A perfect spot for families! We're a Fulltime RV family and this has been our favorite park thus far. Not only because of how clean everything is, but the ample space away from RV's for the kids to run around, blow bubbles, visit the alpacas, and the pool time! The laundry facilities are air conditioned and clean. We'll absolutely stay here again in the future! Downsides were the lack of concrete pads and the ants were horrible! Come evening they would be swarming under our RV and I hadn't noticed until they were all over our floor inside. read more

This is the BEST place so far we have stayed at. Such a Beautiful campground you can tell they take pride in what they have here. Everything is clean, organized, perfect spacing between sites, This Gem has it all. a couple of Dog runs / spaces, horse pens, of course the Alpacas and guard Dogs. Full hook up and laundry , kitchen area. Small fenced in pool lots of space to enjoy! Treatment of long term customers is shocking. Maintenance man is owners brother and likes to throw that fact in your face. He's also scary around around little girls. Every time you look up, he's there gawking. Owners wife acts like she'll do something about complaints, but in reality they go in one ear and out the other. This is NOT A KID FRIENDLY PARK. They get mad when kids just want to play catch and move around outside. I guess they think kids should be seen and not heard. If you like to drink large amounts of alcohol then you can be the owners buddy. They have drinking parties there. My family will NEVER stay at this second rate camp grounds again. Try KOA just north 3 miles. Nicer sites, beautiful pool and pond. read more

Would only recommend for short stay, the rates here are probably the highest in the area if you are staying long term. It was ok when I first moved here but I think they changed management? Neighbors are nosy, and some of the full timers are unfriendly especially if you are young. They had one lady in the office that was very nice but I haven't seen her in a while. Good luck getting a campsite in the shade, even after living there for a year or more. Plan to spend $8-10 if you do laundry at the park. Overall, it's nice if you're lucky enough to get a spot in the shade, and you like to sit outside and you're over the age of 50. Wouldn't recommend overall. read more

We stayed here in our RV on two occasions in 2014 and 2015 with our 3 kids. Kids had a great time with the owners feeding the Alpaca's. The park has a country feel, with tons of space between sites. The owners were helpful and take great pride in the park. They seem to be constantly improving things. We noticed on our last visit that they had completely overhauled the public bathrooms and common area. Our stay also happened to overlap with a fantastic, free educational program hosted by the nearby Raptor center. Great owners, fun for the kids, privacy and a country feel close to the city! read more

We recently started full time RV living. We were very fortunate to start that life here. Owners helped us unhook the first time and get us set up. This park is quiet and everyone we have met has been very friendly. This is more than an RV park it is a community. Everything you need is very convenient and close. We have left and visited other parks in Texas and have returned here because we love it. We compare all the places we have visited to Wagon Master and are very happy to be back. Close to the DFW area and plenty of things to do right in Denton. Also, Winstar is a quick 30 minutes away. If you are looking for an overnight or longer I highly recommend this park. read more

This is Walden to many of us. It is a wonderful community created and maintained by two wonderful humans, Ken & Janet. It ain't easy doing what they do and some days it can be a thankless job. I appreciate what they have built by hand and the ever improving landscape they cultivate. I cannot recommend a visit or stay awhile, enough. You want simple, easy, Sunday feeling, natural country living? Head this way! It is an experience! I should have written this review years ago. Alas, I don't take the time very often to let people, places, events know my positive thoughts about their service and/or product. I will work to better that part of myself. What brings me here today? I would like to address the many outlandish reviews left by the one visitor below, Laurie S. I was staying here, across the drive, from this exact couple who, for lack of a better descriptor, were some of the most poorly socialized people I have had the pleasure of briefly crossing paths with. Contention surrounded much of their being. And I couldn't help but comment on it to my significant other - that people may be moody because their life, the way they are leading it, isn't meeting their emotional needs adequately - so they create their "worthwhile" drama in order to live. However, that just doesn't fly here in Walden, or with Ken, or with Janet. BTW, thank you both for restoring order that night. And just how hard, hurtful people enjoy being cruel - one angry Yelp review just isn't enough. Hurtful escalates to harmful. The accusations and underhanded suggestion of impropriety this woman is spewing, in regards to the park, Steve, Ken and Janet, is outright harm and hate, with evil intent. It is alarming! It is a spoiled, chaotic tantrum for not getting one's way. I take personal offense to her suggestive words and claims and am here to call her out on her bullshit. As an overnight hauler, this RV park and campground was perfect! Immaculate, gorgeous setting and making a reservation was a snap.

