We had the typical Hawaiian traveller's dilemma: we had to check out by 11 am, and of course, we were on a red-eye night flight back home. We didn't want to rent a car the last day, so what would we do with our luggage on the last day? The condo we stayed at would not store our bags, as this was not a hotel, so Paradise Transport solved this problem easily for us. I called and was told baggage pick up would be $20 for 2 bags for the day. A fee of $15 would apply for bag drop off that evening, but if we booked them for airport transport, the fee would be waived. We needed a ride to the airport anyway, and were charged the low price of $18 each. The pickup lady for our bags was on the minute punctual, cheerful and the SUV type van she drove was a newer model and spotlessly clean inside. Our airport ride driver was early, cheerful, and we could not have asked for better service as well as a smooth, safe ride to the airport. Call these people first, for baggage storage, or airport transportation! Mahalo :-D

After more than 30 years of visits, Hilton Hawaiian Village remains one of my favorite places in Hawaii. Incredible location, expansive beachfront, wonderful amenities, and gorgeous ocean views. This visit included a fantastic Diamond Reserve welcome, an ocean-view upgrade, and Friday night fireworks enjoyed from our private balcony, cocktails in hand! Five stars, without hesitation! The Details: I've been coming to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort since the 1990s, and I absolutely LOVE this place! In fact, even when I lived in Hawaii back in the '90s, I'd occasionally treat myself to a staycation here. There's just something special about this resort that keeps bringing me back, decade after decade! We just arrived for another wonderful visit, this time for 12 days! We're combining a business trip and convention next week with two extended weekends of enjoying everything Waikiki and Honolulu have to offer. Not a bad way to mix business with pleasure! My wife will be hard at work the whole time...! (On her tan) ;-) This visit was particularly memorable because I recently achieved Hilton's new Hilton Honors Diamond Reserve status. Upon checking in, the wonderful lady behind the counter noticed my status, raised her eyebrows, and exclaimed, "Wow! You're the first person I've met who's achieved that status! Congratulations, and welcome to Hawaii!" What a fantastic way to begin our vacation! Even better, we received a beautiful upgrade to an ocean-view room with sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, Waikiki Beach, and iconic Diamond Head. And as luck would have it, our balcony was perfectly positioned for the resort's famous Friday night fireworks! Rather than fighting the crowds gathered along the beach, we enjoyed the entire show from the peaceful comfort of our private balcony, cocktails in hand, watching the fireworks explode against the night sky above the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely spectacular! It's moments like these that remind me why I've loved this property for more than three decades. Another thing that makes the Hilton Hawaiian Village so special is its incredible location. You're right in the heart of the action, with easy access to Waikiki's restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and attractions, yet the resort itself feels like an entire tropical village. There are numerous restaurants, bars, pools, beautifully landscaped grounds, and one of the biggest advantages of all: a huge, beautiful stretch of beachfront right outside the resort! Unlike many other Waikiki hotels, where beach access can be limited or crowded, the Hilton Hawaiian Village enjoys an exceptional beachfront setting. It's also a surprisingly convenient location for business travelers, including those visiting military installations around Honolulu & Joint Base Hickham Pearl Harbor. I've always appreciated being able to handle business during the day and return to what feels like a Hawaiian vacation in the evening! After more than 30 years of visiting, I can confidently say the Hilton Hawaiian Village remains one of my favorite places to stay in Hawaii. Beautiful Ocean Views, but the Amenities Were Disappointing…read more My husband, our two daughters, and I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for three nights. While there were some wonderful highlights, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. Rainbow Tower & Housekeeping -- Excellent! We stayed in the iconic Rainbow Tower, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking! The room was very clean, and daily housekeeping deserves a round of applause. I also found the room rate reasonable, especially considering the beautiful views and beachfront location. Breakfast Buffet -- Overpriced and Underwhelming At approximately $50 per person, I expected much better quality and variety. The highlights were the excellent, high-quality bacon and four tropical juices, including guava, passion fruit, and orange. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was rather bland and uninspiring. The selection was limited, with options such as eggs Benedict, omelets, and loco moco. Overall, it felt like an ordinary hotel buffet with a luxury price tag. Swimming Pools -- Nice, but Good Luck Finding a Chair! The resort offers several pools, including two children's pools near the lagoon. Unfortunately, both were extremely crowded, and finding an available lounge chair was nearly impossible. The seating arrangements simply didn't seem adequate for the number of guests. The oceanfront pool near the bar was another disappointment. Although the pool itself was nice, there were no lounge chairs, only tables and regular chairs. This meant that at least one of us had to remain seated rather than comfortably relaxing by the pool. Not exactly the resort experience we had in mind! The largest pool was beautiful and suitable for adults and children, but equally crowded, making it difficult to find anywhere to sit. Lagoon & Beach -- The Ocean Wins! The resort's saltwater lagoon is convenient for families, but I wasn't impressed. The bottom had an unusual texture, almost like artificial sand, and whenever it was disturbed, the water turned milky and cloudy before settling. I can't speak to the actual water quality, but it didn't feel particularly fresh or inviting. I much preferred the ocean! The beach was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time swimming. There were some waves, so extra attention is needed with small children, but the ocean was definitely one of the highlights. Elevators -- A Frustrating Experience! The Rainbow Tower has a smart elevator system, which sounds great in theory, but during peak hours, it was an absolute nightmare! We waited over 15 minutes just to get an elevator, which is completely unreasonable for a resort of this size and reputation. We were in the 22nd floor. Going up and down became unnecessarily frustrating, especially when traveling with two young children. A modern elevator system should make things more efficient, not leave guests waiting nearly an hour just to reach their rooms or enjoy the resort facilities. This was another major disappointment and something management seriously needs to address. Final Thoughts The Hilton Hawaiian Village offers spectacular ocean views, clean accommodations, excellent daily housekeeping, and a beautiful beachfront location. However, the overcrowded pools, inadequate seating, disappointing $50 breakfast buffet, and underwhelming lagoon made the experience less enjoyable than expected. For a resort of this size and reputation, I expected a more relaxing and comfortable family experience. Would I stay again? Probably not. I'm glad we experienced it, especially the gorgeous Rainbow Tower views, but next time I'd prefer a smaller, quieter beachfront hotel where enjoying the pool doesn't feel like competing for a parking spot!

