    Alpaca area.

This place is so beautiful and well kept. I wish we could have stayed longer to explore the surrounding areas. The alpaca and guardian dogs were so much fun to visit with and the facilities are clean and well kept.

As an overnight hauler, this RV park and campground was perfect! Immaculate, gorgeous setting and making a reservation was a snap.

Extremely Discriminatory & Hostile Environment…read more I am currently living at Indian Village Campground, and my experience with the manager, Jane, has been nothing short of harassment and discrimination from the day I arrived. From my very first week here, she has repeatedly called, texted, or shown up at my site accusing me of breaking rules. Each time I provided clear proof (including photos) showing that I did NOT break any rule, yet she refused to acknowledge it and continued to harass me. What's even more disturbing is the way she refers to residents. She addresses white residents by name but refers to the minority residents as "the Mexicans." I witnessed this repeatedly, and other residents confirmed it's normal behavior from her. As one resident told me, "Once she puts a target on your back, it's rough." I have children, which she knew before I moved in. Yet I was openly told she "did not want to see my children in the park." That meant they were expected to stay inside at all times, which is completely unreasonable for paying residents. I am also disabled and rely on a mobility scooter because I can't walk long distances. The only accessible way to reach the restrooms and showers is a ramp. Despite this, she repeatedly harassed me for using my scooter on that ramp--something that is literally an accessibility requirement. She even forced me to walk the scooter up and down the ramp, which causes me significant pain. Today, after following every instruction she gave me, I walked my scooter down the ramp and only got on at the bottom once I reached the cement pad. Within 60 seconds she called and falsely accused me of riding down the ramp and told me I now had to vacate the property. This is clear discrimination against someone with a disability and a complete disregard for ADA responsibilities. Her behavior is disrespectful, hostile, and unprofessional. After speaking with multiple residents, it's obvious that this is a pattern and not an isolated incident. People here live in fear of becoming her next target. I would strongly warn anyone--especially families, minorities, or disabled individuals--to think twice before choosing this campground. The environment is toxic, discriminatory, and filled with unnecessary harassment.

Ray Roberts Johnson Branch is a beautiful park with lots to do. Bring the family or come solo. This is a smaller part of the Ray Roberts park so it is a very safe feeling here. Both times, you are greeted right at entrance and given an introduction by some really nice staffers. Regardless of whether you're a newcomer or not, they will give you a map and help orient you around the area. The site that we chose (Dogwood Canyon again) was clean and nicely spread out from the next site. We don't know if any staff members come by to check on the place after check-out but every time we've come now, the site is pretty clean and clear from any litter. Unfortunately this time around, the toilets weren't that well stocked with toilet paper so yes, bring toilet paper while camping! This should be for best practice anyways. :-) Other than that, we did have some noise disturbance in the evening from rowdy kiddos - it doesn't seem like anyone really patrols around to keep parties in check like some negative Google reviews may have suggested, who knows! The hikes were great, I would rate the blue and orange trails to be pretty mild-moderate. There are some slopes and there are some spots you may need to "climb" a bit but nothing too bad! I absolutely love having this park to get away to from the busyness of the city. Makes the $75 annual pass so so worth it (otherwise, it would be $7 per person, per day for admission)!

We did not venture further in, so I cannot comment on the facilities there. The shoreline trail runs back between the subdivisions and the lake, away from the park. I think you could just walk across the road and access a connecting trail that leads into the park; however, you might have to pay an admission fee even a a pedestrian. I do not know. We just followed the shoreline for a mile or so. The scenery is sometimes pretty along the lake and some of the homes / back yards can be interesting as well. We passed several individuals and groups during our walk. The trail is not secluded (often passing groups of homes) and seemed quite safe. If you are in the area and want to take a walk away from the traffic, this is a good budget choice.
