We had the typical Hawaiian traveller's dilemma: we had to check out by 11 am, and of course, we were on a red-eye night flight back home. We didn't want to rent a car the last day, so what would we do with our luggage on the last day? The condo we stayed at would not store our bags, as this was not a hotel, so Paradise Transport solved this problem easily for us. I called and was told baggage pick up would be $20 for 2 bags for the day. A fee of $15 would apply for bag drop off that evening, but if we booked them for airport transport, the fee would be waived. We needed a ride to the airport anyway, and were charged the low price of $18 each. The pickup lady for our bags was on the minute punctual, cheerful and the SUV type van she drove was a newer model and spotlessly clean inside. Our airport ride driver was early, cheerful, and we could not have asked for better service as well as a smooth, safe ride to the airport. Call these people first, for baggage storage, or airport transportation! Mahalo :-D

First off - always super smiley and very courteous! First rental I did was just for two days - but she got me what I needed. I didn't have the rental long enough but let her know upon return. Had to laugh cuz I had the hand crank for the windows - a bit nostalgic for those of us remembering cars BEFORE electronic times on that! (wait does that mean I'm old now? NOOOO don't tell me!!!!! I'm still a kid!) 2nd time - still using the vehicle - I was in a rush - and wasn't trying to rush her - just had some really urgent things happening and when I explained all - she was super fast getting everything done for me! (I mean they do take a lot of walk ins) She was so eager to help me out she was jotting down all I saw on the walkover of the vehicle so that she could help expedite things. She even took me up to the floor where the vehicle was parked cuz she knew I was on a time crunch drove me down the garage - to the ground level and we just swapped places (of course after I made deposit and all). But she really made her fingers fly on the keyboard helping me out! Hands down she was super excited for me on my new adventures and was very eager to help get me on my way and ensure my success! Prices are extremely reasonable as well - less than $30 per day! Compare that to say Enterprise - I'd be paying well over $400 that just the rental and NOT inclusive to the insurance. VERY affordable here. And extremely accommodating! You can even go in person and reserve in advance, or can call them on the phone. These folks know life is busy, and most want to just get point A to point B without too much hassle and having to sign your life away. They don't do that here. They really decent! And using the tiny cars you can fit ANYWHERE! Kudos Shania for your assistance, and NOW I know who to go to for short term rentals! THANK YOU!!!! Keep it up Smart Cars - you doing people right! We dined in at a nearby restaurant, then walked around seeking Kona coffee. Our suite was ready around 3 PM. The suite was very spacious and I am mostly impressed with the cleanliness. The bathtub did have a ring of discoloration surrounding the drain. I gave my kids showers instead of baths to be on the safer side. I love that there are multiple pools on the resort. Although, I am disappointed that the adult pool closes at 6 PM, which all the other pools close at 9 PM. There is a private beach area, which my kids enjoyed. Beach chairs are $26 each, which are quite expensive. I appreciate the $65 per night dinning credit, which we utilized at the on site market for snacks and water. We enjoyed the brief firework show from our balcony suite. We attended the on site Huli Huli event, which was quite disappointing. I did not enjoy the food and it was pricey. $75 for skewers, corn, and shrimp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will contemplate on a return visit in the future.

Enter your floor level and it tells you what elevator to get on - you and the 8 other families with 4+ people trying to get in an elevator at the same time doesn't work. So you're stuck on your floor or the lobby for 10+ minutes waiting. Next - the smell of marijuana and cigarettes coming from nearby balconies. We notified front desk but nothing could be done. And finally? The cockroaches that scurried out from under the ice machine on the floor. The picture obviously isn't inside - but it's a cockroach nonetheless the less.

She was incredibly attentive to our needs, thoughtfully ensuring that our rooms were convenient and comfortable for everyone in our group. What truly stood out was her ability to make us feel valued not just as guests, but as people. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and it was clear she takes great pride in creating a positive experience for those she helps. Waking up to the ocean right outside our window made it all worthwhile. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk, maintenance team, and all the staff members we interacted with were all very friendly and really helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay. The location is def a huge plus, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it super convenient. The pool is a bit small and tends to get crowded, but it was heated, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the SWIM bar and restaurant. The food and drinks there were surprisingly good but they have a new menu so I was disappointed I didn't get to try some of the items I saw on the Yelp reviews . For this tour, we had IMO the best local guide, her name is Risa. She spoke passionately about Uyghur culture and was one of the few local guides that I did not notice anyone falling asleep to on the bus (at least from where I was sitting in the back of the bus). In contrast with other different tours... the local guide will speak in a monotone voice and give text-book like lectures on the bus. People will then start to tune out and fall asleep. The company tour leader would then have to interrupt and tell a joke to wake everyone up. Pleasantly... this was not the case with Risa and this Air & Sea Xinjiang tour. The group also found Risa fun to hang out with on this tour. The Air & Sea Tour leader for this particular Silk Road Xinjiang tour, Derrick K., was outstanding and organized. He kept everything together like super glue and made things go as smoothly as possible. Having great local guides and tour leaders are what help make any tour successful. Actually... all of the other Air & Sea Tour leaders on my previous trips (Ryan, Mike, Derick S.) were outstanding as well. What I like about Air & Sea overall is that their tour itineraries are carefully thought out. They don't try to cram too much stuff into one day like other companies do as that can be tiring. Air & Sea tours give one the experience to try foods that are not usually found in Honolulu. I've been on their Tibet, Kyushu, Hokkaido, Harbin, Niigata, and lately Xinjiang tours. All were great. These Air & Sea tours have been a culturally educational and fun experience for me.