The place is big and spacious but the best sites are in the back and sides with fully grown trees. Those are all taken with what appears to be permanent residents. The bathrooms were clean and everyone was very friendly. Laundry facility was great and cheaper then other places. No sidewalks but there are 2 dog runs (no bags provided). Easy access to the highway and alpacas on site are cool. read more

We have been through numerous RV parks from Texas to the West Coast and this is one of the most spacious and cleaner campgrounds we have been to by far. It is well maintained and the owners are very friendly. There are the same rules that are at any other campground, as long as you are not causing major problems and being a nuisance then you forget there is even an office. I love this RV park because every RVer I've seen here in the last two months is friendly and follows the rules and is left to live as they please. You can not get a better RV park in the area this I'm sure of! read more

We stayed here for the last year and we're completely satisfied with this park. My husbands work has sent him up and down the east coast and for the last 3 years we have been in Texas. We have parked our rv in a dozen parks over the years and this park is by far the best. It's best feature is the ample lots. So many parks we've been in, the rv's are right next to each other. Here you can actually fit another rv between and still have more room then other parks. Another thing we liked was that it is quiet and has a country feel. There are stores and restaurants within 3 miles. We found the full time residents are very nice and friendly. Pool and laundry was always clean and never crowded. I never once had complaints when my grandchildren visited. The speed limit is strictly enforced which was nice because it was never dusty. Highly recommend! read more

AMAZING! If you're looking for a place to call home (or temporarily home) this is the RV park for you! The owners care so much for their guests (over-nighters to yearly). Green pastures, a full service laundry mat, beautiful, clean and updated bath house with showers, a rec room, pool, WIFI, and even a herd of Alpacas! They go above and beyond, offering educational programs for the kids and adults, holiday parties and more. They keep this RV park looking beautiful year round! We stayed in this park for a year. The owners, Janet and Ken, take great pride in keeping the grounds clean and safe for campers. They also inforce "quiet hours", which is a plus for those of us who still have schedules to keep. We stayed for a week in a fifth wheel. Park did not have all the bells and whistles but was quiet, very reasonable, and pet friendly. It did have a laundry room which was also reasonable. Management was nice. Grass and dirt pads which when wet can get messy, best if you have a door mat. read more

Ken, Janet and their awesome staff really care about their guests and long term residents! They handle difficult people and situations daily but they always respond with grace. They take your safety seriously and will not hesitate to remove someone from the park who threatens the safety or wellbeing of their neighbors. If Mayberry were an rv park it would be this place. In fact, I think Andy Griffith had the space next to mine. Most of the 100 spaces are occupied by people who stay 1-2 months and come every year. I was lucky - they stay fully booked but the three people in front of me on the waiting list delayed their trip down until March. I'll be blunt - it did look a little down at the heels when I first saw it but that's really part of its charm. It looks a lot more upscale when those eye-popping 60-foot luxury RVs pull in for a week! All the spaces have hookups and wifi. It's reached by a two lane road and surrounded by pastures. Very quiet - no highway noise Everything follows the kitschy western theme. There is a "corral" where you can take your dogs off their leash. The wagon wheel leaning against the "Wash House" belies the oversized, brand new washers and dryers inside that you'd expect in a Parade of Homes model house. The owners are a couple who live on the property who are warm and welcoming. They also are very security conscious. He told me his wife kids him because the minute he wakes up he reviews the security tapes from the night before, and he emphatically tells you to call 24/7 if you have any concerns. Oh, and feel free to take your dog with you into the office when you go there. That might be my favorite part. There are other RV park options in the area that range all the way up to resorts with golf courses. Wagon Master is much more my style. read more

We are a family that has traveled full time for four years and have had plenty of good and not so good campground experiences. When in Texas, Wagonmaster has become our favorite campground that we come back to. We were originally told by another family how their children enjoyed working with the alpacas so much and that the management was incredibly friendly so we decided to check it out. We had planned to stay a month or so but ended up staying 5 the first time through... Our friend's words were more than true! The children were allowed to be very involved with the alpacas, feeding and halter training. They now even have an excellent homeschool program we've attended organized by one of the resident's with education background (managers both have backgrounds in education too and are great with all ages), some of which has been done onsite and some at Ray Roberts Lake (like kayaking). During the time we stayed there we saw expansions and improvements based on feedback from those staying there. The first time through we heard them talking about creating a common space people could hold social events or cook in. Next time through, it was actually done and the Wander Inn is beautiful. There were fun events that allowed us to get to know other travelers and residents. The owners love people and are protective of those staying there, so rules are enforced, which was always a comfort to us. Many others we know who have stayed here could share these thoughts as well. read more
