Teriyaki salmon - super tasty
Oleg H.

Pretty tasty sushi and teriyaki. Excellent service. Super nice interior. We arrived when it was still early and not crowded, but as it picked up the service kept pace.

Salmon avocado roll and sf roll (hamachi and avocado).

Service was fast, we didn't wait much at all for food. We ordered Kendall Merlot wine. It was Good, very smooth. They brought us miso soup which hit right as it was cold outside. My friend had hamachi, and California roll. We were advised the hamachi would take 15 minutes but came out sooner. The hamachi was perfectly cooked. The California roll was ok. I had the sf roll (hamachi and avocado), it was good. I also had salmon and avocado roll. I could taste the salmon more than the avocado which was perfect. It was delish. The edame was good garlicky and black sesame seed. The ambiance is dim lights table seating.

Had a great dinner here the other day! Service is always quick and friendly, tables are available with no wait, and the food is great! I had the titanic roll and it also came with complimentary miso soup! Inside is also clean and good vibes, not too noisy but good to catch up with a friend.

Service was amazing, love how welcoming and family oriented they were while serving you. We said no to miso soup so they brought us edamame on the house. Will definitely be coming back. And the food was also really good and fresh !

From the friendly service to the fresh and delicious food, this place is really a hidden gem. I truly had the best dinning experience and can't believe I've never eaten here before. I will be back.

Wago Sushi is INCREDIBLE! They are my favorite restaurant in the Marina. Not only do they have absolutely delicious and mouthwatering sushi, but they are the loveliest people ever. Today was a very special day for me, and I went to Wago Sushi to treat myself and celebrate. They were so unbelievably kind to me and made the day even better!

What a hidden gem! Came on a Sunday at 1pm and there were just a couple people. Their menu is very extensive so it took us a while to decide what we wanted so I would recommend looking up the menu ahead of time if you want to get your food faster. Sushi came out really quick on such a pretty boat display! The fish itself was pretty fresh and the sushi was quite filling. My friend and I each had 1 roll and split another. We were so full by the end of it. The rolls were a little expensive (~$20) but for the portion size and how filling it is, I would say it's worth it. I would definitely come back here!

Ordered pickup delivery from Grubhub. Wowowow I live in the Marina and definitely underestimated Wago sushi but I really loved my experience! I ordered four rolls for takeaway and was pleasantly surprised that they came with two free miso soups! This is such a nice touch that truly delighted me as a customer. As far as rolls go, I really liked the double hamachi and the spicy tuna rolls. The hamachi was fresh, delicious, and light. Loved the fish egg on top. I also ordered the Kevin's roll and dragon roll, which were also good, but I found quite heavy in terms of sauce. Next time I definitely want to try some of the other rolls like the As roll that other reviewers recommend. Needless to say I'll be coming back!

Visited this sushi joint with my little cousin on a Thursday afternoon and it did not disappoint. The service was elite. We were greeted and seated immediately. We decided to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day in the city! Our server was so friendly, he gave us complimentary miso soup. Favorite roll: island roll. We liked the bad boy roll too, but the Jalapeno in it was interesting. Rice to fish ratio is great. They don't pack too much rice in the rolls :) Salmon sashimi was also amazing. Loved the texture and soft bite it had. Don't skip the spicy edamame if you're an edamame lover! It had lots of flavor.

Apparently i missed a lot of vegie sushi options because at 9pm they shut down the fried stuff; they had some kind of eggplant roll i was looking forward to The manager (?) was so nice! They gave me miso soup and edamame because it was late and i guess they felt bad. They were so welcoming that i will go back for sure. The vegetable roll was notmy favorite because there was some kind of yellow something sponge like that i didnt like hut that was only a preference

The service was pretty nice, we got a table pretty much right away,we order two rolls and gyozas which all were tasty , however the portions were a bit small and more to the pricey side. The place and decorations they had were nice and cozy , we liked it!

Fast service and didn't have to wait too long for our food. Great. Food preparation and presentation friendly

Definitely try the tuna tataki, which comes out sizzling hot with crispy rice and fresh fish. Try the toro cakes for sure, their classed up version of a crispy rice spicy tuna except it's crispy rice and toro. Yummy. We also had the Hotsui which is a roll with snow, crab, butter, fish, yellowtail, black pepper, and a sizzling sesame chili oil. The people who work here were also amazing, they know their dishes well and what makes them unique and delicious. Truly felt the love for their food.

