    New CHIPOTLE SALAD
    Christian Vincent M.

The best thing about the place is the service. The food is okay but it's good and quick when you need something simple and consistent. I've been coming to this location now and then for about 10 years. The lady does offer me like 6 things I don't want when I try and order lol, I'm like nah I just want this.

Another great meal! Awesome fish tacos, super chill decor and a great staff. I hope the manager appreciates his crew because they're awesome.

Chicken taco Plate 1988 super tasty!

Fantastic fish & chicken tacos. Had the lunch special that comes with chips & drink so a terrific value! Excellent service from Minerva. Great music playing in the background for a nice relaxing atmosphere. Conveniently located in the mall. Highly recommend Wahoos Fish tacos for fresh & delicious food!

Wahoo's Fish Taco is a solid option if you're already at the mall and want something reliable. I had the breakfast burrito with Portuguese sausage, and it was very good and flavorful, filling, and well made. Definitely the highlight of the visit. That said, it's on the pricier side for a fast-casual spot, and the service was slower than I expected, especially given the setting. Still a good place to eat, just not the quickest or best value if you're in a rush.

I had high hopes after hearing great things about this place, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. It's a casual, order-at-the-counter setup, which is fine, but the seafood didn't taste particularly fresh--my shrimp had a noticeably fishy flavor. On the plus side, the portions are generous, so if you're hungry, you won't leave disappointed. Just not sure I'd go back.

2 Taco Meal Special with Crispy Fish Tacos 1988 Style

We got a quick lunch here before shopping. I ordered the 2 Taco Meal Special with chips, salsa and a drink included. I got the Crispy Fish Tacos 1988 Style, which basically meant with chopped cabbage, green sauce and pico de gallo. It was pretty crowded, even in the late afternoon and we were lucky to find a seat. It wasn't too long of a wait for our food and service was good overall. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. The salsa bar is located near the exit, which I and other customers did not notice at first. I was able to get some extra salsa before we got our food. My fish tacos were just ok. I liked the pico de gallo and green salsa as well as my chips and salsa. The fish itself was mushy on the inside and did not taste fresh. The other ingredients however, like the salsa, rice, beans, cabbage and corn tortilla all seemed fresh. My boyfriend got the crispy fish burrito, which he devoured and enjoyed. Overall this place was ok, I was just disappointed in the actual fish. Maybe I should of gotten the grilled instead of fried.

Great vibes & food! Super fresh & nice employees. The taquitos are always good. The shrimp is good as well but I recommend the fish :)

I was surprised to see a Wahoo's inside of the South Coast mall as there are so many pricey restaurants surrounding it. There is an inside dining area which extends to seating in the mall area as well. It is tucked in a corner so there isn't much shopping traffic in the area so you can take a break from all the people to grab a quick bite. The menu is very reasonably priced and portions are what you would expect. I ordered the crispy fish taco. I liked the citrus slaw and the cilantro sauce but the fish reminded me of a frozen fish stick from those kids meals served in a cafeteria. I also liked the salsa/sauce bar so should've ordered some chips to take advantage of that! I believe the value is good for the price ($5 per taco) especially in a mall like the South Coast plaza so if you're looking for a quick bite, this will do. But personally, I think the fish tacos at California fish grill are better and slightly cheaper.

The new chipotle salad with carne asada?!?!

I've been a regular for 15-years. The service, food quality and food taste have suddenly taken a deep dive. As one of my family's very favorite fast food restaurants, I don't lightly share that this was my last visit. The Togo order was unacceptable. Tried the chipotle salad. Wahoos is one of the few that I try anything new because it's at least good. It was awful: they didn't pack the dressing, there was a few tiny pieces of meet. It looked completely unappetizing. It tasted worse. Nobody finished their lunch and nobody saved leftovers for later. I had no qualms when the prices went up. But then the quality noticeably shifted far down. So very disappointed Wahoos!

He was such a great server, on top of refills, clearing the table, getting orders in, checking on food that hadn't come out yet, and awesome conversation. He made the evening perfect. The dining area is on the dark side, quite intimate honestly, and very upscale feeling. There's a large bar area too if you're just looking for a couple drinks. We started with a plate of artichoke hearts, radishes, celery, preserved lemon hummus, and olives. It was very good and a nice start to the meal. Also ordered the caramelized brussels sprouts which were good. The best starter however were the lump crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms with creamed spinach and panko bread crumbs. My picture does not do them justice, they were perfect! Very tasty, a slight crunch, and quite hot right out of the oven. I got the cedar plank salmon with French green beans and asparagus. My wife got the 6oz filet mignon with the same veggies. The salmon was cooked perfectly, still juicy inside, very hot, and just the right amount of flakey. The filet was also cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and tender. All our veggies were tasty and fresh. They have a ton of cocktails, wine, and beer to choose from. The drinks we got were made well and delicious. I will absolutely go back often especially to try their other seasonal menus.

We are regulars at the diamond jamboree location so we knew what we wanted before we even walked in the door (2lbs head off shrimp kickin style, mild spice, add 3 corn and 3 potatoes). We also asked for gloves. The waitress did not repeat our order (this will be important later). The food came but they had forgotten the gloves which was no problem until we had been sitting there locking eyes with all the servers walking past us for 10 mins until I stood up and stopped one of them to ask for gloves. This wasn't ideal and then we realized that the order was also wrong as our sauce was clearly not kickin style sauce. The shrimp and corn were good despite our sauce being wrong. The potatoes were kind of hard and undercooked. However the ambiance was lively and I was very happy to have the World Cup games on the tvs. They dropped off the receipt and did not inform us we had to walk up to the front to pay as we sat there waiting for them to come charge us so we could leave. A mention of payment method would have been nice. Overall 3/5 we had a good time but these are things the diamond jamboree location hasn't errored on once in many trips.

We checked in with our reservation at opening hours and were seated pretty quickly. Service here is just as good as the other location; quick, attentive, and friendly. We ordered the saltado fries with filet mignon and garlic noodles with grilled salmon. The saltado fries were delicious; full of flavor, very rich, fries were cooked well, and the filet mignon was just amazing. The garlic noodles were tasty as well, but I wouldn't get it with salmon; while the fish was fine, it resulted in the dish being a bit dry altogether. Scallops: 9/10. Probably one of my favorite dishes here. The presentation was stunning and it was delicious. The scallops were good quality but a bit small. Garlic noodles with crispy salmon: 8/10. Good flavor for the garlic noodles. Crispy salmon was excellent. Noodles with wontons: 7.5/10. Also pretty good but small portion Lomo saltado: 7/10. I like Lomo saltado in general. It's a bit oily but I prefer it over the carne asada fries. That sauce is insane, but I don't think the dish would've been nearly as good without it. Carne asada fries: 6.5/10. Good but not as good as Lomo saltado. Some people preferred this though. Corn ribs: 9/10. One of the best dishes, to my surprise. Great presentation and great taste Pistachio dessert: 7/10. Seasonal and I don't remember the name but it was pretty good! Glad we ordered two for the table. Mocktail: 6/10. Sounded good but nothing standout. Overall, good but a bit expensive. The price wasn't very justified for the portions. Being separate from the rest of the restaurant was a bit weird. Our server was great though.
