheaper if I went for the white eggs instead of the brown. Customer service was awesome, the workers seem to be relaxed and happy to serve you. This place is walking distance to Maili Elementary School. Also the egg farm opens early morning and closes early afternoon so if you're a 9 to 5'er than you gotta pre-plan a bit, they close around 3pm I think. The shells on these eggs are considerably more stronger and take more effort to crack which I've noticed. I tend to crack eggs by tapping them on my knuckles and these can withstand more force than regular store eggs. This would have come in handy during my HIgh School egg drop days. This place accepts CASH or EBT cards ONLY. They do not supply anything to carry the eggs with except the paper cartons that hold them so bring a medium to large box with you (and large plastic bags if needed) I hope my first review on Yelp was helpful. When going down Maliona St. you will need to pass the elementary school on your right hand side and keep going straight ahead towards the mountain all the way until you see the farms open gates on the left hand side. (They have a square company sign at the corner, pass the sign and keep heading straight to the mountain) The lady working there is very friendly & informative. She told me they have about 20,000 chickens there on property. I ordered 1 tray (30ct) of brown XL eggs since they we out of large today. They had a special due to high production (which they don't always have) which is buy 1 tray of eggs get 1 tray of white eggs free. My total came out to $11 for 60 eggs or 5 dozen! I cooked the eggs as soon as I got home for breakfast and both my husband and I devoured them ! Will definitely come back for more soon read more

Best place to pick up eggs, I love their specials. At times they have a "buy one tray and get one free", those are the best. Different sizes are so helpful in choosing which one is good for my needs. I do a whole lot of baking and cooking and we go to this place to pick up eggs, been going to this place for over 2 years now and we don't buy grocery store eggs anymore we just come here and pick some up! I love Maili Moa. You'll be getting the freshest yet cheapest eggs around. They sell eggs by the tray (30 eggs) in white or brown and by size. They run specials most of the time where they offer free eggs with your purchase. The specials are posted at the walk-up window as well as the egg prices. There is also a large table of fresh fruits produce for sale. They even have snacks and goodies for sale! You can get brownies, canned drinks, candies and chips. This is the only place I can find my favorite Big Island Krunch Bars! They also sell a little array of homemade hummus, pesto, kim chee and a few more which you can sample before purchasing. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I took my mom here on a Wednesday morning when we both had a day off and ended up buying a couple papayas, a carton of eggs, kale hummus, and papaya salsa. Everything was amazing!!! The lady at the front told us that the kale hummus and papaya salsa is made by a Japanese woman who grows her own stuff in her own garden and then sells it at the farm on Wednesdays.