Lots of sauce and flavor. Dojo 5/5: my favorite roll of the 3 that we tried. I love eel and the bbq eel was so delicious. I love the addition of the crunch. Killed the whole roll to my self Hantui 2/5: I can see how its buttery and melts in your mouth but I felt it wasn't as flavorful to me and I didn't enjoy it as much. It's still really fresh and buttery but also simple. Cookie dough roll 4/5: we had to try!!! Insane with the chocolate chips and the sauces drizzled. I loved the ice cream. The cookie dough is yummy but can be a bit much after a few bites, it's pretty chunky. I enjoyed it though, super sweet!

Food/drink ready within 20min. Limited seating but cute wooden seating/mini table stands. It's definitely a sit and chat or drop-in for lunch situation! Perfect if you're walking around and exploring the area. Parking is hard ofc. The truffle was rich and complimented the fresh fish. Rice wasn't reasoned. The concept is fairly simple. Could I remake it at home? Yes. But the assembly is phenomenal! The drink was delicious, but very sweet. Very creamy, I felt like I was consuming straight up cream, and less of a liquid matcha. There is oat and whole milk options. The mango was very fresh and tart. Overall, not a place I would go to all the time, just bc it's pricy. But a tasty small bite when exploring SF from time to time!

The less sweet version was just right for me and I think the bitterness from each tea balanced each other well. The matcha added grassy notes, while the floral jasmine made for a very fragrant drink! The salted cheese cream on top added this perfect savory balance to the sweetness of the drink. It's one of those combinations that sounds a little unexpected but just works. My one note for next time is to go half sugar so the matcha flavor can really shine through, but that's a personal preference more than a criticism. The Black Sesame Latte was good, but we both wished the sesame flavor was a little more pronounced. If you're going in expecting bold, nutty black sesame notes, it's a touch on the subtle side. Still enjoyable, just leaves you wanting a little more of what drew you to order it in the first place. Overall a really fun spot with creative drinks and a great vibe. Already thinking about what to try on the next visit!

For $18, you get an incredible spread: * your choice of gyoza, shumai, or tofu * a California roll or avocado roll * a protein of your choice Plus it all comes with edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad. Honestly? That's my kind of deal. Everything we tried was delicious. In addition to the lunch box, we ordered a dragon roll and a dynamite roll, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. My husband went with the Una Ten Donburi. It was tasty, but at $30, it did feel a bit steep compared to the rest of the menu. The restaurant looked like your typical Japanese style space with the sushi rollers at the entrance and simple tables and decor. I do have two minor negatives worth mentioning. First, the edamame was cold and unsalted. I'm an edamame lover, and nothing beats it hot, freshly steamed, and generously showered in salt. So that was a little disappointing. Second, our server (I believe his name was Kayz) seemed visibly annoyed when we asked to split the check. As a server myself, I know this isn't rocket science, and guests should never be made to feel uncomfortable for something so standard, especially after there had already been a small mix-up with our roll order (we received two dynamite rolls instead of one dynamite and one dragon). We didn't make a fuss at the time because mistakes happen, but the attitude at the end definitely stood out. That said, the food itself was solid, the lunch special is a fantastic value, and overall we still had a good experience. I would absolutely return and would recommend this spot, just hoping for a smoother service experience next time.

My meal apparently wasn't memorable enough to motivate me to visit this location, that is, until quite recently. I decided to have lunch here after a nearby medical appointment. It wasn't crowded at all. Only a couple of solo diners and a loud senior couple. I wasn't in a sushi mood and thought I'd go healthy with the saba shioyaki. However, at the last minute, I went with the $19 Ika Yaki, a whole BBQ squid sliced and saturated in teriyaki sauce with a dab of shichimi mayo (Photo 8). The portion was generous and the texture was firm with enough elasticity. Unfortunately the teriyaki sauce did nothing to enhance the dish, and I wished they served it on the side. I also ordered the $8 Agedashi Tofu, usually a foolproof appetizer for me. It certainly looked right (Photo 9), but I was unpleasantly surprised how tongue-burning hot it was. The cubes of tofu must've just come right out of the deep fryer. The dashi broth helped calm the heat down but a little too late. I'm sure glad I sprung for the $3 bowl of Rice (Photo 10). That calmed what was left of my tongue down.