The valet staff was friendly and efficient and everyone we interacted with was welcoming. Unfortunately, the room didn't match what I'd expect from a Hyatt Regency. There was a leaking bathroom faucet, a chipped sink, rust and water damage around the bathroom door, dark buildup around the shower fixture, heavily stained blackout curtains, visible dust and debris under the bed and dark spotting inside the bathroom vanity where clean towels were stored. The room also had numerous scuffs, patched walls and signs of deferred maintenance throughout. The location and staff saved the stay, but the condition of the room fell well below the standard I'd expect from this brand, especially at this price point.

Maybe it's to gamble...maybe it's for those TJ's snacks...whatever it is Las Vegas is nothing like what we have here at home and Vacations Hawaii is the place that many of us rely on to get it all together in one package deal. You know when it's time you jump on their website to see the dates which clearly lists the prices and availability even to the point of selecting your seats are all conveniently done online...except me...sigh! For some reason I go through the whole process and unable to book it so I must go to the office which is located in the Ala Moana Pacific Center ninth floor (for the ninth island lol!) which used to be home to Shokudo on the ground floor and is right beside Ala Moana Center so parking is super easy as we all know. It's been since probably 2018 since my last trip so already excited and ready the staff there was very friendly and helpful to book my trip and it took just moments which was so much appreciated, this was really for mom but we both are so excited and the whole process couldn't be any more easier. The whole trip was fantastic though getting to the airport is recommended for the whole check in as they do use Hawaiian Airlines but are booked at a separate location so the single line could get long, and our gate was literally to the very back of the airport and the longest walk I've ever done, they do take care of your luggage and all the transportation and one of the reasons mom prefers using them and as long she's happy so am I and the whole package is inclusive so that you can focus on your journey. When my car rental fell through with another large rental company, Budget, due to a shortage when I showed up for my reservation with terrible customer service, I was in a pickle and called around other large rental companies that also had shortages or very expensive options. When I came across Akamai, I called and they not only had cars available, they were reasonably priced, and the costumer service was outstanding. I couldn't figure out how to get my phone connected to the navigation system after awhile and Jon helped me and called someone else to also get extra help and got me all setup. Reservation, pick up, and drop off was seamless and they offered to let me park or overnight if needed. The car was clean, newer, and in great shape. I would highly recommend! Your service was 5/5 because I went to your website and couldn't find the van so I decided to walk up and you got me what I needed and you and your staff was super informative, patient and choices of vehicles were plenty. Thank you. Overall value is 5/5 because you run a very unique rental business!!!!!!! You allow us to park it in your lot overnight, you waved me $60.00 per night for valet at my resort. U was able to walk there within minutes to get the car or drop it off. Just the perfect way to save us some $$ I will for sure come back next trip to rent from you!! This is a must try. Side note: uber/lyft round trip for us would have costed us the same price of the rental if not more, we were able to skip the valet fees at the resort, take the tour as long as we want and just loved this setup. Also if you go to places like dole plantation via uber, your return trip might be a long wait because I didn't see a lot of uber drivers available up that way. (I could be wrong) but this rental was just the perfect setup vs the waiting game.
