I have a family background of free-range cattle ranching & have raised, loved & cared for a variety of pet species- from guinea to exotic birds. Volunteering at several rescues, and helping raise several puppy litters, I have dedicated most of my life to learning about the spectrum of dog temperaments! I treat pets as if they our own, because in those moments, they really are! I love reassuring and bonding with animals. My effort is making them feel like they are on vacation themselves. I have a learned and experiential understanding of dog behavior. I specialize in a variety of dog energy levels and reactivities, including; rescues, elders, high energy dogs, hunting dogs, and puppies. I monitor constantly for their emotional states, taking note of confidence, over stimulation, and stress. This eye for behavior assures that I am in full control and always know where an emotional state is headed in a pack dynamic. I take away triggers like shared meal times with dogs from different families, with dedicated areas for feeding and bone chewing. Pets from different families are never left alone together. I am kennel free save for in the event that a pup is comfortable with crates, and use them normally.

I asked Leonard to use a closed fist motion to help signal him to sit so he'd be on the same page with my other dog and when I got him back after the three weeks it worked like a charm. Aside from his work, I would give Leonard himself a 5 star review. He's polite, very understanding of needs/wants, and overall was just a great guy to work with. Would be willing to board my dogs with him again if I ever need to!

First, it was $35 dollars then it was $30 dollars. Secondly, the dog sitter who mysteriously only give her name once (if that happened, I don't remember what it was) stopped visiting my apartment space at around 8:40 AM, then changed to two 9:00 AM visits in a row. In other words, she was being specifically dedicated to giving me the lesser experience as possible. Lastly, there was to many personal comments made towards me such as ''I don't do specific times'' along with ''stay out of trouble'' during my college spring break. This came across as disrespectful and made my stomach crawl. In summary, stay a country mile away from this place if you want your dog looked after.

Let me tell you about this place! A dear friend of mine has had her Shih Tzu companion with her…read morefor well over 10 years. We were neighbors in 2005 in Washington State. He recently got ill, and my friend took her baby to a local veterinarian. (not this one). They gave her some ....difficult to accomplish goals for her administering medication to her dog. This dear soul is 74 years old, and not able emotionally or physically to do what she was asked to. Happenstance had her and I chatting via Facebook that night, and she told me she was worried about her boy, and told me what the Vet had told her to do. I won't get into it, but I was very angry because a 74 year old woman can not do what they asked.......she was getting ready to take out a payday loan for the vet......., and she lives on a VERY fixed income I told her to PLEASE take her boy to an EMERGENCY PLACE on Sunday, and have him evaluated and treated. I knew the dog was dehydrated and needed IV fluids......and other things, but I knew he would not last long without being seen. She did, and here is where Best Friends comes in. She took them toBest Friends Animal Hospital.... I had told my friend to give them my number (because I was going to help her pay). They called me, and I spoke to the Veterinarian TWICE. The did a PHENOMINAL job of taking care of Teddy, and were so polite, and helpful. They were conservative on treatment, but still fully addressed the issues, and in several days her little boy was ready to go home. Labs drawn ,IV fluids overnight with TLC, antibiotics given, some teeth pulled and a dental. It was step by step. First they gave fluids and drew blood. Waited for the result of that (and it was good) before progressing to the dental. It was responsible, caring treatment, based on what is best for the animal. The Veterinarian, a lovely ,skilled woman...... (Dr Brizkon) (forgive me if I mis spelled it).....said " I treat every animal as if it were my own". That is obvious. I can not say enough about the front office people who had this stranger they had to call, who "said" they were paying for the bill. (as well as the Techs, and Veterinarians) I told my dear friend I was paying for half, but as she was visiting her boy, I was on the phone paying for the rest. She did not know until check out. My wife totally supported me in this. So after all this is done, my friend tells me she has been taking her pup to nursing homes to help the elderly.................God works in mysterious ways.......but I would trust ANY of my animals with this animal hospital, and staff.....any day.

This past month the Vet charged us $700 for a dog ear infection then charged us $50 to check the ear out on a return check up visit that they said was all inclusive. I would not hesitate to give a big fat zero to the staff but most of all to the manager. Very rude and expensive. There are many Vets in Billings and this Vet is not the one you want. The entire staff was incredibly kind, and the doctor didn't try to sell me on a bunch of additional treatments. I left paying an incredibly small amount for a rabies vaccine and a full exam. Fast forward a year and a my doggie had a dental emergency. I knew I didn't want to go anywhere else, so I waited for the morning and they got me in same day. I saw a different doctor who was equally amazing. We knew we needed to get his tooth out asap (very infected and swollen) so he was able to rearrange the schedule and get him in first thing the next morning. We ended up doing a full cleaning while he was out, and I told him to do x rays and other services to his discretion. He ended up not needing to, and was able to keep my bill to a minimum. I was SHOCKED that with all the services we received I was able to keep the bill under $1,000. (Eval, difficult extraction, anesthesia, cleaning, rabies booster, additional meds during procedure, etc.) It's a great feeling to know that your pet is in the hands of someone who is truly just trying to do what is best for them and not to inflate the bill. They dealt with my anxiety with ease and even my dog didn't seem to be on edge. 100% recommend taking your pet to this place.
